+ -1 moreWill returned our initial call promptly and met us at a mutually-convenient time to examine the project and discuss various approaches with us. He provided a timely and accurate estimate for the job; given its nature, it was an estimate based on time and materials. He secured the necessary license and permit from the township. He was reliable and an excellent communicator throughout the job, keeping us informed of progress and problems and showing up when he had promised. He was open to working with us on this relatively small but tedious repair job that required talent and an understanding of old houses. He performed all the work himself. His work was excellent; he took great care in working with the existing flooring and piecing in new flooring when necessary. He was very pleasant to work with. And he knows old houses! If you love your old house but it needs some restoration and repair, Old House Carpentry may be just what you're looking for.
Description of Work: Will repaired our 100-year old heart pine flooring in the foyer, living room, and dining room. He leveled and sistered sagging flooring, replaced broken floor boards, and weaved in new flooring as needed to eliminate poor repairs that had been made previously. Will was one of the few carpenters to whom we spoke who (1) was willing to take on such repair work and (2) possessed extensive experience in old house repairs.
