Over all the service provided was very good. This was a rescheduled appointment due to inclement weather. Like the email confirmations. Would like to see a small change on the email confirmation providing the window that they would come. The current email gives you only the start of the window and doesn't state that it is a window. In my case the email stated that they would be there at 1pm instead of sometime between 1-3pm. They actually arrived closer to 4 pm but the service tech was good about calling and letting me know that he had been delayed on the appointment before. The Tech was knowledgeable and was respectful of my home. Would definitely use again.
Description of Work: I purchased an AC tune-up special. They went over both interior and exterior mechanicals and provided feedback on their functional state. They also tune-up contacts and checked coolant levels as well as replaced filter.

Job was to replace HVAC and water heater. Prices quoted were good and the man that came out was very nice and professional to give us quote. Afterwards we called to set up service. No response. Called several more times and still no response. We were trying to give them business - oh well, it's on them. We went with someone else.
Description of Work: Provider did not perform services. We called and called; it took so long to get back to us that we ended up going with someone else for the job.

I spoke with your husband several times as did Tim, the service manger. we spoke with him in the evening, several times after 8pm when he would call. I am confused as to that you called several times and got no response. I do remember your husband mentioning to both Tim and myself that he had wanted to schedule that day when he made the decision. If there are emergencies they must be top priority. I apologize for any delays. I also know that in November it can get quite crazy but non emergency calls are returned within 24 hours. That was fine. He fixed a leaky faucet and looked at my sump pump. He gave me some quotes for other jobs. We did have a little bit of a scheduling issue, and then he had to go out and get some tools and come back.

Angie's List is fortunate to have contractors such as MGT Service Heating & Air working on Angie's List subscriber's behalf. This company, MGT Service Heating & Air's, staff were all caring, competent individuals working together to get a difficult job done right at the agreed upon price and on time. It was amazing the attention we received. I especially liked the combination phone and email exchanges from Gretchen to make sure that we all - MGT Service Heating & Air and our family were on the same page to coordinate so that no mis-communication occurred. The water heater itself is better than the 6 year old model it replaced (more features, slightly smaller, quieter) and it was $50 less expensive! You don't find that in America very often. Service like this can't really be described, you have to experience it. I'll bet your experience will be as good or better than ours. I know because when I mentioned our Angie's List plan at work, several people came forward, without being prompted, to tell me their great Angie's List story too. Try it, you'll like it.
Description of Work: Installed new gas 40 gallon shortie Bradford White Water Heater in a very tight HVAC utility closet. An excellent install from all perspectives-neat, clean (left work space cleaner than when he arrived), quiet - a great installation.

He was very polite and showed me how to flush the water heater. He check all the pipes and found a problem. One elbow was pitted on the botton which means it's rusting. MGT Service Heating & Air will be back to replace the elbow. I will keep their name and number in case I need them in the future. 5/7/14 MGT came and fixed the problem. I was very happy with the company and I recommend MGT. They are a company that cares about their clients.

Arrived on time. Pleasant & professional. Did the check up and all was well. Then later that night my system did not work. After several phone calls they helped us out with resetting the unit. They did have good reason not to be responsive initially. How-ever, we felt that he should have had a backup person/plan to attend to service needs.

That is the fault of the office, not the technician so I do want to apologize again, for all of us. The last thing we would want is for you to wait. This cannot be avoided at certain times. he was the on call technician which is why you spoke with him again. To have more than one person on call would increase our costs dramatically which would in turn raise the customers prices. I do feel that we need to work on the handling of customer calls to our technicians so that we can avoid these type of situations. I do apologize for not responding in a more timely manner.

I purchased a big deal to replace the water shut off valves. There appointment was rescheduled a few times on a short notice. That was not a surprise since I read reviews before purchasing and that was mentioned. I work from home so it was not an issue for me. Finally the work was done. Chris was very nice and professional and did a great job. I would hire him again.

Update To MGT Review- I posted the first review in haste. The day after the installation, I checked the unit ( a whole house humidifier, Aprilaire #500). There was a major leak coming from the water panel housing, about a pint of water on the basement floor. I notified MGT, who sent the same tech out who installed it the next day. He deduced that the air flow across the water panel was too high, and adjusted the integral "Winter/Summer" damper door, a part of the #500 humidifier unit itself, to reduce the air flow. This integral damper is meant for only two positions, one is totally open, the other totally closed. It is NOT meant to control the air flow across the water panel. I did not know this at the time, and noticed as the heating season wore on the unit was only providing 21-23% humidity for the home. I was still getting static electricity, and the air quality was dry and uncomfortable. Once the Winter 2013/14 season rolled around, I replaced the water panel, fired it up and noticed there was hardly any water flowing to the water panel. I replaced an inline debris strainer which was almost totally clogged, and also cleaned an orifice, through which the water is delivered to the panel. It too, was badly clogged. Once I rectified the water delivery problems, the performace increased approx. 5-7%, but was still unacceptable. In Feb 2014, I contacted Aprilaire's Customer Support, who told me of the need for the "by-pass air flow damper" and the factory recommended air flow specs. I purchased the damper, a $15.00 item, and I had it installed by my brother who had the expensive meter to measure and adjust the proper air flow across the water panel. After almost two complete heating heating seasons of insufficient humidification, the unit now is performing at peak efficiency. MGT gets the low grades because after I spelled out to them what was needed to remedy the problem, including the forwarded emails from Aprialire's Customer Service, their tech arrived that day in March 2014 totally empty handed, and it was obvious he had never read, or paid no attention to, the forwarded emails. I kindly asked him and his helper to leave, and told them that I would rectify the problem myslef. The improper installation caused the poor performance, but the indifferent attitude evinced by showing up empty handed and exhibiting no knowledge of what was needed to be done, after all I had done to expedite the repair, is my main complaint. The owner was most effusive in her apologies, but made no offer to reimburse me for any parts nor time spent troubleshooting the problem. This is not acceptable, I think you will agree.

The service technician arrived on time for the appointment time to service my system. Everything checked out ok on my 10yr old system. He noted that I needed to change my air filter more regularly as it was restricting the air flow.

Plumber showed up on time, fixed the problem within the amount of time on my deal from Angie's List, and did a very professional job with correcting the plumbing problem which should never have passed inspection to begin with. Very happy with MGT and would use them again.

His first visit was to size up the job. He left to obtain the necessary parts. When he returned he tried to turn the water off at the curb. The valve was stuck. He advised that I should call the water company and get them to loosen the valve. He was rightfully afraid that he might damage the valve if he tried to use force. I called the water company and they came and freed the valve. It was the first time in at least 40 years that any attempt was made to close the valve. .I called the office and advised that the water company had freed the valve. They made another appointment. The plumber showed up on time, as he had on his first visit. He did all the required work in two hours. Very neat and clean. Definitely knew what he was doing. Would definitely recommend and use this company in the future.
Description of Work: He replaced two valves and a pressure regulator.

Tim (the owner) came out and serviced my heating system. We had to reschedule a few times due to the weather but a great service for a great price so for me the reschedule was well worth it. Tim also gave me pointers on how my system could run more efficiently and gave me a quote for a replacement system in the future. I will for sure use MGT to service my system in the summer.

They just left and they are coming back with some parts on Monday and so, far I am pleased. They are on time, they communicate well, they are honoring the Angie’s List coupon, and once they fix it on Monday, I am happy camper. The price was reasonable. Their people, their personalities, and their promptness have been very good.

The Freon was expensive. The first time, when we searched for plumbing, he popped up. He came out. It was perfect. Then when he had issues, I went on Angie's List again looking for someone for air conditioning. His company popped up again. I didn’t know that he did that. I thought it was just plumbing. I used him again, because I had a great experience the first time. He came out and did say that we were probably going to need another unit. We would have gone with him. We actually found company that is a little cheaper. It was a little more expensive for him to put the heat pump in and the furnace. We decided to go with another company. We didn’t go with him for that, but he did come out and he did the service. He did put the Freon. It pretty much lasted until September till the heat wave was over. He was great. He was on time and very nice. He knew what he was talking about. We didn’t have any problems with him. We were very pleased with him and his company.
Description of Work: We used MGT Service Heating & Air to service our air conditioning unit. We also needed some more Freon in our unit. We also used him for plumbing our upstairs bathroom. He fixed it. We were having issues with our air conditioner and we wanted to see what was wrong with the unit. The air conditioning wasn’t very cold.
