KOEHLER'S JEWELERS

In June 2014, the diamond fell out of my engagement ring while I was at church.  It was in a six-prong setting, and two of the prongs had gotten twisted.  I returned to church that Monday, found what I thought was the diamond, and took the diamond and the ring to Koehler's.  I asked the saleslady to fix the prong setting and install a new diamond.

The saleslady found that what I thought was my diamond was actually a cubic zirconia, and, because it had a foil band around it, it probably was from an earring, not a ring.  I agreed to buy a diamond she showed me.  She told me the ring would be ready in a week and a half.

I heard the saleslady tell me the CZ was "insignificant."  She told me she had given it back to me, but I recall that she had had it last.  I heard her say that my original diamond had perhaps been either a CZ or not a good diamond.  She was haughty and condescending.  (The lovely jeweler from whom my husband bought the ring had told us exactly what our diamond was, and offered to appraise it:  we had decided to wait.  Since then, however, that jeweler has gone out of business.)

Nine days later, I called to check on the diamond, and told the store manager about the incident with the saleslady.  However, he attacked me and defended the saleslady.  His tone was condescending and rude.  I heard him say the saleslady has been working in this field for more than forty years, including some time at a prominent jeweler's in Philadelphia.  Koehler's had done no work whatsoever on my ring, so I picked it up.  My husband and I are now looking elsewhere.

My understanding is that Koehler's has been around since 1927, and has always been a family-owned company. I would have preferred to contact the owner of Koehler's and give him or her the opportunity to make this right.  However, I have been unable to find contact information for the owner.  Koehler's website is unsecured, and I am unable to access it on my computer. 

Koehler's would do well to retrain their employees to treat customers courteously, and to process jobs in a professional and timely fashion.

I have used them several times. They always are very pleasant and charge a fair price. Everyone I have dealt with is very courteous knowledgeable and prompt.

EVERYONE THAT WORKS AT KOEHLER'S JEWELERS ARE KIND, CONSIDERATE AND PROFESSIONAL. IF YOU NEED A REPAIR DONE QUICKLY, THEY ARE MOST ACCOMMODATING.

KOEHLERS IS A VERY REPUTABLE AND PROFESSIONAL JEWELER. THEY ARE FAMILY RUN AND ARE ALWAYS FRIENDLY AND COURTEOUS. THEY DID BEAUTIFUL WORK ON MY RING.

THIS STORE HAS A VERY PROFESSIONAL AND COURTEOUS STAFF. THEIR WORKMANSHIP IS SPECTACULAR.

THE JEWELRY ALWAYS LOOKS BEAUTIFUL AFTER IT IS REPAIRED. LOOKS LIKE NEW.

ALWAYS GIVE EXCELLENT SERVICE. VERY PROFESSIONAL. JEWELRY NEVER LEAVES THE STORE.

KOEHLERS WAS VERY RESPONSIVE TO MY NEEDS AND MADE REPAIRS IN A VERY REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME. EXCELLENT CRAFTSMANSHIP AND A JOB WELL DONE. THE STAFF IS VERY POLITE AND GO OUT OF THEIR WAY TO PLEASE THE CUSTOMER.
