My roof deck was constructed poorly and Frank came out to investigate where the leak was coming from. He came out several times to diagnose and patch. The leak was not easy to find but he did find it. Good price and he was quick to respond.

The service was great, and they fixed my leak. The price was great as well. They were very clean, and punctual.

They've done both roofs on our house. Frank was very responsive to all texts and phone calls, very easy to work with. Would definitely use them again and be happy to answer any questions.

The word done on all three buildings has leaked from the time of install.  Joe Loonstyn came out a few times for "patching" and has stopped responding to calls.  Ceilings have collapsed and mold has become a problem in one building.
After multiple attempts to have Mr. Loonstyn honor his 10 year warranty to no avail, this nonprofit has to spend scarce dollars to pursue legal action.
Work is shoddy and customer service is nonexistent.

I called him after a bad experience with another roofer I found on Angieslist. He took a week to get around to giving me an estimate but he was very prompt when I agreed to hire him for the work. We agreed on a date and since I live out of town I showed up on the day they were doing the work. But it was really unnecessary for me to be there. His crew was on the job removing the old roof when I showed up and worked throughout the day, replacing decking and installing new 30-year shingles that we agreed on and which he had purchased. They brought a dumpster to the job, cleaned up and was done by the end of the day. Roof looks great.

Great price. Showed up when he said he would. Roof doesn't leak anymore. Go with Joe.

I am happy with them. I don't have anything negative to say. They did a good job. I will use them in the future if needed.

They are extremely capable. It takes a while to get someone to show up. It took them three tries to find the leak, but when they finally do work, they do it competently. It depends on who you get. They sent a kid who did a terrible job and then sent someone who knew what they were doing. I don't think they are as conscientious as they used to be. The father is a very experienced and competent guy. Some of the workers are not very qualified or caring.

Loonstyn Brothers are also contractors for many homes in the Fairmount Area. Be very cautious of any home built/rehabbed by this company. They do very poor quality work--including roofing. I would caution anyone to think twice before buying a home rehabbed by them. If you do make sure to hire a reputable and honest home inspector. You wont be sorry.

We had a difficult time finding a roofer to call us back since the roof we had was not put on by them. Loonstyn called back and gave an estimate of the work, so we scheduled them as we needed to get the work done by someone! The workers who did the work were not highly professional (they yelled at and to each other). After, there was an odor in our house, which was worse on hot days. We called Loonstyn several times to ask if they would come to our house and smell what we smelled - an odor that began on the day the work was done. The day someone finally came was not hot, there was no detectable odor, and so they said there was no problem. We ended up hiring someone else to completely seal any cracks or small gaps between the drywall and brick (it is an old house which naturally has some small gaps, etc.) and sealing it all off has stopped the odor (we were not able to discover what may have caused it). We have a new roof and no leaking anymore, and that is a good thing.

They showed up on time. My roof doesn't leak anymore. I am pleased with their work, time will tell if it holds up. They did help me in a timely manner.

Called twice for an estimate and they never returned the call.

CALLED, LEFT MESSAGE AND THEY RETURNED CALL. SAID HE WOULD STOP BY AND LEAVE CARD AND FOLLOW UP WITH CALL. NEVER CAME TO MY KNOWLEDGE, NEVER CALLED BACK.

OVERALL, THEY DID A GOOD JOB AT A REASONABLE PRICE. THEY WERE FAIRLY RESPONSIVE WHEN ASKED TO CORRECT PROBLEMS.

I RECEIVED A CALL BACK RIGHT AWAY. WITHIN TWO DAYS I RECEIVED AN ESTIMATE AND THE WORK WAS COMPLETED THE NEXT DAY.

HAS WORKED IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD FOR MANY YEARS. THEY HAVE PROBABLY ROOFED HALF THE HOMES IN FAIRMOUNT!
