My heater stopped working on Sunday. I called Unique and they had someone at my house at 11:00 AM on Monday. The serviceman, Frank, thoroughly checked the heating system. He found the issue, which was a clogged tube, cleared it and the heater was fixed. He was very professional and showed me exactly what he did. There was no upcharge to the initial $29, which was my experience with the last company I called. He also did not try to upsell me on replacing the equipment. I would definitely use them again.

Our gas steam furnace began shutting off last week. We suspected it was a problem with the flue, but as first step wanted to have a technician look at the system. He made sure everything was basically ok and confirmed that the issue was the flue. We will use them again for maintenance as they were responsive, prompt, and efficient.

Ok. Wasn't as detailed as I was hoping.

Doggedly had Lennox replace defective parts. Replaced wrong sized exhaust. Fixed the entire unit. It finally works perfectly! Got service contract. They respond when needed quickly and expertly. Couldn't be more pleased!

The professional allayed my concerns about my heating system--explaining much about how it works--and he addressed a concern about the accuracy of my thermostat. I took advantage of Angies's List $29 fee for this. It did cross my mind that, like others I've called for repairs, that the diabnostic fee might balloon into something significantly higher. Again, Frank let me know right off that he was there to do a diagnostic. He gave me peace of mind, and his professionalism and willingness to explain much to me means that he'll be back. In fact, I asked that I be flagged in early spring, and late fall, to set up can appointment for him to return to take a look at some other things. I was very impressed, and very pleased, and I'm very confident in their skills.

I highly recommend this company. We have had them out for several different things and now have a contract with them for basic services. They are very dependable and when we have had an emergency, they came out quickly. The service people answered all my questions and were very helpful.

Our 1988 heat/AC stopped running Dec 28 2013. Angie's list had a special the previous summer. Unique guys did a $29. checkup on the air conditioner . Nothing wrong, no leaks. We liked their service so we called them Dec 29. We had a diagnosis of a cracked heat exchanger. The tech, showed us a photo taken with his phone of the crack, said the law required it be shut down ???? We were semi-prepared for the idea of replacement- 12 years is the crummy life expectancy of these systems-, so we got a diagnosis, specs & an estimate & signed up. On the 30th several guys showed up with portable heaters and fans which did a nice job of keeping us warm. On Jan 2 the crew arrived, put in the new indoor and outdoor equipment and revised some of the ductwork, installed vents to bypass the brick chimney, useless (since 1988) with new high efficiency gas units, rearranged the related water heater venting lickity split, cleaned everything up nicely and off they went. (I appreciate that they leveled the furnace!) A supervisor came to inspect the work. Minor adjustments were done the next day. We had free maintenance for one year. These guys are good! Wow. We didn't shop for price. An ongoing maintenance contract is $390. p.a. There were several rebates: we had to persevere to get a receipt that enabled us to collect them. Maybe they have cleared up this process. Oddly, the unit on the estimate did not conform to our verbal agreement with the salesman, but the (highest efficiency Carrier) unit they installed did. Check all your receipts carefully as the warranty as well as rebates depend upon it.

My mother's existing gas furnace was in need of replacement (Due to years of maintenance neglect and age), I contacted Unique Indoor Comfort to schedule a visit where the rep could price the job and set-up a date, with the earliest date being the better since my mother was without heat (Luckily we've had a warmer than usual winter so far). Matt came out to visit my mother's home and explained to her exactly what needed to be done, as well as contacting me on my cellphone at work to keep me informed on what was needed. I was completely comfortable with Matt's recommendations, being that he was very knowledgeable and appeared very trustworthy (Wan't trying to sell services that were not needed). The workers came out and replaced the furnace in a day and everything has been working perfectly! My mother is very appreciative of the quick turnaround from Unique Indoor Comfort, and so am I! Thank you Matt for everything!

Everything went well. They came out right away because I didn't have any heat. I was informed that my heating system was in a very dangerous condition. I had a new system installed and everything was completed in one day. I have used this company in another home I own and was so impressed with every thing about them. Their service is superb and I recommend this company very highly. They are thorough, punctual, courteous and very knowledgeable. The experience has been great. I have made this company the only one I will deal with. Their service is that excellent.

I was very pleased. I did call them and I complimented the three men. They were excellent. They came in and I felt very comfortable. They were really great. They moved things for me. I would recommend them. They took a lot of time. They did explain what they did. They really did a good job. They cleaned up.

Absolutely wonderful, the customer service by phone was incredibly friendly and responsive. Call backs were quick as well. They were able to get me in on the day before Thanksgiving booking 2 days in advance and came in at half the cost of the repair as the last company I contacted. The tech was quick and super nice. I will definitely use this company again. I'm sold :)

A filter on the furnace valve was clogged by debris. This was the result of an improper initial installation of the furnace by another contractor. Unique Indoor Comfort measured gaz pressure at the valve and detected a drop when the furnace was supposed to start. They first misdiagnosed the problem (attributing it to a PGW inlet issue) and had to come back a second time to actually fix the furnace, after PGW confirmed the problem wasn't theirs. They only charged the $29.00 of the coupon

tl;dr - We paid Unique $270 to fix 3 small and simple gas leaks in pipe joints; the leaks are still there; they demand more money to fix their sloppy initial work. They don't care about health or safety. It's just a couple days before Thanksgiving and we are left without heat, hot water, or a working oven. Longer version -- We smelled gas in our basement so we called PGW. PGW identified 3 small leaks at the joints in our exposed gas plumbing. They're right at the joints so there's no question where or why. PGW turned off the gas to prevent explosions & toxic fumes. We hired Unique to fix 3 identified (MINOR) gas leaks in our basement plumbing. They came first thing next day - good. They arrived on time - good. BUT THEY CHARGED US $270 for NOTHING. After Unique left, we called PGW and were lucky enough to get a same day appointment to turn our gas on. Yay! Except it turns out the pipes are still leaking, in the same places, and PGW won't turn our gas back on because it's unsafe. We have NO heat. We have NO hot water. It's a couple days before Thanksgiving and we can't cook (gas range). It's Unique's fault, but hey, everybody makes mistakes. So we called them back. Unique wants to charge us MORE to "fix" the SAME leaks (AGAIN). Despite being simple joint leaks, obviously they were never fixed to begin with. Why? How could this happen? Well, PGW told us: "They didn't test the work before they left." Think about that - a company messing about with things that could blow up your house and they don't test. And never even mentioned testing! It was never given to us as an option. When confronted with this statement from the gas company, Unique claimed that it was PGW's fault they "couldn't" test the leak because the gas was turned off and locked (for safety). But if you google "How to fix a small gas leak" you will see all kinds of how-to guides that show exactly how to test it without running explosive gas through the pipes. Unique simply didn't bother. Repeat: This stuff can blow my house to smithereens, but Unique was too sloppy to test it with a cheap bicycle pump like in a YouTube How-To video. Thankfully PGW is more careful, or we could have suffered from gas inhalation... or worse! Unique refuses to fix their error. We spoke to the head of Unique and he very specifically refused. They want us to shell out more money for them to come back and "fix" the pipes again. He made a bunch of excuses about how it's PGW's fault for locking the gas meter. But if PGW hadn't locked the gas, gas would still be leaking into our basement because Unique didn't fix a d*** thing! Finally, my husband said, "Fix it, or we'll issue a credit card chargeback." Unique said "Fine, go ahead." Yes, that's customer service that inspires confidence. Bottom line: If you care about safety and comfort, do not trust Unique. But if you like excuses, sloppy work, wasted time, danger, and extra charges... fine, go ahead.

I called Unique after another technician diagnosed that our brand new heater's transformer had melted. That tech did not want to fix it. Unique sent someone right over, which I really appreciate. The tech was very punctual and professional, but did not show up with the part after I gave them the make, model and part needed. They charged me $95 for looking at the broken part, then left. The second tech they sent two days later came at the vey tail of the window provided, but was courteous and professional. However, the job worked out to be about $300 an hour. The $40 part took them three days to get, though it was readily available at several Home Depot locations. So, I give them a 50/50 recommendation them based on their timeliness and professional demeanor, but they were not familiar with my heating unit and they were astronomically expensive. By the way, PECO came out after it became clear that we had an open neutral coming from the street. None of the 3 people who looked at our heater could tell us why the transformer melted. All 3 said it was probably just bad from the factory. Not true. We had a genuine (and dangerous) electrical issue that could have burned out every electronic device in our house.

They showed up within the expected time and where able to inform us where we have problems. We knew we had issues with our thermostat and that was confirmed by the technician. The tech was polite and was able to confirm the thermostat issue, we had no problem with him. Our current model thermostat has been recently discontinued but he thought there may be 1 or 2 in stock at their warehouse. He put a call in to have the office contact me to (a) confirm there was one available (b) work out a price (c) discuss the possibility of upgrading the thermostat. He did his job and said I should receive a call within 2 days. After 3 days I received no call so I called them and discussed the issue with the person answering the phone. She said she would confirm what was available and then would contact me within 2 days. It's now around a month and I have not heard back. A new thermostat for our system is a pretty expensive item and I suppose if they want me to fall through the cracks then my business is not that important to them. Initial service was all fine, but the follow up for a good sale was pathetic.

I called on Friday 10/23 to schedule an appointment for an annual inspection/ maintenance for our very old, temperamental gas boiler. I also said I need a diagnosis for a chattering sound when one of the zones kicked on. I was quoted $115 for the inspection/ maintenance and $95 for the diagnosis. Because my husband and I both work full time I had limited availability for a tech to come out so the woman on the phone (sorry didn't catch her name!) asked if Joy could call me back because she was more familiar with the scheduling. No problem. By Monday I had not heard from Joy so I called the office back and spoke to Amanda, she was very apologetic that no one had reached me back to schedule, she said they would waive the $95 diagnostic because they were already coming out, and got me in the next day. She was very nice, professional, handled the situation perfectly. The office called when the technician was on his way so we could make sure someone was at the house. Chris arrived in the time frame as promised, he was professional, friendly, and very knowledgeable. He completed the inspection and annual maintenance. In the process his diagnosed the problem with the zone valve control and showed my husband the part that was malfunctioning. What I was most impressed with was Chris told me husband that the part was easy to replace and sold at the local hardware store, he put our best interest ahead of the company bottom line. This is the second time that Unique Indoor Comfort has been out to fix our heater (remember it is very old and temperamental) and in both scenarios they could have made more money by replacing parts themselves but were honest kind people that thought of the impact on us before their own gain. I will use them for every heating/ air conditioning job in the future- without a doubt. I will tell everyone I know if they need someone to use this company. They are the best!

Provider double booked the original appointment so they sent a different guy out about 15 minutes late which wasn't a huge deal. Bob was nice, knew exactly what I wanted, listened, and provided adequate solutions for what I was trying to correct. My only complaint is the price, which is becoming the norm for contractors operating in the hot real estate market of Conshohocken. Consider the following: I provided the humidifier and all the parts needed. You can find multiple A rated Angieslist HVAC companies providing a humidifier AND doing the install for roughly $450. I was quoted $410 for just the labor. As I pointed out to Bob in my email, every other provided said it would be about 2 hours labor. $210 an hour to install a humidifier? Seems a bit off. That leaves us with $795 of the original $1205 quote. The Aprilaire purifier model 3210 can be found online for a retail price of $169.00. So, $626 for materials and labor. From talking to Aprilaire and the other HVAC quotes we received, the consensus is that it's about a 3 hour install job. Right around that $200 an hour labor rate for HVAC, which is quite a bit higher than the average. In the end all other quotes we were given ranged about 30-44% cheaper and all came from other local Angieslist A rated HVAC companies. Good people, possibly great work, but if you know your prices then you will know you can find much better elsewhere without sacrificing quality, regardless of what Unique Indoor Comfort may try and imply.

Was very impressed by the professionalism, attention, and knowledge throughout the entire process. We started with a initial service call as our furnace was not working. During this visit by a technician I was shown the a few components (including heat ex changer) were faulty. We then decided to met with a sales consultant (60-90 minute meeting) who walked us through our options in a friendly and low-pressure manner. I learned a lot about furnaces, their life-cycle, and some of the pros and cons for our options during our discussions. This info matches what I was able to find on the internet which reinforced my initial very good first impressions. The installation went very well and was impressed by the work. Everything was done as described. They were on-time and cleaned up well afterwards. We are happy with the decision to work with them and also happy with the end result. The follow-up, attention to details, and low-pressure approach were much appreciated. I have the impression that they pay very close attention to the right way to install a system as opposed to focusing on "selling you something" and then just "slapping it in." I am usually very skeptical when working with a vendor for the first time, but these guys were great. I am happily surprised that I don't have anything negative/constructive to share here as the experience was very good from end-to-end.

We have had several occasions to use the services of Unique Indoor Comfort. In the fall of 2014, Unique replaced two propane heating units at our home. After the installation, we noted the smell of propane outside our house. We contacted Unique Indoor Comfort, and they told us to contact our propane supplier. We insisted that they evaluate our heaters, and they ultimately agreed to do so. They had failed to install the conversion kits from natural gas heating units to propane. This meant that (1) the installation was not safe, (2) the excess amount of propane damaged the heaters, and (3) the heaters had consumed an excess amount of propane. Unique replaced our heaters in a timely manner. Following the replacement, we smelled propane inside the house. Unique once again came to our home, and discovered two propane leaks from tubing joints that they had installed. Again, a major safety concern. We turned the heaters off leaving us without heaters until they sealed the leaks. Recently, they came to our home to perform preventative service for our two AC units. Following that, one of the AC units failed. Unique found that the AC unit had failed because of filthy heat exchangers, despite recently servicing and giving the unit a clean bill of health. Three strikes, and Unique is out. We cannot recommend this company to anyone. The only positive part of our experience is their technician Frank who appears professional and competent, and who has bailed us out of difficulty created by others in Unique on two of the three occasions.

The gentlemen who came out were nice and timely. However, I never received a quote. No one followed up. I'm sure they do a good job (the reviews were why I called them!) and maybe I just fell through the cracks but that just didn't sit right with me. I wouldn't feel comfortable hiring a contractor I can't even get a quote from.
