Stone Masters inc is a stone fabrication showroom and factory. We fabricate and install countertops, vanities, fireplaces, tub surrounds and bars made from Granite, Soapstone, Quartz and Marble. Our showroom features over 500 stone slabs, sinks, faucets and tile for backsplash.

Integration with our kitchen general contractor was seemless. The technician came when expected to measure the template. At that time he discussed and confirmed all options and made certain that we understood what we were getting. The Installation crew arrived exactly when scheduled and completed the job quickly and professionally. Seams in the granite are nearly invisible - the best that I've ever seen.
The measure of a company is often seen in how they perform under adversity. During the installation there was a power failure which pretty much left the crew unable to do anything but carry in the granite and put it in place. The crew called the office and were told to wait at least an hour to see if the power came back on. We noticed that a neighbor's house had power, and the crew helped run long extention cords to the neighbor's house so that the job could be completed. Couldn't have asked for better service.

Stone Masters' price was right in line or slightly cheaper with quotes we received from other fabricators. Plus, they sealed our granite once before and after install. We were able to have the project completed exactly one week from selecting the granite to installation. The only minor complaint I would have is that when they removed our countertops, they punched two holes in our wall with the crowbar and didn't patch them up.

After the backsplash was completed, I had contacted Ann Marie about an area that didn't look finished especially with one tile that stood out from all the others. Ann Marie's response to me was "my installer" said everything looked the same, etc. Ann Marie didn't seem to care about what I was saying as the customer. She just kept saying "her installer". Then instead of sending someone out she asked me to send photos. I did send the photos and when she got back to me the following day, she was very argumentative with me. I reminded her that I was the customer and I'm the one that has to be happy with the final outcome....not her "installer". The installer didn't take care of "my area of concern" regarding the backsplash and the granite either. I thought he just took the easiest route and of course, Ann Marie said "it looks fine to her".
I will not even have them come back to fix the issue with the tile because I don't want deal with them anymore. I would not recommend them to anyone!
"We are sorry you are not happy. As we have already offered both verbally and in an e-mail, we would be happy to replace the one tile that the home owner does not like within the backsplash that we installed for her. All backsplash prices are publically posted on our website, put in writing in the form of a written proposal and then both the proposal and contract are signed before any work is scheduled. The homeowners opted for an additional “Pencil surrounded tile inset” at $250 to go behind her range thus bringing the total to $1145. Both the cost of the tile and tile inset are clearly in writing on both the signed estimate and signed contract. ($895 + $250 = $1145) Natural stone is a product of nature and has variation from tile to tile. We know this fact and are happy to replace the tile that she does not like. The contract which the homeowners signed anticipates this "customer preference and selection of individual tiles" so it stipulates that a responsible decision maker would be present to inspect and approve all tiles during the installation. She chose to be absent and left her husband to make those decisions. Since it took one day to set all her tiles and the following day to grout them, she still had the opportunity (over night) to inspect the work and say she did not like one of the tiles before it was grouted. She said nothing. Her husband loved the work and was present both days. He signed an “Acceptance Form” stating he liked the work and it was all done to his complete satisfaction. There is a pre-existing 4 inch granite backsplash that was installed by someone else prior to our ever entering her home. We would be happy to polish the ends of that backsplash (that we did not install, quote or charge for this added service) while we are there replacing the one tile that she does not like. Our price and contract mandate that the customer be present and approve all work during installation so as to eliminate any miscommunication of expectations. We can not anticipate or guess which one tile out of the hundreds we installed she may not like. Each and every natural stone tile is a unique product of nature. With beauty in the eye of the beholder, the customer (not our sales person) must be onsite to inspect and select individual tiles. This is part of our contract, for exactly this reason. We are sorry you are upset and would like to make it right. However, she must be present, and point to any specific issue she want us change for her, free of any charge."
