I have had Highmark Blue Cross for years. I have never had any problems with any element of their service. I have been pleased with them and will continue using them until my company goes elsewhere.

My insurance is kinda expensive, but theres quite a bit of coverage. No dental, which I wish there was, but everything else seems good with the insurance

The agent gave my daughter a lot of helpful information concerning plans available to her. She gave her the benefit packages to look at and contacted the main office which could send her the applications she needed. This office is an information office only and cannot write policies. The agent also discussed the different plans and instructed my daughter how to complete the application. However, some of the information was inaccurate which my daughter found out later (concerning doctor fees after her allowable number of covered visits were used up). The information provided was helpful and it was easier talking face to face with someone rather than just getting information over the phone.

Overall, I am pretty pleased with the company. The only thing that bothers me is the lack of coverage for ambulance services.

They are very friendly when I have questions. the coverage is exactly what they say with no surprises. They let me know in advance of aprox amount I would have ot pay or co pay. Pleasant customer service reps.

I love that I can get my routine well woman visits at no cost but everything else is very expensive. I have the HDHP with a HSA.

No probems, fair price, reasonable coverage. If I'm ever between jobs again, I will use them.

I have been using this provider for about a year now and they have been overall decent. My first encounter with them was a mistake in the beginning coverage date. I was to start my coverage on the 25th of September last year, so I scheduled a doctors appt for the 30th. A week later I got a bill for $450 from my doctor because they said I had no insurance. I called the company and advised them of the problem and they basically stated that it was a problem on the end of my employer. If I could get my employer to call them and change the date then they would pay for it, but my employer had already submitted the paperwork and wouldn't call them. Highmark stated they noticed that there was an issue, but that they weren't allowed to back date insurance coverage (even though they just activated it on the wrong date). This was my first time with insurance through my employer so the whole experience was confusing and irritating since I ended up having to pay the $450 to the doctor anyway, even though I should have been covered. Since then I haven't had any other issues with them, although at this point I have only used them for regular insurance claims and haven't really had to deal with them much anyway.
