My sister had used Blake's Florist for her wedding in 2008, and recommended them to me - she had chosen a beautiful autumn arrangement for the bridal party and her bouquet (in particular) of peach/pale pink roses were simply elegant and obviously memorable. I walked in to schedule an appointment and was very surprised how large the store was and how visually appealing the floral displays and decocrations were set up. Many small crafty decorations were for sale which were very shabby chic, cute not cheapy looking and affordable. An appointment was made quickly and easily and I returned to see Margaret the following week. Margaret was polite, welcoming, and sweet. I described the type of flowers that I wanted and was given some additional suggestions along the same color line. I ended up ordering a white gardenia for my hair, my bridal bouquet with white roses, blue hydrangeas, and green hypericum berries. My bridesmaids (4) had the same bouquet just smaller, and my 2 flower girls had white baskets with roses and blue hydrangeas. Ribbons were placed at the base of each bouquet also light blue, and white and blue ribbons cascaded off of the flower girls baskets. Because of Brazilian tradition, boutineers were not needed in our wedding. I declined the corsage for my mother's dress because of the material of her gown, and I know she wouldn't like wearing a wrist corsage. We also ordered a white rose to present to the Blessed Mother (catholic ceremony). The baskets and bouquets were delievered as promised, about an hour and a half before the photographer on our wedding day. Seeing how beautiful they were made the morning all that more exciting. My gardenia for my hair was able to be picked up earlier at 8:30, so that I could have it for my 9:00 hair appointment. The flowers were delievered in vases/bucket to keep in water to keep them fresh. After our first set of photos were taken a rose bud fell off of one of the flower girls baskets, and later a rose bud fell out of the matron of honors bouquet, but the way the arrangement was made, you honestly couldn't tell. I had thought the price was more than I wanted to spend, but other brides, and coworkers convinced me that that was an acceptable price - also considering my time constraint I presented. Overall, I was very happy with our bouquets and the touch of blue flowers held by the bridesmaids was exactly what I wanted to see in our bridal party pictures. I would be happy to recommend Blakes Florist to another bride to be.
