O'MALLEY MOVING & STORAGE

They tried to stretch this small move into an all day event, billing $150/hr. They started billing at 7:30am when they left the yard and it took an astounding hour to get to our house (less than 5 miles). They didn't put a single box on the truck until 9am. When we finally asked them to pick up the pace, they did. We ended up moving many of the boxes ourselves to speed things up. If you want a company who does an ok job at a glacial pace, this company is for you. Later found scratches on multiple pieces of furniture. Would never use again. Learned for next time to only go with a company willing to give a flat price for the move, no more hourly 'estimates'. 

Sub-par service. Repeated "smoke breaks". Lots of scratches, chips and dents. No attention to detail.

This company is horrible! Our move was set for a Saturday, and we were told Saturdays had a 6 hour minimum. I knew the move would not take this long since I'd just vacated my own 1 bedroom apartment and 3 movers took 1 hour to empty it, but since I wanted a Saturday move, I had no choice but to agree to their rules. On Thursday evening before our move date they called to say they had to come TOMORROW at 8 a.m. Again, we had to agree since it seemed too late to find another company. 8:00 the next day comes and goes and finally at 10 someone arrives to explain truck difficulties, we're waiting for parts, etc. When did the move start? 4 pm! Guess what! They still wanted us to pay for 6 hours up front even though it was no longer a Saturday move and their rule shouldn't have applied. By the time the movers got to our new home it was pitch black and we had to put our car's headlights shining into the truck so they could see. I would never ever recommend O'Malley to anyone! Beware!

Unfortunately, I was not overly impressed by this company's reliability. I placed a call to the company asking for a quote. I was happy to hear that someone would be coming to my house to give an accurate estimate -- other companies were more vague about costs. However, they cancelled our scheduled appointment at the last minute but then rescheduled for the next day. Of course, there was another problem with them arriving to give me an estimate on the second day. Basically, I wasted two days home waiting for them to arrive and I still have no estimate and little faith in how reliable they would be on ''moving'' day. I would, however, like to add that everyone I spoke to on the phone seemed to be helpful. I would just like more confidence in a moving company. So, my search continues....

These were all soft bound boxes. They used 2 trucks to balance out. They brought in 8 guys. It took 200 boxes.
