I called a few other providers including this one and they were the only one who were able to get out right away but not only that but they were there within the hour. They did a great job of getting the water out and taking all the steps to re mediate the damage and get me ready for the remodel.

Our insurance co. considered the loss as catastrophic. Total loss at this time is est to be around 60k..We had a foot of water in basement in a vacant home for sale from an upstairs water pipe that broke. Subsequently 3k gallons of water ran through the home before our real estate agent discovered the flood the next day. Servicemaster manager, Keith did respond promptly and in two days they began to clean up water damage. Where they have FAILED.... 1. Before I signed off I pointed out to Keith that cabinets and over 20 bags of trash and drywall that they had piled up in the garage. He said they would be removed...They did not. They also left standing water in appliances. Thus caused further damage and clean up to appliances 2. They did not remove all the damaged hardwood flooring 3. They were told to leave small one ft square samples of various ruined carpeting for insurance adjuster to inspect. That they did not leave. Due to issue one and two; the contractor who was hired to do the renovation work had to be paid additional for the clean up that Servicemaster charged on invoice to insurance company and did not fully perform. Servicemaster's invoice for the cleanup was @11,736. Insurance co issued a payment for @11,493. The difference being the cleanup work not performed properly. Bank needed Servicemaster to resubmit invoice to the @11,493 so that Servicemaster could be paid and we made said request to Servicemaster via an email. About two hours ago I received a telephone call from the manager at Servicemaster, Keith. His opening statement to ask me if I was aware of the and quot;nastygramand quot; my wife sent to his office manager about above. The so called and quot;nastygramand quot; was an email that did not contain one single nasty word but simply stated what we were told to request by our bank so they will release the escrow funds to pay him. He stated the reduced amount issued by insurance co was as a result of monies Servicemaster had paid to plumbing co that insurance co would not pay for and we would have to pay. Insurance co. stated that it was for them to pay the contractor for the cleanup that Servicemaster did not complete. Keith confirmed that debris was not removed but stated it was left so contractors could measure cabinets...of course that has nothing to do with not removing all the floor or over 20 contractor size trash bags and loose bad dry wall. Conversation was contentious as I found Keith very insulting. From his beginning statement referring to the professional email sent to Servicemaster as a Nastygram, then saying when he met me I did not seem thin skinned and kept saying WOW that I found his words and attitude unprofessional. I reminded him that I am a retired Phila PD Homicide Sgt and then spent time in retail management as a district manager and then became a clinical director in family therapy and was hardly thin skinned. That if one of my mangers addressed a consumer the way he is addressing me they would be suspended on the spot. I assured him that we wanted any and all vendors to be paid promptly and properly for the work they did. I advised Keith that we have retained an attorney to handle any disputes we could not amicably resolve.Keith stated that was a and quot;wasteand quot; of our time and money as attorneys do not know about these issues. I told him our attorney surely does as he is a Real Estate attorney and said as much that would be what Servicemaster would say.. Keith asked for his name and what area of law he practices. He was given his name as well as advised he in an officer on the county bar. Keith scoffed and then said and quot;well that does not matter to me.and quot; I stated, and quot; that was fine it does not need to matter to you, he is who he is..a RE Attorney.and quot; Keith said he will amend the invoice minus money he states insurance co would not pay for plumbers part and will send us a separate invoice for the @240.00 for the part. He does not believe that insurance co was correct in reason we were given that money was deducted to pay for the contractor to clean up what Servicemaster did not complete. We are a senior professional people who always pay their debts. We Will pay the debt. But be assured Servicemaster will receive a bill for the work performed by another vendor for work they failed to complete. The same plumber was out to said property just two weeks before to do the annual furnace inspection and found NOTHING wrong or ANY service was needed. Unsure if furnace did fail and heat went off and caused an upstairs pipe to break or if the foot of water in basement caused the furnace to shut off...its the ole which came first the chicken or the egg. In either case same plumbing co is who we always used anyway and they give a thirty day guarantee...so whatever the cause if the heater part went that should have been covered. Side note...Everyone involved from consumer to Servicemaster to our bank to the contractor all agree that insurance co has been a disaster to work with. From taking a month to inspect property waiting for reps from Minnesota to drive out to do inspection, to then month long delay issuing an initial payment, to having to then take two additional weeks to re-issue same initial payment because they had wrong name on check to giving everyone differing accounts of the claim. I acknowledge this has been the major issue...After multiple complaints insurance co took action and had out claim reassigned to another adjuster. HOWEVER, this aside it does not give an excuse to Servicemaster for incomplete work and poor customer service skills. Seems Servicemaster may have to learn that POOR customer service and insults to its customers will cost them far more in bad reviews and word of mouth...then the @$240.00 that they insist they are due above what insurance co said they were due. In spirit of FULL disclosure... my wife is a Quality Director for a major healthcare insurance company..(Thus NOT the homeowner ins co).So we know what quality is and is not...STAY AWAY from Servicemaster and the good neighbor insurance company. ......ALSO..we have an outstanding contractor so look for a GREAT review when work is completed.
Description of Work: POOR UNPROFESSIONAL ATTITUDE ETC...REVIEW WORTH READING IN FULL....Called two ther water restoration companies who were both a week behind and could not accept job....On the plus side..Servicemaster was available did respond promptly to a water leak on 2nd fl. that went through all three levels of home and left a foot of standing water in basement , They had plumbing co come to home and restore heat so cleanup could begin.

My parent's home had a water heater malfunction in an attic at their condo on a Friday. The damage was extensive to multiple floors of their home, taking out the ceiling of one bedroom and flooding carpets on two floors. When contacted, Service Master took immediate ownership of the problem, sending a team of four who arrived at 11:30 PM on the same day and worked until 4:00 AM pumping out water and salvaging items. They were courteous, professional and extremely hard workers. They have continued with the demolition portion of the project and I can't believe how efficient they are, taking care to pack and store everything properly and clean up any mess before they leave. So, to Service Master, I say guys...thank you so much for going above and beyond on this project. I don't know what we would have done without you!

I am a 24 year old single woman who just purchased her first home, independently, in August. I had a home inspection, and everything appeared to be in working order. In October, about 2.5 months after I moved in, I turned on my heater for the first time after a weekend away from home. I started to smell something funny, and noticed smoke coming out of the vents. When I ran downstairs to the basement, I saw flames all around my heater. I grabbed my dogs and ran out of the house. I called my insurance company, State Farm, and was told about their Premier Service program. I found Service Master through this program. Scott from Service Master promptly set up an appointment to see my home. He met me at my convenience, and made sure that I did not have to miss work for the appointment. He was very helpful and walked with me through the home. He listened to all of my concerns, and talked me through what the repair process would look like, so that I was comfortable with everything that would be going on in my home. The work was initially schedule to begin the week of Thanksgiving, but Scott could tell I was disappointed at this news (I was living in a hotel with 2 dogs half an hour from my job). Scott went above and beyond to push the work up earlier in the month, and he had me back in my home BEFORE Thanksgiving! I was so grateful and relieved to come back home for the holidays. The scope of the work: The upstairs of my home had already been cleaned for soot/smoke. Service Master had to rip out some paneling and dry wall that was damaged and they patched it. They had to repaint my laundry room, basement, and entire main living space and kitchen. They did an excellent job and I have clean, even paint throughout my whole home. They contracted out to replace my heating/cooling system and my water heater. They brought someone in to clean all of my duct work. They repainted all of my trim, and replaced my basement ceiling and lights. They paid great attention to detail, and were quick to follow up on anything that I asked about, even if it was something small. Scott was always available by phone to answer my questions or concerns. I do not think there was ever a time that he did not get back to me within half an hour. Everyone who worked on my home was friendly and very willing to help me in any way possible. They were also very trustworthy- I left a key to my home outside in a lockbox for approximately 3 months and I had no issues. I am very satisfied with the service that was provided to me by Scott from Service Master. He is a wonderful asset to the company and it was clear that he really cared about making the process as smooth as possible for me. I would recommend Service Master to anyone in need of work in their home.

I called at 11pm and received a phone call back within 5 minutes and they were out my house within 2 hours beginning to clean up. They were very responsive any time I contacted them. They were professional. They were able to explain everything that they were doing and give me recommendations in working with my insurance company. There cost was much below what my insurance had estimated. I was really pleased with the services that were provided. They would be my first phone call if I had another similar situation.
Description of Work: I had a pipe behind my toilet break which led to water going though out my home for several hours. Service master identified which areas had moisture, extracted water from basement, dried out all areas of the home, cleaned up some of the damage.

This company was contracted by my insurance company to clean up my basement after flooding from Tropical Storm Lee. They did an excellent job, arriving on time, disposing of items that could not be saved, and repackaging items that were salvageable. They even took my pictures out of albums and laid them out to dry, so that they could be saved. They then cleaned the entire basement and killed the mold. They worked hard and were very professional. I highly recommend their services.
