FAULKNER BODY WORKS

I took my car on the scheduled date they gave me when I got my estimate. The scheduled date was a month following my estimate. I got there and the secretary couldn't find my appointment listed so she got Russ, the Nationwide service manager rep, and after about 10 minutes he came out to tell me my appointment had been canceled becuase the insurance company "closed" the claim. I asked him who at the insurance company he had spoken to and he said, "No one, it came through the "com-p-ter."" So I drove my car home and contacted the insurance company. They did not "cancel" the claim; the claim was to be paid after service to the vehicle and the insurance claims advisor stated he had talked to Russ regarding this ahead of time. Yet, Russ told me otherwise and lied to my face regarding the claim being canceled. It is an incompetent operation they have going and I wouldn't trust them with the simplest repairs. I cannot recommend enough finding a differnt body shop.

We hit a deer with our car the first week in November. Decided on Faulkner Body Works since Faulkner is a well known name in the area. They were one of the providers our insurance company suggested. We made an appointment right away to get an estimate done and they promptly got back to us. We scheduled the repairs to be done. The repairs included a hood, headlight, bumper, and headlight washer mechanism. We had issues with getting updates from the garage. They wouldn't call us about anything. Any time we wanted to know the progress, we had to call them. Apparently they had a hard time finding parts, which is understandable because our car (Saab) is not made anymore. Weeks went by and the car was still sitting waiting to have work done. They kept telling us, it'll be done tomorrow or the day after. The days would pass and we would not be contacted. After calling them again, they would say, Friday or Monday. Friday or Monday would pass and no phone call. We would call again and they would again push off the end date. I just wanted them to be straight with me. If it was going to take three more weeks, I just wanted to know that. After pushing off the end date 4-5 times, the car was finally done 6 weeks and 2 days later. They did a very nice job and you can't tell the car was ever damaged. They couldn't ever find the headlight washer, but we just chose to go without it. Although they did a nice job in the end, I would probably choose another garage should I need one in the future. I felt like I should have been kept in the loop more and I was getting annoyed when they kept telling me it would be done, then it wasn't numerous times.

Estimate was easy to obtain for my insurance provider. The work was scheduled promptly, and completed when promised. The car was washed and the interior was cleaned before it was returned to me. This is the third time I have had collision repairs at this shop. The two most recent were covered by my auto insurance and I paid only the deductible amount, but about 18 months age I went to them with a broken driver's side, power front seat, in my Honda Odessey. I was told that a replacement would probably cost $1500. Since I was paying for this out of my pocket they offered to search for a used seat. It took 5 months to find one in Ohio, which they had shipped to their shop and installed in my Honda for less than $500. During the time they were searching, they kept me informed of their progress. I think this is extraordinary and I would recommend them to any of my friends who need auto body work done.

It was all covered by insurance. It was fine. I was very pleased.

My 2008 Subaru Legacy was in an accident on April 30th. The car was towed to Faulkner Auto Body to be repaired. This is the recommended garage for my Insurance Company, Erie. The car was to be completed on May 20th. If I would not have called on the 20th, I would not have known that the car was not completed. Evidently, they ordered the wrong parts. I can't believe they just found out on May 20th that the parts they ordered were wrong. The estimated told me on the 20th, my car would be done today, May 23rd. I just called them at 3:00 p.m. and was told the part did not come in. Again, if I would not have called, I would not have known. The estimator is telling me know the car will be don tomorrow on May 24th. I would not recommend this garage to anyone. I have had work done at this garage before, and have never had this problem before. I have been very patient, but this is terrible. I guess what is funny is this garage is an authorized Subaru Garage - don't you think they would know what parts to order?
