About us
What is it about us that distinguishes us from the competition? We are locally owned and operated, with the benefit of being part of an international franchise. This is also a benefit to our customers because we are familiar with local codes, customs, and practices and we exchange best practices and ideas with all the other Handyman Matters franchises. With the additional benefit of a system-wide database composed of over 400,000 completed jobs, we can provide our customers with accurate estimates over the phone in most cases. Using our time-plus-materials business model, we inform our customers up front of what they can expect to pay and give them the opportunity to schedule an appointment for a specific time at their convenience. One phone call and one appointment and your job is completed.

"We never scheduled an appointment with this Customer. We asked them to email some photos to us and never heard from them. I won't say that it's impossible for us to miss an appointment, but we do have a 3 step process for scheduling our Craftsmen and getting them onsite."

We've been extremely happy with the work done by the folks at Handyman Matters, which is why we kept coming back to them time and again. When a project was started, they stayed on it until it was done and within the estimated time. If a modification was required by the inspector, the HM foreman was ready with recommendations and solutions. When we had to be off-site, HM gave us regular updates on progress and frequently sent images of the work being done.
That's not to say that every project was sunshine and roses. With any complex project, there is bound to be the occasional bump in the road. As I noted above, we were required to be off-site when a staircase rebuild was being done. The lion's share of the work was done efficiently and to our satisfaction. We were disappointed upon our return, however, with some of the finish and trim details. This is where choosing HM made all the difference. Erin, the owner, was on-site immediately to evaluate the problem. She arranged for the detail work to be corrected with no hassle and definitely to our satisfaction.
