"Thank you for your brutally honest post. The employee-owners at IT Landes take great pride in delivering prompt, professional service at a fair price. Obviously, from your perspective, we failed to deliver. Refrigerant leaks are among the most difficult problems to diagnose and repair in our trade. As we review our recent work for this unit, our notes indicate that this system [originally installed by others] has been a source on ongoing problems for the past few seasons. This summer was the first time IT Landes worked on this unit. We added refrigerant to this system and offered to perform a system leak-check; which you declined. It was our understanding that you requested a price to replace the system [rather than spend more money on the old system]. We promptly provided pricing as requested. We take exception to your assertion that we would willfully misdiagnose a problem in order to sell new equipment. That is totally contrary to our culture. As is always the client’s prerogative, you had another firm provide their opinion. We are often the firm called in to provide 2nd opinions as well. From your post we see they found and fixed one leak. We wish you well with future operation of the equipment. Thank you again sharing your story. We will use your experience as a teaching opportunity for our staff.
