He came out the same day, he was very responsive, and he even went above and beyond normal hours. He was very professional, very friendly, and very nice to work with.

A few days before the service date, while mowing, I noticed a hole developing next to the sewer clean out pipe. Experience told me something underground has been washing out. I liked the look of the Angie's listing for Grim Plumbing and Heating and called Charlie. He was on site in less than an hour, agreed with the prognosis and scheduled repairs for the next morning at 08:00.
Mr. Grim arrived early and the work began. The sewer clean out pipe is located between the gas meter and service line and the air conditioner leaving about three feet between the two meaning that any digging had to be done by hand. It took Mr. Grim about two hours to dig a hole about three feet by four feet by over five feet deep to get to the problem. that is a lot of digging in a very tight place and Mr. Grim was VERY careful to place all of the dirt on the plywood he placed near the dig site to protect the grass. The problem was the sewer connection appeared to have been installed incorrectly using a Furnco rubber coupling to connect the apparently misaligned building sewer line to the city line that appeared to have been more that an in of so lower. The rubber Furnco connector split across the diameter of the sewer line allowing the building discharge to flow into the ground. the vertical clean out pipe was also connected to the system with a Furnco fitting. How this got passed the inspector in 1994 I do not know.
Mr. Grim Corrected to difference in elevations between the building and city sewer line, ensuring the correct amount of fall, bedding the piping in gravel, restored the sewer line and the clean out by hard piping both, as it should have been done originally and finished by motoring up the block wall on both sides.
I will ask for Mr. Grim to help with my future needs in the future, and strongly recommend Charlie to anyone with Plumbing and Heating needs. I do not think you can find anyone more fair and professional as Charlie Grim.
