The $35 charge included the inspection and tune up as well as the flapper replacement. I apologize if there was a misunderstanding and you were not happy with only being charged $35. GM"

"Member: I want to apologize for any inconvience this may have caused you. Pricing for repairs on hot water heaters that were not installed by our company would incur labor charges. Normally in these cases you would have been refunded the parts costs once we received compensation for any parts that were covered under warranty. We cannot always guarentee warranty coverage unless we installed the hot water heater due the fact that the manufacturer may not honor the warranty. We have been in this predicament serveral times and then we do not receive any compensation and are thus out money for a warranty that was not installed or purchased through our company. We can only guarentee and honor our own warranty. The technicians are advised to not discuss outside warranties until we can guarentee coverage at which time we then refund any compensation we receive from the outside warranty carrier. I apologize for any misunderstanding and that we did not better explain ourselves. As far as the pricing for repairs I do apologize that you weren't happy with the pricing. In the future, should you choose to use us again, if you have any kind of concerns you should call the office immediately and see if there are any kinds of specials, discounts or coupons we can offer. I do know we are a bit more expensive on our hot water heater replacements but we do give full parts and labor warranties on the units for a minimum of at least 6 years.
