I am not happy with one aspect of the service.  The manager came out and I ordered the gates for the fence.  At that time he said that his laborers were to check the weak spots, but they never did that work.  They did come out right away and do the work when scheduled.

I called Everlasting Fence for an estimate and they came out the next day to give me one.   I managed to get 2 estimates and theirs' was the lowest. We discussed all aspects of what I wanted done and came to a clear understanding of what would be done.   On the apponted day the installers showed up at the agreeed upon time.   They were very courteous and worked industriously to install the handrail.   They kept me in the loop about what they were doing and asked my input when appropriate.   The installation was very nice and looks wonderful.

This is not the first time I have used this company and I have always been pleased with their responsiveness, professionalism and their work. The come when they say they will, they do a good job and they clean up after themselves. I can't speak to price because I have never gotten estimates- I always just went with Everlasting. I have never been disappointed.

The guys arrived right on time and were great to deal with.  They did a super job on the install.  No major issues occurred during the process.  It was a 1 1/2 day job, with most of the work having been done on the first day. The end result is exactly what I wanted.  Better functioning and great looking.

I had the salesman come out and look the job over for an estimate.  Everything was good, we discussed the roots in the yard and altered the fence to make it easyer to install. It took several weeks before the install started. I was promised the fence would be completeed in one day. When the crew arrived late in the morning i again asked if the job would be done that day and was told yes. As the day went on the crew came to me and said that if it didnt get finished that day they would come back on Saturday of that week to finish. I was not happy but knew that the job couldnt be done in one day.  The end of the work day came and guess what. The job was not done. The next day I called to find out when on saturday they would be back. The service guy said thats not going to happen and the soonest they would be out would be some time in the next two weeks. I called the salesman and told him that this was not good I am moving into this house with my dogs and now I have to rent another month on my apartment. The answer was I sorry let me see what I can do. The fence was completed the following week. I was not home when it was done. When I came home and looked the job over it was clear that the job was hurryed.  their wasnt enough nails holding on the wire fencing that was installed to the split rail. One gate post is too wide for the gate causing the clasp to just reach the hook. The other two gates one is falling apart. not enough nails to hold it together and the 3rd one I have to readjust the clasp 2 to 3 times a season because everything moves and the gate wont close and latch. At this point I do not want to deal with them anymore.

I had a very positive experience with Everlasting Fence Co.  In particular, Erik was our salesperson / project coordinator.  He is absolutely awesome.  He was very knowledgeable, patient, helpful, and responsive.  The product itself (the fence and the gates) are stunning.  I feel like the fence really makes our home look stately.  Additionally, they had to construct two gates for a very wide opening for our parking space.  This was tricky because the hinges they originally bought turned out to be too weak to hold the gates in place long term.  They probably could have gotten away with just leaving it that way, as I wouldn't have noticed for a few weeks, but the guys were committed to doing a quality job.  They told me of the situation, apologized that it would ultimately cause a delay, but absolutely made the right decision.  Even though I really wanted it to be finished right away, I respected their commitment and am really pleased with the outcome.

I rated them a B on price only because they are not the cheapest game in town, but you get what you pay for.  You really can't argue with the look of the product.

The only negative I had was that I wasn't really impressed with their main office staff.  Whenever I had to speak with them for scheduling, etc., I found them to not be extremely helpful and also uninformed about the details of the project, which was frustrating to me.  Not the end of the world because again, Erik was always there to save the day.  This is certainly not a reason to choose another company, just set your expectations appropriately.  To be fair, Erik put the bar so high that I think I may have been disappointed with just about anyone I talked to!

I asked them to come during a specific week to do the work, which they did.  The two guys who were doing the work ran into a small problem with some underground plastic piping while they were digging one of the post holes, so they needed to stop the installation until I had the problem fixed.  They returned a week later to finish the job.  The men who did the job were very polite, knowledgable and professional.  The finished job looks great.  Very satisfied.

I called 4 fence companies and Everlasting a) had good customer reviews and b) offered the best price for what I wanted which was a cedar wired estate fence along the front and side front border, a cedar shadowbox along the side rear and back of the property and a wire fence along our wooded area...along with 3 gates.  The estimator, Erik, was a pleasure to work with and was very informative.  I found the price so good that I ordered additional fence (originally, I was only going to get a fence for one of our side borders.  Now...as far as the installation goes...

First of all...Jason and Chris did a phenomenal job installing my fence.  They were there early and worked hard.  They maneuvered through some expected obstacles with professionalism and left everything clean and tidy.  My neighbors have stopped by and gushed over the fence...as has my landscaper.  Just an awesome job...simply beautiful.

Steve and Ben arrived around 8am.  Steve made sure he understood what needed to be done and the quickly got to work.  They did an excellent job. When they were all done Steve made sure he answered my questions and that I understood how to work the gate.  I feel I got great service for a great price.

The crew showed up on the date promised and installed the rail with several problems.  First, they drilled a hole into the existing porch roof post which they didn't fix (and couldn't because the porch roof post was capped with aluminum and they would have had to replace the entire post aluminum capping).  The crew didn't mention this to us and we found it after they left.

Second, they installed the porch rail on a slope on both sides of the gate.  Because the gate was installed level, the two sections of sloped porch rail then looked very odd and incorrect right next to the level gate.

Third, they installed the two rail posts on either side of the gate at two different elevations which also looked quite odd.  One of the post caps wasn't even glued down as it should have been.

We contacted them about these issues and they said they would schedule a time to come back.  It took them until August 10th to return (original work date July 7th.)  The owner Bob and the estimator Erik indicated that the hole they drilled in the post would have to be painted because the alternative was to replace the entire porch railing to get all of the railing at the correct elevation.  Essentially we just have to live with their mistake because they won't make it right.

Second, they installed a post bottom decorative covering on one post and had to carve out a section of it to make the railing fit.  This is a major fudge as these decorative post caps are never to be cut.  It looks horrible and is another indication that they just wanted to get done and leave.

Third, they left all of the vinyl shavings on our front porch and didn't clean up.

Fourth, they still didn't glue the post cap which they already knew about.

Finally, several days later when we complained again, Erik left a voice message that we should have asked them to clean up after themselves.  Hmmmm.  Isn't that something you are supposed to just do?

We don't want them to come back to do anything more as they can only make it worse.

9/22/11 - Apparently I should have lowered my porch to accomodate the new porch railing that wasn't installed properly from day one.
Response from Everlasting Fence Co

"After our customer informed us that he was not satisfied with our install, we sent his sales rep out to review the issues. We agreed with him and told him what we could do to remedy the issues and he agreed that our solutions would suffice. The hole was sanded down, epoxy filled and painted and before we moved ahead with other fixes we got our customers approval that the work done was to his standards. We then replaced the 2 posts on either side of the gate and the post closest to the house so we could lower and re-install the railing sections level with the gate and there would be no holes in the posts from where the old screw holes were. Because the front railing section faces the street and sits level we wanted to keep the heights on the side with the gate consistent with that front section as per our customers request. By doing that, the railing section closest to the house got progressively closer to the actual concrete patio (because the slope of the concrete) and ran into the post trim cap (which is intended to hide the seam where the post meets the concrete porch), so we notched it to get the railing to the desired height and level. After finishing the work and cleaning up we informed our customers wife that we were done and she said okay and that her husband has the final say and will be home shortly if you prefer to wait. We went to a local Wawa to get something to eat and our customer called the office to inform us all work was good. Days later we received an e-mail stating that he was actually unhappy with the work still and would just hold money off the final payment and complete work himself. Unfortunately we did forget to put the vinyl cement on 3 post caps, which was an oversight on our part but a quick 5 minute process. We did sweep off their porch, but not to his standards, which we would have went right back to his house to sweep it more. Nothing was fudged with this install as nothing is fudged on any of our installs, and we pride ourselves in our customer satisfaction, as our other reviews prove. Our goal is to walk away from our installs knowing our customers are completely satisfied, and if they are not satisfied we always do what ever is needed to make them happy. We sent our Company owner out to do the work to assure our customer it would get done properly. Unfortunately he prefers we do not return to glue the caps on and re-notch the trim cap cut he is unhappy with. We warranty our railing installations for 5 years because we are confident with our work, this warranty still applies to this job regardless of our situation. For further details please feel free to contact Erik at [email protected] or at (215)886-3539"

One of the owners was good to work with- we changed our mind several times - and came out to fix a problem after the workmen were done.  The work was done well, I had to watch and go over some of the details we had talked about, but they did fix them.

Two men arrived promptly on the morning of July 14, which was important because I was meeting them just before I had to leave for work. They were very courteous and professional. They confirmed the details of the job and then said they'd take it from there. When I returned home from work that day, I saw a beautiful and well-installed cedar fence around my back patio! They later sent an invoice for the exact amount quoted to me, giving me time to inspect the job before paying the final installment (I had to pay a small amount - roughly $300 - ahead of time to reserve the date of the job). At first I thought there may be a problem because the latch on the fence didn't quite fit in correctly and so it didn't lock. But, a few weeks later I realized they must have done that on purpose because the wood settled in and then the lock fit in exactly right. I would certainly recommend Everlasting Fence... several months later the work has held up well and looks great!

Estimate and work were completed in a timely fashion with no additional costs above estimate. Minor complaints include when workers showed up to do the job they were grumbling a bit about the tight space in which they had to work (our house is on a narrow Philadelphia street so width of lot is only 14 feet). However, once they got to work they worked efficiently. Also, the additional gate we had contracted for was cut incorrectly at first and they said they would come back to fix it. I called a couple of days later to ask when they were coming back and person I spoke to said he was not aware that the gate had been made in a way which we were dissatisfied with, but he scheduled the work to be redone and they came back promptly. Everything looked great when finished and we are pleased with how the fence looks. The wood they used looks and smells great

They did a good job. There were a few problems, but they made every effort to correct any issue we had as soon as possible. The workman ship is beautiful, and I have made an appointment for them to come out and treat the fence, as well.
