I specifically talked with John Kindler who could not have been any more professional and personable. I knew that there had been some recent storms in the area and they they were very busy but he was able to fit me into their schedule. They were punctual and professional. The work was top notch and the cost of the repair was very resonable. I could not have been any more happy with the results. I will definitely use them again if I need help.

I called and left message. He called me back and left message stating he was extremely busy but would see what he could do. All I needed was an estimate for a roof. I called and left another message but this time he didn't return my call.

I contacted the owner on Sunday, and left a message about my need for some non-emergency roof repairs. I also stated that a one to two week timeframe would be ideal. The owner called me back on Monday morning to obtain the repair details. Two roof repairmen arrived on Tuesday afternoon, fixed the problem completely, and also gave the rest of my roof an inspection and subsequent clean bill of health. This company is super, and I highly recommend it!

John came out to give us an estimate early in the year (Jan/Feb). He was very friendly and open regarding his concerns. He gave us an estimate by phone & email the next day. We signed a contract with him and agreed the work would be done no later than the end of April. The contract included a list of tasks to complete, the estimated amount, and a provision that capped any increases in the final cost due to unforeseen problems. In the end, the final cost did go up beyond the original estimate, but came in considerably under the cap. When his crew demolished the original gutters on the house they found plenty of rotten wood to be replaced. They also discovered the two porch roofs were covered in a sheet of metal. John and I discussed the options and agreed to lay down plywood over top of the metal rather than attempt to pull off the metal as well. Due to the heavy rains, it took three weeks for them to complete a 5-6 day job, but I always knew before 8 AM whether or not his crew would be there to work. John regularly contacted me to discuss progress and keep me in the loop. John's crew was extremely polite, professional and knowledgeable. When problems arose at the end of the job (neither porch gutter was draining in full - for reasons unrelated to their work), John sent out a handful of guys to resolve them. The price fell at the high end of the estimates we'd received from other contractors, but John's professionalism and regular communication more than made up for it. I would recommend K C Contracting in a heartbeat.

I contacted him for an estimate for a flat roof and he got back to me quickly and referred me to another roofer who does flat roofs.

After being fed up by contractors not wanting to answer questions I had, it was refreshing to deal with John who was willing to answer questions and was very easy to get a long with. By the time I decided to go with John, the weather was already changing and the work couldn't be completed until March. I was concerned that the roof (and possibly the interior) would be damaged from the winter weather so John sent three of his guys out to secure the roof until they were able to start the job. This was all done before I paid anything to John, which didn't happen until 5 months later. When they started the job, they were there for only two days and were very professional, kept in communication with me (as I went to work) and left my property clean. I would definitely reccommend John to anyone and will contact him first whenever I may need work done in the future.

He called me back after I left message, gave me rough quote over phone, said he would be out within 3 weeks, (wasnt an emergency) Came out following week, did work quickly and left. Called to confirm I would send check for what we agreed on.

He was very friendly and punctual. He was willing to work within our budget.

I had gotten an estimate from another company for $24,000, because a representative was canvasing the neighborhood and I thought it would be good for comparison. I called KC contracting and they came in at $15,550 for a similar job with superior materials ( thicker sheating and 30 year dimensional shingles instead of standard 3 tab ).and Their estimate also included new gutters. It was a no brainer. I went with KC. They had other jobs in the pipeline, so I expected to wait about a month. A situation arose involving a family visit and I needed it done sooner so I called John at KC. He said he would see what he could do. A couple of hours later he called back and said he could have a crew at my house the next morning. That was great. A crew of five arrived the next morning at the expected time and went right to work. They found that a facia board was rotted under my old vinyl facia and asked if I wanted it replaced. I agreed to that. John sain they could replace my old vinyl facia in the front and back of the house with new aluminum facia. I gave the go-ahead on that as well. I expected the additional work to cost a few hundred dollars, but it seemed worth that. Well the final cost was $120 over the original estimate because of the additional work and I couldn't be happier with the result. The crew was friendly and courteous and obviously knowledgeable. they showed up on time every morning and offered to bring me back something when they went to lunch. They were done in 3 1/2 days. I thought it would take 5 or more. I am very happy with the job they did.

The experience was very good. John Kindler was very responsive to our questions, concerns, requests. We obtained 3-4 estimates. K C Contracting estimate was the lowest.

I cannot say enough good things about John Kindler and his crew. They are all extremely professional, detail oriented, and take a great deal of pride in their work. Every day, no matter how snowy or icy the weather, they showed up on time in the morning and worked constantly through the day. Because I work out of my home, I appreciated how considerate they were in keeping the noise and disruption to my work day to a minimum. I also greatly appreciated how well they cleaned up after themselves everyday--It made a big difference for my family since we lived in the house while all of this work was going on. In terms of the workmanship, I cannot be more pleased. John and his team were extremely meticulous in planning out how they would install our tile, and the result looks like art. Between poorly installed wallpaper and general abuse, our walls were in sad shape. Now, they look like satin. The new woodwork that they stained and installed is stunning. Even after the "big work" was done, John and his men came back several times to make sure that all the little details were accounted for and that everything was perfect. Another thing that I really like about John is that he is very creative, as well as being a superior craftsman. For instance, we really didn't like the ballusters in the knee walls in our entryway, so he came up with a solution that replaced them with a "window" into our living room that is absolutely gorgeous. I also really valued his advice in selecting paint and woodwork styles. John is also extremely honest and easy to work with. As with any big job, unexpected things come up, and he was very straightforward in discussing them, along with presenting solutions that would give a quality result at a reasonable cost. This is the third and largest project that KC Contracting has done for me. I will not hesitate to call them if I ever need anything else done in the future.

great experience. in both cases, john made time in his busy schedule to take care of these quick jobs for us. we really appreciate the quick turnaround time and responsiveness.

My experience with them was very satisfying. They did a very nice job and I did not even know that they were here. I don't remember the price exactly but they were in the middle of the road pricewise and were full of value. They cleaned up every day and I did not find anything lying around. Everything was good and I have recommended them to others in the past.

Called twice before they got back to me. Were to come and give estimate within one to two days. Came the second day to clean, but I didn't have an estimate yet. Chris called and got me an estimate right away. Okayed the estimate and they got to work. They were very quick and efficient. Even cut down a dead branch that had broken from last winter's heavy snow. This was not in my original request, but they cut it for me anyway. Was very pleased. They were in and out in about 25 minutes.

Excellent. The price was comparable and in some cases better than other estimates I received. The work crew that did the work were very polite and professional. Cleared up a couple of misunderstandings with the crew without any problems. Clean up was 100%. Work was finished to my complete satisfaction. Would use them again in the future if the situation arises.

Overall, the job went ok. We never found as to what the issue was. They did an ok job but we don't know as we cannot get up on the roof. It did not resolve the issue that we had. They came when they were supposed to come. They were very responsive, friendly and honest. But, they could not find out as to what the issue was. We would use them in future as they do a whole range of things.

We did have a few unexpected items occur but he dealt with them all and the end product was wonderful. Even my father who has a keen eye for detail and always has been quick to point out shortcomings of previous contractors was telling me what a nice job they did on the edge of the roof. Because of the few curve balls the house threw us there were some additional charges, but i felt that they were within reason. The work crew was courteous and always cleaned up at the end of the day. During demolition of the existing roof a small outside lantern was damaged but quickly replaced. I have no real complaints about his work. I was quite pleased. He is very busy but always returns calls personally same day or next day (that is if he does not answer). I fully intend to use him again and have no qualms about recommending him!

John Kindler and KC Contracting do very good work as far as I can tell. I am not a roofing expert, but I hired my old house inspector to look at the roof after they'd finished and he said it looked like they'd done a solid professional job. All of that said, if you need your roof fixed in a hurry, don't be surprised if you have to wait. I contacted KC Contracting early in the summer but had to wait a few months for them to do the work because they were so backed up. That's probably because the word is out that they are good roofers. Other than the long wait, it was hard for me to swallow the total cost, as it was much higher than the original estimate. And yet that price from what I can tell is a fair one because it included the complete re-sheathing of the house because of the deteriorated wood underneath the shingles. John did tell me beforehand there might be additional costs because roofers never know what they'll find underneath the shingles when they tear them off. So the price seems a fair one, but still when you get that bill there is always a bit of sticker shock. And yet the architectural shingles they put on are quite attractive and the gutters finally seem to be in good shape and aligned for the first time. The workers did a proper clean-up of the facilities after they were done so there was no refuse from the old roof or left over debris from the new one. Some other notes: John Kindler himself did not do my roof but his employees all seemed courteous and professional. One minor complaint, they knocked the bolts off the exterior lamps from the side of my house and so the lamps were just hanging lopsided and I'll have to re-affix them myself. But all told, I am happy with the work they did and would certainly recommend them.

Based on the number of low grades given by consumers who never get a return call, and similar experiences I am currently having, I thought this encounter was worth reporting. I left a message detailing my needs on a Thursday afternoon. Friday morning at 7:30, John called me back (while on his vacation) to let me know he was booked until 2011 and that if I could wait that long for service, he'd be happy to provide an estimate. I can't wait that long, but the next time I need something, John will be the first I call for a quote.

John gave us an estimate last March. Due to the harsh winter we had last year, John was up front about how long it would take to get the roof done. He got the estimate to us within a week of looking at the roof. It was a pretty long wait for them to actually start the roof. John was very good at keeping us informed of where we were on the schedule. It just worked out that we were also having retaining walls replaced at the same time that the roof was being done. Johns crew worked around the landscaping guys without any difficulty. Johns crew are polite and helpful. Several times one of the guys helped me carry things into the house. One guy took my garbage out to the curb for me. They work fast and neat. They had the roof done in less than four days even with one rainy day.

Our main bathroom, masterbath, and entryway ceiling below had sustained significant water damage. Of the three contractors that I asked to bid on the job, John was the most thorough with his measurements and the most helpful and knowledgeable in providing us with advice on how to approach this situation in a cost-effective manner. Once we formally contracted with him, his guidance was invaluable in helping us make decisions about shower surrounds, cabinets, tile, etc. He even met us at Home Depot one evening to talk to us about various products and approaches and came back to re-measure the bathrooms to make sure some of the cabinet options we wanted to use would work. Thanks to his advice and patience, we made purchases that ensured we woud have beautiful bathrooms without spending a king's ransom. Once the work began, John and his crew arrived promptly at my house at 7:30 am every morning and worked continually until about 3 pm for about three weeks. Since both of our bathrooms were affected, John planned the demolition to inconvenience us as little as possible. We were only without a bathtub for one day. Despite the massive amount of dust and debris, his crew cleaned up thoroughly after themselves everyday, including sweeping up with a shop vac and neatly stacking their tools and supplies in the garage. I work out of my home and appreciated that they were all very professional and discrete so that I could get my work done. I could not be more pleased with the end product. Our bathrooms are absolutely stunning. John did all the tilework himself and helped me come up with a lovely tile design. His work is masterful. We had wanted to use off-the-shelf countertops to save money, but they didn't quite fit our bathroom space. John and his crew figured out a solution that enabled us to use these pieces in a beautiful way, rather making an awkward fit. John also suggested texturing our ceilings and walls and I could not be happier with the look that he was able to achieve. From installing cabinets and fixtures, to placing towel bars, to returning damaged goods, he and his crew were extraordinarily patient and went the extra mile to ensure that I was satisfied with their work. I cannot say enough good things about John Kindler's professionalism and quality of work. I would recommend him without hesitation and plan to use him myself for any remodeling job that may arise with my home.

They were professional to call me back and let me know that they were unable to do business at this time. I would consider doing business with them in the future since they were so professional.

John came to look at my prospective job on July 10, 2010. Today is Aug 6, 2010 and I still have not received a proposal or estimate from K C Contracting.

We just got a verbal estimate. No work was done.

John was the only contractor willing to work us in during the busy summer season. Quality, design, and sturdiness of the deck exceeded our expectations. John and his crew were hard workers, and we will not hestitate to hire them again. We are pleased with the work completed, and have received many positive comments regarding the deck.
