The "cell phone" is actually a video inspection of the flue that was necessary to inspect the condition of the flue following the chimney getting hit by lightning. This allows us to validate the integrity of the inner part of the chimney which can not be seen from the outside. As for the price difference, I can not comment as I have nit seen the other proposal but I suspect that the repairs we recommended were more encompassing. Because of the snow they could not get up to see what was causing the leak from the chimney. We made an appointment for them to return in March to do that.
I am not sure if we will use them to complete the repair. They attempted to sell us a stainless steel liner for our fireplace at a cost of $5,000. If the chimney repair is anything like price that we'll have to get several more bids. We have no interest in lining the chimney. We have a gas fireplace and there's no need for that.
I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

morning and no one has called or showed up for the appointment. I called the
office, it rang for a long time before someone answered and asked me to hold
which was for about 2 minutes. When the man come back on the line, I explained
about my appointment time and how no call & no show. The man told me he
didn?t have me down for a time, just for the date. I advised him I was given a
time of between 8-8:30 he said not that?s not right they give a window of
between 8am and 12. The man was not nice, had a poor attitude and definitely
should not be speaking to customers on the phone. He acted like I was lying
about being told between 8 and 8:30. If this is the way your company speaks to
their customers on the phone I am surprised they are still in business. I told him
that I would not be using their business for my needs and I would leave a review
on Angie's List.
