I described the location of the trees over the phone. Ron came out when I was not around and sent me an estimate a few days later with a sketch that matched the real location. It was the lowest of the three bids I received. When I called to accept the bid, he explained that they were booked up and it would be 6 to 8 weeks before they could do the work. Since there was no urgency (the tree had been dead for a while and was not going anywhere) I said okay. This is why they got the C for responsiveness. I called at the 6 six week point and got a scheduled date about two weeks hence. They showed up on that date and did the work in a neat professional manner., with no damage to surrounding landscaping.

They were great. There were two guys and they did a great job. They were not invasive. They used ropes and climbed up the trees. They did a great job. Everybody were consistent including the people I talked to in the office. They were good in getting me scheduled. Their contact person also was good. They were very professional and on time. They were here when they said they were going to be. They are a really good company to work with. We have three huge trees in the backyard and we will use them again in the future.

I had a tree that had partially fallen and was in danger of falling on a vehicle located on a neighboring property. Rob from Arborel Tree Service quickly came out to provide an estimate for the work first thing in the morning after I called with the inquiry, and he was able to send a crew to do the work later the same day. The cost was competitive to two other bids that I received, and my incentive to go with them was that they were able to take care of the issue the fastest. While they were here, I was able to get their assistance in taking down another tree that had partially fallen as well as another dead tree that was at risk of falling. The crew was professional and did a nice job. I will be calling back to get an estimate for additional work!

I was so impressed with the work performed. Arborel arrived as scheduled and the two tree specialist worked for hours, including some very high cable work in an enormous tree. I have also used Arborel in the past for planting trees, and will use them again.

They were quick to come out and give an estimate. The work was done soon after (with the exception of specific trees that needed to be trimmed in fall in order to avoid beetle damage). They did a great job and cleaned up well after themselves. The only thing that caught me off-guard a bit is that they didn't call ahead the first time they came out to work. Make sure to ask for a specific date or time from them, or ask them to call ahead, if you want to be sure exactly when they will be working. All-in-all, we felt good about the end result, and plan to hire them for any future tree-maintenance that we may need.

We had just bought a house in May and the trees were overgrown. I called Arborel for an estimate and they came right out. The quote I got was more expensive than some of the others, but the gentleman (Rob?) was an arborist and seemed much more knowledgeable about the trees and our needs rather than simply giving me a sales pitch. I was informed that we would need to have our services done in the fall, after the oaks were in their dormant stage - to prevent spread of a tree fungus (I learned something new!) So we needed to wait a few months to be put on the schedule. Fast forward to DECEMBER. My only complaint (minor) was that after I agreed to the work, I did not hear back from them for a few months. I then called to ask when they were planning to schedule the work and did not hear back from them. I called several times to check but was put off. I called last week and they finally were able to schedule me; and that they would be there the next week. The guys arrived right on time and went straight to work. They worked quickly and efficiently, and even cut up a few larger branches for firewood for our family. Everything looks great.

Rob came out this summer to provide the estimate for the work. He was knowledgeable and professional. He did recommend removing the oak tree, rather than cutting it back (I chose to ignore his recommendation). He also pointed out that several evergreens were yellowing and thinning, which I had not noticed. Another person from Arborel came out later to provide an estimate on treating this problem, which can only be done in the Spring (separate service). Overall, they did an excellent job. 3 people from Arborel came with a large truck and shredder. The work took about 3.5 hours and they did a thorough job of cleaning up everything. The location for the work was not easily accessible, but they managed to get it all done, exactly as I had wanted it.

Didn't do yard work,,,,,, Did cut down large pine tree in front yard..... Put anchoring pads on sidewalk----- cracked it...Also had done tree work in back yard..... had non English speaking crew..Had to have them come back and finish job .Also Davey does DUQUESNE LIGHT Trimming of trees along power lines in our area....( corp. out of Ohio)BUTCHERED A pine in our front yard... Duqesne Light Rep. and Davey rep. came to our house.... rude ,,,, said in so many words,,,,, we could take a "flying leap"! Beautiful huge Oak tree up the street---- horrible what they did to it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Our pine planted by previous owners,,, Oak up the street---there before POWER LINES!!!!!!!!!

We never know he's here until he does his thing and leaves something on the door knob, then we get something in the mail. They do a good job, we don't get weeds where he sprays.

We had two experiences with Arborel, the first in May of 2011 and the second in October 2011. The first time I called them because we were going to move in to a new house and needed a tree taken down and some other trees taken out. When I called the first time, I had not response. When I called the second time I was told someone would call me back to make an appointment for an estimate. I didn't receive a call back for a few days. When I did, I told them we needed the work done urgently. The best they were able to do was make an appointment to come out and do an estimate the following Thursday (I called on a Friday). Which I accepted, we then called around and were able to make an appointment with another company to give an estimate and start the work on Thursday. I called Arborel to cancel and had to leave a message. They ended up sending out someone to do the quote anyway - and were fairly annoyed when they showed up and the tree was already coming down.Then this fall I decided to give them another try. I called and left a message on October 11th. In my message i said I was a new customer who needed a quote on some tree work. I got a call back on October 13th from a Gentleman who, after asking what I needed, said I would get a call from Tina soon to schedule an appointment. Which really, is ridiculously inefficient. On October 17th, I got a call from Tina who told me they would have someone at my house on 9:15 on Thursday to give me a quote. She did not ask what would be convenient for me - she just told me when they could arrive (which was consistent with my prior experience). I told her that time would not work, as my husband and I both work. I requested either a Saturday or an evening for the quote. Tina said she would call me back - but so far, no call! Overall - I am sure Arborel does very nice work - but only on their schedule.

Overall, my experience with them was excellent. They did a very thorough and excellent job of taking the trees down, and they cleaned up after themselves well. Their price was competitive. I would rate them highly and would use them again in the future if necessary.

We recently purchased a house and during the home inspection process the inspector noticed a couple of cracks in the foundation and said they could be caused by a number of things, including a couple of Yew trees in close proximity. The inspector said these trees often have very invasive roots and the root system could be pushing up against the foundation of the house. After contacting Arborel via email i received a response back the next day from Tina telling me they were pretty busy right now, but they might have an opening for me in a couple of weeks. I was in no hurry for this job so I told her this was fine. 2 days later she emailed me back and said they actually had an opening just a few days later and if i wanted they could come by to take a look and give me some thoughts. I gave Tina all of my information, and told her the location of the trees and my specific concerns, and asked if i'd need to be home when they came by to take a look. She said I had supplied sufficient information, and since these trees were just out in the open in the front yard that they could come by and look without me being at home. a few days later on the day someone was supposed to come by, I got a call from Rob at Arborel at exactly the time they said they would be at my house, and he said he was standing in my front yard and just wanted to go over my concerns with me. We discussed the trees in question, to which he told me that the distance they were from the house and the size of the trees told him that they were most likely not the culprit and shouldn't be pushing out so far as to be the issue the Inspector mentioned about the foundation. While on the phone he asked if it was ok to walk around the rest of the property and take a look to see if anything else might be a concern. I was more than happy to let him take a look and give me his thoughts. He mentioned a couple of things that he saw, but nothing was a major or concern or anything he recommended taking action on. He was extremely knowledgeable and very helpful in looking all around the property. In the end he said everything looked good, and if i was ok with the things he mentioned then he wouldn't recommend any services necessary. I was very happy with the service Arborel provided, and even though they were very busy during this part of the season they were able to see my pretty quickly. I will definitely keep them in mind if concerns ever come up, or if we need any tree service in the future. from start to finish everyone was extremely polite and helpful.

They were good. I would use them in the future.

rob responded in a very timely manner. he proved very knowledgable about his profession. he not only knew the names of everything in my yard, but pointed out the poison ivy growing in my yard.. his estimate was very detailed and precise. when I e-mailed him to clarify a point, he replied immediately. the only reason I did not hire him for this job was the price, it was more than the other bid. I would consider him when another need arises. I would also refer him if asked by anyone looking for the services he performs.

I spent $725 on that work. It turned out great. They were very professional, very friendly and they had a good solution for my tree because I was afraid that they had to tear it down but they told me that pruning would save it and leave it standing. Their price was competitive and the 3 men who came here to do the work were outstanding. Their cleanup was so good that I could not tell that they were here.

They arrived on time and were very effecient; finishing the job in less time than the original estimate. One tree in particular was hard to access (wooded lot behind house), which required that they had to carry the wood up manually so as not to damage our lawn. They ground out the stumps and we can hardly tell where the trees use to be - excellent clean up! I would certainly use them again and would not hesitate to recommend them to friends and family.

The owner is Rob and he is a certified arborist. They are really good. Our only complaint was that they were supposed to return and stake a tree. I called them a couple of times and they kept forgetting. Other than that everything was good. The price was reasonable.

I gave up and just placed a call to the second tree service on the list.

Our lawn has never looked better. They have demonstrated that they stand behind their work. I would highly recommend them.

They are excellent. They come when they say they are going to come. They clean up everything. They are very friendly. They tell you exactly what they are going to do and why they are doing it.

They did an excellent job as usual. This is the third time we've used their services and we've been very pleased each time.

Calls returned promptly, didn't try and oversell services I didn't need.
