Overall, this was a most frustrating experience for me and my wife. When first contacted, Chuck was told that we would be away from the house for a pre-planned, three week vacation. He was to mail to us a proposal and upon our return, we would notify him of our decision. Upon our return, his proposal awaited us; we decided to go with him, and over the next three (3) weeks, left numerous phone messages on his machine. We were only able to finally get a hold of his company by contacting his partner, who relayed a message for us. When he finally called us, Chuck told us that he had "forgotten" about us! This despite our many messages to him. From this point it was downhill! His demeanor was horrible, and his business acumen really left a lot to be desired. To top it off, he never received a signed acceptance from us on his proposal for the work to be accomplished. We could have been financially hurt or something. Beware!
Description of Work: Removed 364 sq ft of concrete sidewalk, to include 1/2 of the driveway apron, and re-poured the 364 sq ft with new concrete. Contractor did not follow his proposal that he would pour the 4" of concrete over a stone base. No stone base was used, only the small debris from the old concrete sidewalk was used, and there was not enough to have a level base through out the entire 364 sq ft. His workers did not refill the sides of the sidewalk after the frames were removed. That was half way accomplished after he appeared to get the balance of his money due.
