About a week ago I returned to this local hardware store "the little guy" who I prefer to support over the big companies when I can. I have been purchasing as much of my items from this store as I can, but when I have to, I do go to Home Depot or Lowe's. Anyway about a weekago, I went in searching for a "Window Shoe" for Anderson Windows that I could not find ANYWHERE. I spent about 3 hours searching online with no luck in finding what I needed. But I remembered that one of the times that I was in this store that I saw parts books for Anderson Windows. So I thought that I could go in and hopefully have this guy order me what I needed. Well when I first went in and talked to the guy who I assume is the owner, he asked me to bring in one so he could see exactly what I was looking for. So today I took a good one in to show him what I wanted. I first stopped in the afternoon and he wasnt there, so I left it there with my name and number at the front desk with the lady and she said that he would call when he got back at 4pm. Of course he didnt call and so about 530pm I stopped back in to see what was up. When I got there he was apparently unaware that I had dropped it off. So I told him that i did and we went to the front desk and found it. He said "Oh yeah I can get that for you, just havent had the time to look for it since I have to look through a pretty thick book to find it." I told him that it was ok and that I was not in any rush, but to just let me know when he finds it. I said, "well i was just on my way to home depot and I thought I would stop in and see whats up." As soon as I said that his attitude completly changed. He flung(or aggressivly slid) my part and the paper that it was on back to me and told me to get it from home depot and that he couldnt help me. I said the person that I talked to there had no idea what I was talking about and they couldnt help me either. He said "well you are going go some where else, so sorry I cant help you." He then said "those guys at home depot, they know everything! you are going to have to go to Anderson dealer if they cant help you" I was so discusted with his ignorance that I just walked out. I mean he had Anderson window signs or papers in his store so I am pretty sure he is a dealer. But I guess that no business is better then some business. I really try to support "the little guy" when I can. But i will no longer give this guy ANY more of my business and I strongly suggest that no one else does either. Ever since the first time I went in this place I always had the feeling of hostility.
