DiSandro Landscape Group Inc

I know that many people, myself included, have had good experiences with DiSandro Landscaping Group, and could attest to the truth of the following statements from their website: "What sets us apart from other landscaping companies is our dedication to customer service. No job is complete until you are 100% satisfied with the final product." My latest experience with DiSandro's, however, was definitely not good. As with my prior experience with DS, a representative came out to take details on the two jobs I wanted done. He gave me a ballpark estimate and noted that although other landscapers would do the work for less, they would not be "professionals" like DiSandro's was. So, I hired them, paid them, and waited for them to get back to me to schedule a date. Rather than get back to me, however, they simply showed up one day a couple weeks later while I was in a video conference for work. I left my meeting and went outside to find that unlike the last time DS had done work here, there was no DS representative accompanying the work crew, and neither the crew nor their foreman seemed to have any idea what they were supposed to do. I filled the foreman in, he passed the information on to his crew and left, and I returned to my work. A couple hours later, I was asked to come out and take a look. One job was done well; the other was done entirely wrong and was unfixable (by the way, there's a Yelp review from someone who had a similar experience). When I expressed my dissatisfaction to DS, these were the responses I got: With respect to their showing up without warning and without the DS representative: Oh, he's on vacation this week, and we had a cancellation so we had to send the crew somewhere. There wasn't time to let you know in advance. This is just how we have to do things. With respect to the mistake the workers made: Well, you have to understand that the workers are inexperienced and it was very hot that day. With respect to my request for a partial refund: Oh, no, we can't do that. DS actually makes very little on each job since we have to pay the work crew and to have the equipment transported. My takeaway from these responses is this: the higher price you pay to have DS do your landscaping work is not because they are "professionals" and certainly not because of their customer service. At least not these days. DS makes their money by charging customers for the service of going out and hiring inexperienced workers for you. DS's own role in the work you hire them for begins and ends there. Let me add finally that I do not hold the workers themselves in any way responsible for the mistake that was made. They were extremely conscientious, polite, and hard-working, and simply did the job they thought they were supposed to do. The mistake that was made was due solely to a lack of effective communication and supervision on DS's part. [I held on to this review a week before posting it. That's because exactly one week ago today the foreman for the job was, according to DS, coming out to take a look at what was done, and DS would then get back to me. He didn't (as far as I know—and I work from home) and they haven't.]

Everything turned out fabulously.  We were very pleased with the quality of the work as well as the timeliness and professionalism of the workers.  They also worked around the existing flower beds keeping everything intact.  Would definitely use them again.

They worked very quickly. However, they had to redo the job because they hadn't done it right the first time. I called them up and they came right out to change a few things. They did a good job overall but they didn't do a good job of returning phone calls. I was left wondering when they were going to come out and start the work.

They are excellent.
