Our Inspector Matt was very professional, thorough, and knowledgeable. He inspected each area of the home, inside and out,  and explained what he was looking for and answered any questions we had.  He also pointed out things that were good with the home.  It was nice to hear positive things and not only negative.  On the day of the inspection it was snowing and Matt could not get on the roof to inspect it, so he volunteered to return to the home two day later when the snow was gone to finish the inspection. Great service!  I would have no problem hiring Allied inspection in the future.

It went extremely well. We had Ryan Lingold complete a inspection on a prior that weput a contract on  and he uncovered many things that helped us make our decision not to purchase that other property. We were very fortunate to have Ryan at Allied work with us, we could have made a hugh commitment and could have had lots of problems with the house. I highly recommend them.

Very professional and informative. Did a thorough job and explained areas of concern throughout the process. On time for the appointment and followed through with the final report as promised.

Ryan explained everything prior to the home inspection and took me through each room and of the house and explained where all the shut off valves were, pointed out any safety concerned or areas to repair. Ryan also explained all electrical/heating system in the basement and took pictures of any potential issues. I was provided with a manual that explained everything in the full report that was emailed to me less than 24 hours after the inspection. Very pleased with Allied Inspection!!

Greg arrived on top and immediately went into an overview of the company and what he would be doing for us. He spent a lot of time teaching us about our new home and thoroughly examined everything. He spent over three hours with us. We were impressed by his knowledge and professionalism.

While overall I was happy with the quality of the home inspection itself there were several issues that made this experience less than excellent for me.
I chose Allied based on the reviews they received on Angie's list even though they charged $100-$150 more than other home inspection companies I found because I thought a home inspection is not something one should skimp on as it's a huge purchase.  I suppose I wouldn't have minded paying that extra if the few issues hadn't cropped up.
On the day of our inspection the two inspectors arrived early and were extremely professional and friendly.  They really took their time going through the house with us and answering our questions.  The inspection report was ready for us that evening and the main inspector Greg promptly returned my phone calls when I had follow-up questions.  The only issue I had with the home inspection was that a large walk through storage area above the garage was completely missed.
My main problem was with the termite inspection which Allied subcontracted to a company called Quest in Bethlehem.  It is convenient that Allied arranges everything for you on one day with the radon and termite inspections but they really should consider using another bug/pest company for termite inspections.  While the termite inspector Naim was friendly and willing to answer questions he prepared a one page form that had one sentence that read he found termite damage in the basement.  That's it.  No diagrams/graphs and he didn't even bother to take photos of the damage.  Our realtor told us that she has never seen a termite inspection report without photos or at least a diagram of where the damage was found.  Fast forward a week and the sellers have agreed to treat the home for termites at their expense but their pest company wants to know where the damage is and can't proceed without photos/diagrams.  I called Allied who told me I should call Quest which I did.  Twice.  The bug inspector told me he didn't draw anything and would have to come back to the house if we wanted a picture done which probably wouldn't happen for a while because he isn't normally in Reading and can't just drop by.  in the meantime, the home sellers, who are already skittish about having people in their home refused to let him back in, at which point a diagram of the termite damage areas was magically emailed to me out of the blue by Naim with no phone call or apology.  This caused a lot of unnecessary stress on me and in my mind put our purchase in jeopardy because the sellers are extremely attached to their house and many times we have thought they might change their minds.
So in conclusion, for the amount of money we paid for this inspection this whole termite inspector fiasco should never have happened or Allied should have handled it for us as they hired Quest instead of just telling me it was completely up to me to sort the termite inspection problem out.  If the bug inspection hadn't been an issue I would have rated Allied an A but since Quest is a D or F to me, I have to give Allied a lower rating and caution against using them if they continue to have Quest do lousy termite reports.

Home inspector Matt shows up on schedule. He was very professional and thorough in explaining areas around the house. He was able to pick up a lot of defects around the house. The home inspection took a little bit longer than expected due to an incident in the house. But overall, I am very please with the service. Following the home inspection, I was provided with a very detailed home inspection report. The home inspection report documented all the defects inside and outside of the house. My money is definitely well spent.

All our pre-inspection contacts with Allied were well handled and very professional.  They made all the arrangements with the sub-contractors (septic system and wood-destroying insects) and with the seller's realtor.
Matt was right on time and spent the whole morning with us going through the house thoroughly and doing an excellent job of explaining both his findings and what is normal.  He answered all our questions very well.  The whole time he was talking to us he was also checking things.  Included with the inspection is a looseleaf binder full of articles on home systems and home construction.  It is almost like a home owner's operating manual.
After the inspection Matt had his report to us within 24 hours and we were very satisfied with it.  The radon and septic system tests were provided as separate reports.
The sub-contractors were also friendly and helpful.  They made sure we understood what they found.

He was kind to our kids-letting them play with his screw driver. He was personable, answered questions we had with expertise in ways we understood. Ryan was on time, had all tools necessary, reasonably priced for the area, professional, kind and knowledgeable.

Fred was absolutely amazing.  He was very detailed in his inspection.  He walked us through everything and gave us tips on how to make the 1960's house more energy efficient.  He has responded to our numerous emails after our inspection.  This company is amazing!

Matt provided a great service. He came out and found problem areas with the house. He gave us a very detail list of items that needed fixing. We pass those items to the home seller and all were corrected.  We ended up buying the house.

Inspector was punctual, professional and thorough.

Ryan was our inspector.  Prompt, personable, thorough.  He took the time to explain all of the systems in the home and to tell us if the condition was typical for a house of this age.  The best part of the service was the speed of report.  We had preliminary radon results at the inspection (they had placed the analyzer the day before) and the report was available to download in about 30 hours. You may be able to save a couple of hundred dollars with someone else, but it is unlikely that they will have the resources that this firm has to get you your answer quickly.

Arrived before appointed time did thorough inspection of all areas very good had this particular inspection (Ryan)for previous home very pleased.

They took the time to stop and explain things. They were very thorough and showed up when they said they would.

Matt also got the inspection report to me in a timely manner as well as give me a 3 ring binder of all the detailed information I would need on a home, for reference.

Matt was our inspector.  He was extremely thorough which made us feel comfortable with the results of the inspection.  Since the process takes a few hours, it is helpful when you have an inspector who is personable.  I would say that Matt was very personable and he seemed to know his stuff.  I feel very confident in his abilities.  The radon test was left to be read within a few days.  The termite portion of the inspection was done by another man who came and completed his tasks in a timely fashion.  All of this was done under the umbrella of the same company.  
The results came extremely quickly via email with a link to the report.  Overall I would say that it was a very thorough inspection.  We learned many things along the way.

Fred was a pure professional, arrived on time, was totally prepared and had all the tools necessary to do a thorough inspection. This gentleman has a very low-key, laid-back manner and he exuded knowledge.  He first gave us an overview of what he was going to be doing and why.  He divided the house up in sections that he would inspect and after completing each section he gave us his findings.       We appreciated this because we are using the report to sell the house and need to understand all the areas that need correction or repair so we are not rushed to do this once the house is up for sale.  This also enables us to shop for better prices and know what areas of concern take priority.
  Everything about the inspection was great.  Fred was very thorough and educational.  We could tell he loves his job because of the enthusiasm he showed and his willingness to happily answer our many questions.  Nothing escaped his observation.  At the end of his inspection he took us on a house tour pointing out the most-to-least important areas to be addressed.  He also gave us tips on what we could do to make the house more appealing to potential buyers.
  The home report which we received about 48 hours later was very in depth in text and in pictures that were very professionally done.   That gave us great insight into all aspects of the home and made it easy to remember and identify exactly where and what needs to be
done.
  The price for this inspection was extremely reasonable.
  Several days after receiving the report, Fred did a follow-up call to see if we had any more questions and offered that we could call at any time to get more answers if needed.

The home inspection was very thorough and a very extensive report was provided. We also added radon and termite testing. We recommend this company.

We had Ryan from Allied Inspection come out to do a full home inspection for us.  First I want to say that Ryan called the day before to confirm our appointment with us, and on the day of the inspection he arrived on time. Also when I first called, there was someone there to answer the phone and I didn't need to leave a message.  I found that to be extremely professional.  Now, this isn't the first home inspection we ever had, but Ryan is one of the best inspections we had the pleasure of  knowing.  He was totally professional in his manner.  He explained everything to us so that we understood the process. He told us that we should receive the full report in two days and sure enough I did.   I wouldn't hesitate to call Allied Inspection and or Ryan again if I needed to and I would encourage anyone looking for a great home inspector to call Allied Inspection Services.

Our inspector, Matt Engler, was wonderful. He was extremely thorough and took the time to explain everything to us. He spent over 3 hours covering every part of the 2300 + square foot house. We were provided with a 60+ page report with pictures explaining everything that he found in his inspection. I would recommend Allied and Matt to anyone needing a home inspection. Matt even came out to our house on the day we closed to ensure the sellers properly fixed the issues we had asked them to fix. He did an exceptional job and we were extremely pleased with the services.

Matt did a complete home inspection and was FULL of information, answers to my questions, and left us an amazing binder of information on house systems, to be followed up by a lengthy specific report on our house.  We recently bought this house "as is" so we were pretty nervous about what he might find, but he was so contructive and positive, we were left feeling like we can handle the needed repairs. A second man, Naim, stopped by during the home inspection to do the termite inspection.  He was also great - gave us good hints about caring for our foundation plants as well as our basement dampness and insect issues (since we did not have termites).  It was a great experience.

The home inspection was conducted very thoroughly and professionally.  Even though I was being pulled in another direction during the inspection, Ryan did an excellent job of still finding the time to communicate to me all of the issues he found and other key items of interest.  Radon came back high and I was notified immediately.  Home inspector was punctual, and not the reason for the low grade above.  I could not have asked for anything more from the home inspection and radon inspection.

The only downside (and reason for the 'D' above in punctuality) was the absence of the pest/termite inspector at the time of the other inspections.  This person did not show while I was at the home with the home inspector, and a later date and time had to be provided by the homeowner to accommodate this addition to the schedule.

We were in a bind and needed to have an inspection performed last minute. Ryan had an opening, and was able to fit us in. He was on time and VERY organized and well prepared!
He started the appointment with showing us the binder with all of the services he was going to provide during the inspection. He told us that it was okay to feel overwhelmed and then showed us the section in the binder that tells us what to do and when to keep our house up to date. This was very helpful for us because this is our first home. It was a lot of information to take in at once, but he also explained that while we followed him during the inspection that he was going to take pictures of everything and then put them into a document for us with all of the information we covered.
Ryan throughly walked and inspected every ince of the home. He explained in detail all of the repairs or updates we should perform. He discussed why we needed to do them and how soon we needed to complete them. Any time we had a question, he had an answer and he showed us the answer. One particular example was we noticed a water spot on the basement floor. He didn't know exactly the source, but he went through and turned all of the water on and found the leak was from the 2nd floor bathroom. He told us it was an easy fix that just needed to be resealed.
Ryan inspected every inch of our house. He provided fantastic service. Not only while going through the house, but the
80 page report was in our email the very next day. On top of all of that, he was very easy to get along with and talk to. I would recommend Allied Inspection Services to anyone.
