Pierce was very professional from the start, which I greatly appreciated. I met with him to go over the scope of services and received a detailed price estimate the same evening. He scheduled and completed the work very quickly and efficiently and I was very pleased with the job. I've already received many compliments on his work.

He emailed a very detailed proposal and estimate the following day that outlined step by step exactly what would be done.
We emailed him with a question and received a very timely response.
We had gotten an estimate from another provider on Angie's list and while the two estimates were within a few dollars of each other we had planned to give the work to Pierce because he really distinguished himself with his responsiveness, courtesy and attention to detail in his proposal. The only reason we didn't sign a contract and have him do the work is that at the last minute a relative unexpectedly offered to do the work. When we notified Pierce, he was so courteous about it that we were again convinced that he would have been the right choice for the job. We would not hesitate to recommend him and use him in the future. He impressed us as a smart and professional businessman who knows the value of excellent customer service.

I called and Pierce answered immediately and scheduled an appointment for later that day. He called approximately an hour before the appointment to say he was running a bit late but would be there and showed up when he stated. We discussed what I was looking for and he gave some recommendations. Pierce sent me a quote very quickly and when I asked for alternatives to the trees suggested in the quote he sent them right over but we ended up going with one of those that were initially recommended. Once I signed the estimate and sent it back he called a couple of days later to say my trees had been purchased and asked if they could drop them off on a Saturday to store them until installation to which I approved. That Saturday I was away and received an email that the trees had been installed and they would be back to finish the lawn work when the weather allowed. The team was out bright and early on Monday and took care of the rest of the job.

Pierce and I schedule two different appointments that he had to reschedule b/c of conflicts. He replied to my inquiry that I submitted through the Angie's List website right away. After cancelling two scheduled appointments, Pierce decide that they had enough business for the next few months and was not interested in reviewing my job and never provided an estimate. Too bad b/c by looking at the other reviews online, him seems to provide quality work.
After I posted my first review above Pierce was able to schedule time to come out, review the job and provide an estimate for me. He was very professional and we discussed the project in detail. I will not need him to mulch b/c I found a great value for mulch on Angie's list big deal but I am considering using him to work on my patio. His estimated price was very competitive with other quotes I received. If I do decide to use him for my patio, we will need to clarify the scope of work. I look forward to working with Pierce. I am still waiting on another estimate and then I will decide.

I am a long time client. Pierce has been mowing and performing yard services, including leaf blowing and tree trimming, for our family for years.I have always been impressed with Pierce. He is very professional and easy to talk to. But my favorite quality is that he is a perfectionist.
When he completes a mowing job ( I am a full season customer), you can bet the grass is mowed, the edges are sharp and every single leaf has been blown off. His bill is e-mailed which is very convenient and he shows up exactly when he says he will.
He always accommodates last minute requests also. I couldn't be happier with Pierce's work.
His prices are very reasonable and I just love the way my lawn looks after Pierce finishes his work.

Pierce Shallis came when promised, gave us an detailed estimate and then arrived as agreed to do the work. He brought several other men to help but was on hand nearly the whole time to supervise the work. They took input from me as to how I wanted the work done and did a very good job of trimming as per my wishes. They worked steadily to complete the job. There were no surprise additions to the bill. Pierce was excellent to deal with and I believe he's making a big effort to satisfy his customers. I would use him again in the future.

Pierce was incredibly prompt, courteous, professional, communicative, thorough, and pleasant to interact with throughout the entire estimate process. He provided two very detailed estimates free of charge - one for using seed and one for using sod - so we could easily evaluate the total work that would be done to the yard and make a decision regarding whether seed or sod was best for this project. The estimates he provided were very fair with respect to the amount of work required to replace the front, side, and back lawn areas. While we ultimately decided to work with a different vendor for this project, we absolutely would have worked with Pierce and will definitely keep him in mind for any future lawn or garden projects. I have no reservations about recommending Pierce L. Shallis Landscaping & Design; he met our expectations for excellent customer service in every way.

Pierce came to give the estimate and was dressed nicely and was so professional and that was a big part of us choosing him. He really knew what he was talking about and helped us save some antique azaleas that another estimator had said to dig out. Keeping this azaleas was important to us and they are now growing. He also left a packet of seeds with all of his contact information which helped him to stand out from all the others too. Words cannot describe how grateful we are for all of the hard work everyone did. What an efficient and professional crew. We are astounded as to how lovely the place looks and you can be assured that we will use this company over and over again. My husband kept sending me pictures while I was at work through the day of progress and it made me cry because everything looked so beautiful. Thank you again ever so much.

Pierce could not have been any more professional, from the moment he returned my phonecall to set up an estimate I realized I had made the right decision. He was on time for the estimate and walked through my property with me, answered all my questions and concerns and followed up with an estimate within days of meeting. My wife and I have never hired a landscaper before so at first glance we thought the estimate was a little high, but after talking to some friends and pricing the materials we realized that the estimated price was very fair. Within a week of signing the contract to hire Pierce he had his crew of 4+ guys here bright and early on a Tuesday morning to work on the property and I couldn't have been more impressed, and trust me that isn't easy. His team was professional, courteous and hard-working and did not leave until the property looked flawless, which took about 8 hours. Pierce and his team delivered above and beyond my expectations and I look forward to working with him in the future.

They left the estimate when I was not there. It was very fairly priced. But I did not use him. Actually he left his proof of insurance and quote in the mailbox along with his card, very professionally done. He even followed up with a call two days later. All that was great and I will use him in the future. We want two trees removed and he can do the tree removal in addition to the stumps

He is my regular landscaper and I use him all the time. I pay him on the average about $1,000 a year. He is great. He shows up and does the work. The only thing is if he is bidding out separate jobs sometimes he is a little high but he is willing to negotiate, which is a good thing. He is very reliable unlike a lot of these guys that will show up and cut the lawn and then never show up again.

Pierce was very responsive, first contacting me within minutes of my e-mail. He arrived the next day right on time, did an estimate, and e-mailed me a copy that afternoon. I was concerned about keeping the shrubs healthy, and he was very knowledgeable about the amount of trimming they could safely tolerate after suffering through the last couple of rough winters. I quickly scheduled the work and he told me he would contact me the following week and tell me what day he would be here. As promised, he e-mailed me Monday and said he'd be here Wednesday. Again right on time, he showed up Wednesday and did the work. He left the place spotless as well -- I literally didn't see a twig or leaf on the ground when he was finished. It looks great, the estimate was accurate and I especially appreciated his professionalism in telling me exactly what to expect then following through. It sometimes seems like customer service is not a high priority anymore, but as a professional myself who lives by deadlines, I can guarantee that people notice. I would not hesitate to hire Pierce again the next time my yard needs work.

We have been using Pierce as our landscaper for 2 years now. He takes care of all of our lawn maintenance needs and also our occasional landscaping needs (plantings, mulching, hedge trimming, etc.). He is always prompt and leaves our property looking fantastic. Additionally we use him for snow removal. During the winter of 2009-2010 he was out a lot as it was a heavy snow year. He was always very prompt and generally had us dug out early in the morning. I highly recommend Pierce and his crew!

I had just purchased a home with a lawn, shrubs and trees that needed immediate attention. Pierce was recommended to me by my realtor. He was prompt, courteous, and did a great job with all the weeding, pruning and waste removal. He also has a degree in landscape design and I was looking forward to having him add some landscape design elements to my property in the spring. The only problem I had was when it was time to pay the bill he insisted on either cash or a check made payable to him personally. This was after he represented that he had a business with employees. I paid him for the work he completed, but told him that I am not comfortable continuing the relationship under these circumstances. Either you have a business which is conducted in a professional manner, or you don't. But I think he does great work and hope he gets some professional advice from an accountant and puts his business affairs in order.
