THE COUNTER OPTION

During our first meeting with the owner, we showed him the room, discussed what we wanted, and were provided with an amount ($1200). He gave us a time estimate of 3 weeks. We signed a contract, and three weeks later, we had no bookshelves. After another week, we called and emailed but his response was delayed. He explained it was going to take longer than he originally thought, due to other projects, but that it would be finished soon. After another month, I called and emailed, nervous he had run off with our money. He gave another excuse and asked for more time. We agreed. After ANOTHER month, we called and emailed and his wife responded. She said she had recently become involved in the business and was helping to organize things. She said that the bookshelves would be done by 7/31 or else we could receive a refund. On 7/31, there was a miscommunication and we were unable to see the bookshelves, but they were reported to be complete. They were finally installed after exactly 4 months of waiting, on August 4. Despite the extreme inconvenience of a three week project that took 4 months, and very poor communication from the owner to us, the final product is beautiful and well-crafted. We are very happy with the final product, though we are still awaiting an extra 6 shelves that he had forgotten to bring. He was able to make our bookshelves look exactly how we had hoped, including continuing the crown molding from around the room to make them look as though they always had been there. We are unsure whether we would use this company again. While we were happy with the final product, the process was very frustrating. We are hoping that now that his wife is involved, things will become easier for new customers. If we were to recommend them to anyone, we would strongly recommend that you receive a final official date for completion/installation/delivery so that you are not left hanging like we were.

From start to finish this company did a great job. They tore out the old vanity, carried it to the garage, cleaned up the bathroom and left the place spotless. I had the plumber out to run a pipe through the wall and Counter Options coordinated the timing with him to arrive after they were done with the tear-out. After the plumber was done, they came back the next morning to install the new vanity. It took about one and half hours and again, the room was left spotless. They are easy to work with and time efficient. I will use them again and highly recommend them as a vendor.
