Mike came to my home with his son, Mike.  They were punctual, even with snow issues, and very courteous.  They both took the time to listen to what I wanted and made some very good suggestions.  We discussed a few options and they took some measurements.  Because this was in the evening they explained they would return during the day to get exterior measurements, which was no problem.  I received a timely estimate that was very detailed and explained everything down to specific details.  Mike came within the budget that I had allotted for this project.
In the end, after many discussions with my spouse, we decided to hold off on this project.  Perhaps moving to a ranch home would be a better option, considering knee issue we have.  Had this not been a consideration I would have given the job to Mike.  Mike and his son were easy to talk to and explain what I needed.

From the beginning we thoroughly enjoyed working with Mike, his sons and his contractors (plumbing, electrical etc.).  They had access to our home the entire time and were very nice and trustworthy going in and out of the house.  They cleaned up after themselves and made sure everything was locked up at the end of the day.  Besides the price being reasonable, if there were any hiccups in the project, Mike worked with us to A. let us know our options and B. let us know the best price we could get.  We were on a tight deadline and Mike was very sensitive to it and made sure the work was completed on time.  We threw him a curveball and asked about changing out our kitchen floor with something more modern and he completed that in time as well.  Whenever we needed to meet with Mike and his team regarding pricing, issues, points of discussion, he also worked around our schedule for the time.  We really enjoyed working with Mike and his team and would definitely recommend and use him in the future! And PS the room looks great and we get so many compliments!

Mike was prompt in coming out to give me an estimate.  I had 3 estimates and they were all within $1,000 of each other but I chose Mike as he seemed a bit more experienced. The project went well and was finished within the time period that was promised. This included gutting the entire room & replacing all fixtures, walls, ceiling, flooring & installing exhaust fan. I then replaced 3 of the doors on the 2nd floor as they were old & worn. Mike and crew were prompt and kept me updated throughout the job by email and phone. I wasn't home much of the time & i felt like I could trust them to be in my home during the construction. I felt the price was both fair & honest and I got what I paid for. Thanks to MK remodeling as I love my new bathroom, especially the new tub.

It went great!  They were very professional, customized the job to our budget.  We had difficult weather conditions which they worked around the best way possible.  We were kept informed at every stage of the job.  Their skill level exceded our expectations.  We have an older home and is very difficult to work on and they managed to solve any problems they encountered still staying within our budget.  We would definately recommend their services and will use them again.  We now have the nicest exterior on the block.  Thank you Mike, Mike and Dan!  They are also pet friendly, the dog misses them.

MK Remodeling came through for us with flying colors again. Originally, we were going to replace all interior doors in our house, but that turned out to be not within our budget. Still, Mike was willing to fit a smaller version of the job (fewer doors) he was originally called to do, into his schedule. Dimensions-wise, it seems that nothing is ever easy in our house, but Mike was diligent in taking measurements and double-checking them, obtained the least expensive, good quality doors for us, and with his crew got the job done quick and clean. The doors look great. He got us the doorknobs that can be opened from the outside, in case a child locks herself in the bathroom again. The closer that he installed at our request on the door leading to the basement is a great convenience for when we're schlepping huge bundles of laundry and need that door shut due to the air conditioning on the other floors. We will continue to call upon MK Remodeling for our home improvement projects.

Mike was present for the original estimate and followed through with doing all that he said he would and in a timely manner. The wall was water damaged due to an eroding exterrior chimney adjacent to this bedroom wall. The dry wall work and plastering was outsourced to an excellent plasterer, Tom Henneley, who repaired the hole. A week later after the plaster was dried, Mike finished the job with the paint work. We are very pleased with the work.

Mike and his son came out to look at the job. They were both very courteous and professional in their assessment and explanation of what needed to be done. The only reason we did not choose them was because of a referral to another contractor from a family member. Although we did not use their services I am sure that they do nice work based on their rating and would benefit another Angie's List member.

Very good quality of work, and most importantly, professional and easy to deal with. MK were highly responsive to our requests. Every misunderstanding was interpreted in our favor. Came back several times to take care of loose ends. Also, the project took less time than estimated. Overall, very positive experience.

Mike and Mike kept us dust-free throughout the remodeling process. They ensured that we had some sort of a useable kitchen whenever humanly possible. For example, they prioritized the installation of sink fixtures and roughed in a plywood countertop for us so that we could continue to perform some kitchen tasks during the course of the remodel. They solicited my approval at the beginning of each next step, either because there was a choice that could be made regarding some mechanical aspect or because they wanted to be crystal clear on aesthetic aspects that were important to me. While standard work was finished by the end of August or thereabouts, they were happy to return several times thereafter, at no additional charge, to apply finishing touches that occurred to me after the fact, such as moulding on the bottom edges of cabinets over the pass-through, and a background piece of wood for a ristra that I wanted to hang next to a cabinet. Then when our painter apparently pulled blue tape the wrong way and took some cabinet finish with it, Mike scored us a new “skin” and got it installed before the holidays. The point is that through autumn, the Mikes were involved in many other major, time-consuming projects, but continued to be accessible and managed to fit in additional tasks in our kitchen, even though they had been paid in full. This company provides expertise and excellent value for the money and I wholeheartedly recommend the Krakovitzes.

The night of hurricane Irene, I came home to find water dripping on the seat of my livingroom's front bow window and flowing from the ceiling fan over my bed as well as from other leaks in the ceiling of my bedroom on the second floor. Once the insurance inspector came and gave his summation of damages, I jumped on Angie's List to find a contractor. Mike Sr. of MK Remodeling came out, assessed the damage, submitted the best price and assured me that everything would be put back to normal. They repaired the roof and then said to wait for a good rainfall to make sure everything was good before moving onto repairing the inside. Once we were ready to begin inside, his son, Mike Jr. came out with the crew each day as working supervisor. He was very informative, walking me through the stages of construction with dates of beginning and completion. The first week I stayed home to see how things were going and I was extremely pleased to find they were highly professional, neat and all about the task at hand and staying on schedule. It was very reassuring to see that Mike Jr. was onsite the entire time and Mike Sr. stopped in from time to time just to check in. The second week I felt secure enough to leave a key and go back to work while they completed what was left to do. It was so reassuring to see the progression as well as to find that they had cleaned up behind themselves each day. They were even conscientious about our cat not getting out – which wasn't too much trouble since she basically just made an appearance to say hello and then disappeared up to our finished attic but they still made sure she was no where near the door when they had to go outside. I am so pleased with their work. I would highly recommend MK Remodeling to anyone needing work done to their home and I would definitely use them again for any other work I would want done to my house.
