The Gutter Guys

My experience with Gutter Guys was mixed, but ultimately, what I got for what I paid was very disappointing. The consultation with Josh O (as many have pointed out) was great. Very personable and seemingly honest. My gutter issue was easy to spot and Josh agreed quickly with me that it was the culprit and drew up some options/quotes pretty quickly. I was on the books with a deposit hours later. We were given an estimation for the completion of the job (small, relatively) which was 6 weeks out. Understandable, and we were OK with this. That day did come and no sign of a GG crew. There was no call or communication either. We called the day after to enquire about status, at which point we were told we were the last job on that day. The end of day came and went with no work and, again, no communication. We called the following day (seeing that they were closed) and were told we were now bumped to the first job…of the next day. All in all, this wasn’t anything more than slightly inconvenient, but it did make us wonder what would happen if we hadn’t been calling and reminding them… Anyways, let’s get to the crux of the issue. The two man team showed up and were polite and friendly. The job was completed as described and agreed within about 2 hours. The problem, however, is that the gutters were not installed correctly by anyone’s standards. Some of then brand new gutter run was back pitched! You see, gutters are supposed to be angled at a slight pitch downward to the downspout. Gravity has a wonderful influence on shedding water in this setup! When a system is back pitched, it’s angled in the wrong direction and is fighting what a proper system should have an easy time doing. I know this first hand because the system we were replacing was back pitched and wreaked havoc on the interior of our home. I measured this myself with a 3’ level to confirm what I was seeing. I couldn’t accept this and called the office. Someone said I’d receive a call back, but that never happened. I called the following day again, and was told by someone else that it would be within 5 days for someone to stop by and see the issue first hand. Ok, clear communication hasn’t been their strength, but I can deal with this. All of this took a bit more back and forth until someone finally showed up (not the guy nor time I was told, but hey, they were here). He seemed somewhat dubious of my description of the issue at first but finally agreed once he was up there. He made some on the fly attempts to better it — and, credit where it’s due, he did improve on the problem - but it still was not pitched correctly. His final assessment after all of this was that it “should work well…enough” and if not, a bigger rerouting job would be needed (at my expense, no doubt). So, all in all, we spent six-plus weeks, chased several back and forth dialogs and paid a few hundred to get a shiny, new, slightly “improved” yet still non-properly-working gutter installed. I could have understood if the installers, once up at the site, told me “we can’t install properly functioning gutters due to these limitations” and either cancelled the job or explained some other options. But that obviously didn’t happen. If I need another gutter job or was asked to recommend, I’d certainly be looking elsewhere.

wonderful. They came when promised. We talked about also adding a drain to the portico because rain water was creating hole in the asphalt. They put in drain I was not happy with it. because of the way ground was no matter what they did looked like water would still go find that hole. I called and told them. They came out quickly listened to my reasons why I did not want the drain and they immediately removed it and refunded the cost of the drain on the s pot. Honest, nice, professional. I almost wish I had more gutters to be repaired so i could call them again

Everyone I dealt with at gutter guys was polite and helpful, but the results weren't much better than I could have done myself. My downspouts are still leaking at the junctions - it appears there are still obstructions. The crew wasn't at my house long and I expected the gutters and downspouts to be flushed and they were not. They did a good job installing and cleaning up after the installation. We've had some heavy rains since the installation an the guards seem to work well.

From the sales person, Scott, to the installers , Eric's crew, they were all very clean cut and nice. Installation was started in less time then estimated . They needed two days at the home and yard clean up was very good. To walk around the yard, both days , you would never know that work was going on or had been done. I wanted to install a heat line in the back gutter, as I have had freezing problems in the past. Eric was more than willing to advise and help with the installation. A friend recommended this company and I would pass on the recommendation to anyone.

I cannot say enough good thins about the service and quality provided by these folks. It's a family run business and it shows in every detail. I called on a Monday evening to request an estimate. Received a call back the next morning and the estimator (a daughter of the owner) came out the next day. She was knowledgable, polite and generally a pleasant person to deal with. We bought the seamless gutters with the guard. We weren't home the day the installers came, but they left the place spotless. If they hadn't left a sign on the front lawn, I might not have noticed they had been there at all. The gutters look great and work great even though it took a while for it to rain after they were installed. I'd recommend this company to any homeowner. Their work is great and they have great customer service to boot!

Installed whole house gutters with gutter guard on 2300 sf house to match our home's color scheme. Everything from sales call from Mr. Dame to installation went smoothly. They gutters look and work great-would definitely work with them again. Very professional and responsive company. Provided opportunity to break cost into 4 payments via checks provided on day of installation.
