Brinkers has been my oil company for over 4 years. They are always professional and on time. During the Coronavirus the tech has gloves & a mask on. After the service was complete he updated me while maintaining social distancing protocol. I have service contracts and budget annually never have had any problems with over charging.

They are very overpriced, at times sneakily charging $1.50 to $2.00 more per gallon than national average price. I had a service contract but would need to schedule an appointment 3-6 months out and hope they showed up in their morning or afternoon window. So yourself a favor and find a different provider.

Had an appointment for my Buderus boiler to be serviced (which Brinkers installed 10 years ago). Appointment was scheduled over a month in advance, and I was given a 4-hour window. I took the morning off of work for it. Toward the end of the appointment window, I called to make sure they were coming. They said yes, that the technician would call when he was on his way. An hour after the end of the appointment window, I called back and they said they couldn't make it and would not be coming out that day. The person on the phone noted to me that I don't have a service contract with them. Should that matter? Brinkers installed brand new heating and air conditioning in my current house AND installed brand new heating and air conditioning in my previous house! They're the only people I've used for over 15 years, and because I don't have a service contract, even though I had an appointment made over a month previous, they completely disregarded my appointment. Terrible customer service and will never use or recommend them again.

Brinker Energy is HORRIBLE!!! They installed a new Trane air conditioner and heating system at my home. They had to return because the air conditioner would not work. They wired it incorrectly. Then I requested service and the service tech arrived and said "You don't need service. Those thermostats are programmed based on duration and that is why it says you need service". System was installed in the winter and now it was time to service for the summer. He did NOTHING. Well, I know it is hot but my air conditioner runs ALL the time and the bill is higher than it has ever been. During prior years when we had extremely hot summers, the maximum bill was ~$185. Now my bill is at $303. In 18 years I have never seen a summer bill this high. Now, they want me to wait another month to come out to service the system and to determine why it continuously runs.

Right now (12/18/15) Brinkers is delivering at $2.79 while Meenan is delivering at $1.81 ... also, be sure to stop auto delivery when your contract is up or they will fill your tanks at the "market" aka "high" rate.  I called Brinkers in order to deal with this issue ... the only way they would consider adjusting the fee was if I signed up for another contract.  F that.

Everything went well during the installation and they were very professional and on time. Their pricing is very competitive and allows you to pay on a budget plan. My only complaint is their computer system doesn't show the payment history online and isn't clear on the balances are owed.

But this year - when the price of oil plummeted I expected that the price of my home heating oil would also go down.  I was very shocked to find that I was charged $3.99 a gallon on December 19th, 2014.  When I did a little it of cost comparison to other local oil companies, I found prices between $2.50 a gallon - $3.00 per gallon. Considering that I had just purchased 150 gallons I was very unhappy to find this inflated price charged to me.

This is my own fault that I didn't do the research, so I'll pay this bill - even though I feel like I've been ripped off for $100 right before Christmas...

So I put in a web inquiry through their website, asking to have my automatic delivery cancelled on December 23rd.  When I had received no response either via email or phone by December 30th I called and left a message in some sort of general mailbox, requesting cancellation of my automatic delivery.  As of today, January 6th I have still received no response from this company.  I will be sending a certified letter this week requesting cancellation.

The first oil delivery was done at the agreed price with no problems.  Coordination with the company was very smooth with very friendly personnel who were knowledgeable and professional.  Overall prices were better than other companies I got estimates for. I signed up for a service contract; no service required yet.

It was cheaper than other companies. Their service plan was, I liked their service plan better. Their price is comparable as far as their heating oil, comparable with everyone else, but their service plan was better.

Not happy with them. I am actually going to try to switch as soon as possible. They just did a horrible job with their contracting and they told me it was going to be certain rate per month and they did do all this touch up and they have just been all over the place. As soon as I had them probably just getting oil when i need it versus having people try to estimate, it is just not working. They do deliver on time. When I signed the contract they told me it was going to be one price and they did the estimate and everything and they were up like 300 bucks a month. They knew what they were doing. They were just trying to get the business versus being honest about what their prices were.

Delivery was on-time for the first year. But extremely poor customer service. I had a variable rate plan for the first year but they did not change plan to lock in a set rate even though I had requested to do so after the first year. Charged exorbitant prices for the most recent deliveries, including one delivery which occurred as our tank became empty during the midst of the coldest streak of winter days I can remember. Will never return to their "service" again.

I called Brinkers for my and quot;free tune-upand quot;. Their tech came out and inspected my furnace and refused to do the tune up unless I paid $300.00 to have the flame retention head replaced on my Beckett oil burner. I guess he thought he would scare me into paying for his services without getting a second opinion by telling me my furnace was in a and quot;dangerous conditionand quot;, after all it was running just fine. He also said that my furnace was and quot;end-of-lifeand quot; and it was entirely possible that the ceramics inside of the furnace would fall apart rendering it and quot;un-repairableand quot;. I called in another hvac tech for a second opinion. The second tech confirmed the flame retention head was cracked and he could, if i requested, replace the head in about an hour and a half, two hours including the tune-up at a cost of between $175.00 and $225.00 depending on how long he was on the job, he charges an hourly rate where as the Brinkers tech wanted to charge a and quot;flat rateand quot;. The second tech said the crack in the head was common on the beckett burner and did not pose a safety concern, if anything it might affect the burner efficiency but not by much. He visually checked the flame and it looked fine. He also stated that my furnace was not that old or and quot;end of lifeand quot; at all, it was very clean internally and my blower was direct drive, an older unit would be belt driven. He went on to say the interior ceramic blanket the Brinkers tech said and quot;might fall apart rendering it un-repairableand quot; was replaceable if needed. Who got my business? Not Brinkers. Will I recommend Brinkers Energy to friends and family? Never. If fuel oil services should come up in conversation will I relate this story whenever I can? You can count on that.
By the way, a neighbor just had oil delivered by another company at a cost of $3.59 per gallon, Brinkers current price to me being under contract, $3.99 per gallon. That is if I chose to buy from them.

What I liked about them was that their price was reasonable. They were prompt in the installation. The installation took longer because it was a much harder job than they envisioned. They had done work in my other house that is why I chose the company. It is a repeat company. I had one unit that went down, and they came out very quickly. They are not cheap, but they are not the highest. These guys were a little sloppy as far as cleaning and protecting areas when they were cutting the walls. I was not happy about how they handled things in the house. I think they gave us a good price for what they did. If I had somebody else do this job knowing what they had to go through, they would have probably charged a lot more.

The service was very good for the first 9 yrs. New customers should watch their pricing on the budget plan. Apparently I had a discounted rate that expired in april 2012, they sent me a letter :)). They sent me the newest budget payment schedule for my december renewal and surprise suprise the monthly payment went up again(for the 5th year in a row), and it had gone up significantly again from the previous year. I looked at my most recent delivery and they charged me 4.69 per gallon, when I called they told me I could lock at a and quot;cappedand quot; rate of 3.89 per gallon for the next year. I told them I had always been on a capped rate and why would this change and why did they charge me almost a $1 per gallon over that for the last 8 months. They told me they would give me the capped rate of 3.89 for my last delivery. Shame on me for not reviewing the monthly bills since april, but I was on a budget plan so I didn't have to deal with the monthly reconciliation. My figures say my ignorance cost me about $1200 dollars in 2012, but after being with a company for more than 10 years, I expected more from them. They offered me a rate and budget payment about 150 dollars month lower from the contract they sent, I said thank you and proceeded to price new oil companies. I found Meenan oil who delivered their first delivery today as scheduled at a capped price 3.56 plus if the rates go below that rate I get the lower rate. I guess never trust that a long time vendor will always do right by you. Lesson learned, and this is the reason I'm on this site now. Brinkers will never get my business again --- I'd convert to coal first.

You really have to haggle with them for a decent price. I finally got one when I got a very large bill for our first delivery of heating oil for the winter and called to cancel. Suddenly they were able to offer about $1.25 off each gallon of heating oil (a HUGE difference when you consider how many gallons you go through a year) and about $300 off of our annual service contract.
Their service has been good, with the exception of one annual service in which the person did not reconnect the furnace after cleaning it. When we tried to start it next, it would not restart. The technician that came to fix it said the guy who had done the cleaning had done this at least at 20 other homes he had been to.
My other (small) complaint is the person bringing the oil always leaves the backyard gate open, allowing our dog to escape.

They were very good to work with - big company, professionally run at the local level. I used them for Heating OIl in 2010, but switched to a different company once the first year introductory rate per gallon rises as does every oil company. I would use them again if they were to beat my best price per gallon for a Full Service contract.

I like their staff very much. They are the person who brings our oil and supplies it to each of the three houses. They are always friendly and has given me suggestions that I have taken and that have had positive impact for our homes and for the environment. I have had a new heating system put in one of the homes and that arrangement was done smoothly and quickly and capably. We have had air conditioning that was taken care by them. They have done cleaning and they have been very promptly about doing that. We had a tank emptied and filled in with foam and we were pleased with the outcomes of that. We have been very pleased.
