I've used Progress Plumbing twice now, and I find Chip (the owner) to be very easy to work with, and very responsive. Both times that I have had need to use the service, he has always given me the costs up-front, given me choices with good explanations, showed-up on site when promised and with the correct parts, and finished the work quickly and neatly the same day. Most impressive, the second time that I needed plumbing service, my old 80 gallon electric hot water heater was found to be leaking on a Sunday morning. I called his office number early Sunday afternoon and got his voicemail. I was expecting him to call me back on Monday and was just hoping he could get our water heater replaced sometime during the week, but he returned my call Sunday evening to say that he could be at my house Monday morning to do the job! He gave me a cost estimate and said that he would call me first thing on Monday morning to let me know what options I had for the water heater and what the exact costs would be, and if I wanted to go ahead, he would pick it up at the plumbing supply and bring it to the house and install it the same day. Monday morning he called me on the phone early as promised, gave me the options and costs, and I was able to make a quick decision. Within two hours he was at my house with the new heater, and had it installed and working within a few hours after that. He took away the old unit, and left everthing clean and neat. He made sure that I had all of the paperwork that went with the new unit, explained the warranty, and gave me the bill in the exact amount he had told me over the phone earlier. In both instances that I have used Progress, I found the costs to be reasonable and Chip to be a very nice individual to deal with. Possibly not the cheapest, but definitely not the highest (for the first service, which was not an emergency, I had gotten four cost estimates for the work before going ahead. Progress came in second lowest of the four, but seemed to be the most responsive). I have found his work to be excellent, and have not needed any follow-up visits for corrections or problems. I can highly recommend Progress Plumbing.

The old hot water heater was very clogged and Chip had to work hard to get it drained and removed from the basement. We are very happy with the new 80 gal hot water heater and have had no problems. We have had Chip do work for us before and are very happy.

A valve under the kitchen sink was leaking and since it required removing and replacing the existing copper supply lines, was not a task I wanted to undertake. I called Progress, left a message and received a call back shortly thereafter and we scheduled the appointment for two days later. He arrived on schedule and completed the work quickly and with a minimum of fuss. He was pleasant and very easy to work with, which has not always been my experience with some other plumbers I've used. I really have no way of knowing if the price was truly competitive, but the charge was roughly what I expected it to be.
Description of Work: A very simple repair. Replaced two 40 year old, leaking shutoff valves in copper lines supplying the kitchen sink. Required removing about 18 inches of existing copper supply lines and replacing with new vales and copper lines.
