We had the pleasure of working with Jennifer on a kitchen gut renovation and family room addition at our home. From the very outset she was focused on understanding our lifestyle, design preferences, budget and timeline and providing us architectural solutions that would align with all of these parameters. She also spoke in a language we understood, was so pleasant and responsive, and came up with great, creative solutions when challenges in the construction process materialized. Our end product was so much nicer than we ever could have imagined- more stylish, comfortable, and containing every single feature we considered essential and then some. I would not hesitate to work with Jennifer again, and would also be happy to show any prospective clients of hers the wonderful work she did at our home.

Jennifer did an excellent job reviewing with us what changes we'd like to make as well as adding her own ideas. She drew up the plans in a very timely manner and reviewed them with us. I would highly recommend Ms. Baxter to anyone who needs to hire an architect. A++

Working with Jennifer Baxter was one of our best moves and an outstanding value. She's a good designer with years of experience at a high-end residential architecture firm. When we worked with her she had recently gone on her own, so that she could balance work and family life. Consequently we received very high quality services at an affordable price, and she was willing to take on smaller projects.
Our home had a tiny powder room next to an oversized closet. Jennifer suggested borrowing space from the closet to make a good-sized powder room next to a smaller coat closet, and devised an excellent floor plan. Her design was thorough and practical when it came to construction realities.
The balance of the work Jennifer did for us was advisory. We were not doing big, fun design projects, but rather addressing many duller problems our house had like antiquated electrics, old heating systems, warped floors, and some ugly elements from earlier remodels. With Jennifer's help we were able to take on these varied projects without engaging a general contractor.
She suggested skilled carpenters, flooring firms, heating and air contractors, etc. When we had a concern about a structural condition in the basement she was a helpful interface with a consulting engineer. I was able to oversee and direct a lot of the work, but it was very useful to have Jennifer's expertise to call upon when needed. Unlike some architects we have worked with elsewhere, Jennifer was aware of costs and helpful at guiding us to a high level of quality where it counts, but not a wasteful or oblivious level of expense. I would love to work with her on a larger design project.
