They did a bad Job and then issued a Bad Check! Mr. Rooter installed a new Well Water Pump incorrectly at my home, it was actually installed 15 feet short of the well and burnt out within 3 months due to the incorrect installation. After almost two months of back and forth, no running water and the involvement of another company to fix their mistake, they finally recently admitted to their mistake and issued a refund in the form of a check. That check then proceeded to BOUNCE due to "Insufficient Funds" now costing me additional bank fees. It has now been two days with no response to calls and emails. Do not do business with this company. Sorry I had to give one star just to post.

Not happy with service at all. Had an outdoor water pipe fixed no fault but my own. They came out and fixed it (2" long leading to valve). Six months later the line blew. They refused to fix it even though it was under warranty. Said it was nature and could have happened anywhere.I told them they knew it was an outdoor pipe and they fixed it with a pipe the thickness of an aluminum can. They said they only come in one size which is BS. Since then, I wrote again asking for help. In doing so, I was nice both times. No reply. I have no choice but to let people know not to use them as they use cheap parts and do not back up their work.

Serviceman came to unclog my drain. Got to my house and used my shop vac to suck out the toilet paper that had backed up out of my floor drain. Then told my wife there wasn't a problem and gave her a quote for a sump pump we don't need. Talked to a manager and they refused to reimburse my service fee after I bought a snake and did It myself.

Terrible! We have used Mr Rooter for a number of years. Most recently within a few weeks they did two major and expensive jobs for us. On the second job the estimate was over $5000. They gave the estimate on Thursday and scheduled the work for the following Monday. They also took my credit card info prior to the work. On the day of the job there were some discussions on the scope of what they would do and because of some scope changes, the cost dropped by about $500 (not exact). The technician updated our invoice and said he would let the home office know of the change. To my surprise, when I got the credit card bill, the higher amount was charged with no credit. I called Mr Rooter office over three times over as many weeks and was always told that the accounting department would call back -- they never did. My husband called last week and escalated this issue to management and we scanned and sent the corrected bill. We were promised a refund. Now a week later still no refund I am really tired of being ripped off and getting the runaround. I plan to contest the charges with my credit card company since Mr Rooter still has not made good on the promised credit. March 11, 2020

The sewer was reopened and a camera was put through to see how bad the sewer was. It needed replaced or relined. They charged me $500 to reopen the sewer and make a video for the insurance co. I have coverage for that. Then they gave me a bid for $15,500 to reline the sewer. I think my mistake was in saying I had "sewer line " insurance. I felt the bid was way to much even though I wasn't paying for it. So I called another company and got a new bid. The new bid was $12,500. So, I took the 2nd bid. Roto rooter called back to see if they got the bid. I told them know , they were to high. Then , they offered to rebid. I said no. My advice to anyone with line insurance is don't let the company bidding know that you have it.

I already had a new kitchen faucet set and supply lines before calling to schedule a next day installation. It snowed a couple of inches overnight, so early the next morning, we swept clear the driveway & sidewalk, spread some sand & waited for the plumber to arrive. We then got a phone call telling us to reschedule because he couldn’t make it up our driveway. I went out to see what the problem was and found him stopped on the side of the road. It was a clear day, the driveway was swept clean and sanded, but he refused to either drive or walk to the house, saying he couldn’t carry his drain cleaning equipment. I told him the drains were fine, that this was a faucet installation. All he said was reschedule in good weather and drove away. Seriously?? Its winter in Pennsylvania. What was the problem? I also had reason to wonder about his qualifications. During our conversation, I said we had hoped he would auger the toilet that had backed up just that morning. I learned that the company lifts toilets instead of using augers, but that he doesn’t lift toilets. So, Mr. Rooter had sent us someone who apparently works only if the weather is just so and doesn’t do toilets. We’ve used the company over the years with hit and miss results, but this was the first time someone actually refused to come to the house.

They were very professional and honest. Yes the price was high each time but the work that needed to be done was extensive. I think for what needed to be done the price was fair plus it's guaranteed. For the water heater they came same day, installed, brought up to code and was reasonable. I would hire them again in a heartbeat.

I came home in the evening on the 29th of June and I didn't have any running water.  I called Mr. Rooter Plumbing and asked if they could send someone out  in the morning.  By 8:00am their technician Brock showed up at my house.  He was polite, professionally dressed, and had a photo name tag on.  Unfortunately, the problem was in my well which is in a wooded area down over a hill from my house.  Once Brock evaluated the situation; he informed me of everything he needed to do.  Since the pump and pressure tank sit down in my well this was not a job that only one person could do.  Brock had to leave my house to get the pump and pressure tank that he needed.  When he returned with the parts another technician named Paul showed up as well.  The work they did in my well was not  easy and it took up most of their day but they were polite and professional through it all.  I appreciate their dedication to a difficult job.  I would recommend them to anyone and I will definitely call them if I ever have any other plumbing issues.

It went very well I would definitely recommend Mr. Rooter to anyone. From the customer service to the techs everyone was so nice and respectful, they gave me a time frame from 11-1 and at 11 the tech was at my front door. I will for sure call them for any problems I may have in the future.

The service was simple and professional. The technician, Joe Maggio, showed up and showed us his Menu Pricing Guide and we agreed to have the Drain special done at $76. Within minutes, Joe was in the basement clearing the drain. He even gave us a Worry Free 1 year guarantee. We are very thankful for Joe and Mr. Rooter.

You do the math!  (sorry this was so long, but everything is relevant)
Last week my garage drain backed up with sewer water.  (fortunately I caught it early and there was no damage to anything!).  Anyway, I figured that I would call Mr. Rooter for the $95 drain cleaning special that they advertise.  The technician arrived within the hour and was very polite.  The water had recessed at this point so he went back to the sink in the rear of the garage and ran water until he saw the sewer water come up.  He did look at the exposed 6" standpipe located next to the sink and looked down and observed the clean out plug at the base. I told him that there are two toilets connected to that stand pipe.  He quickly went to work running a snake down the garage drain for about 10 minutes.  He had a very small auger bit on the tip of the snake and the snake was only going down about 7-8 feet and stopping (note that I live in a split level house and this particular floor drain goes straight down approx. 6 feet before the trap). After 10 minutes he told me that this was the worst clog that he has seen in a long time.  He told me that the line had to be broke and then went to his truck and brought his price book out.  He told me that he would first suggest running a reverse water pressure machine from the air vent located in the driveway (about 10' from where the garage drain is located) back up towards the drain and that would cost $875.  He then said that probably wouldn't work, but that he would try it if I wanted.  He then said the package that Mr. Rooter offered to fix this type of serious blockage would be to break up the garage drain, dig down, tear out the trap and then figure out what was causing causing the backup and repair it.  Not only would they replace the drain that they had to break out, but they would also fix the issue that was causing the blockage (that was obviously within 2 feet of the trap). They would fill the dirt back in and repair the garage floor.  He said that he would (do me a favor) and also run a camera snake through the rest of my drain to make sure it looked ok.  He then turned the page on his price book and this service would cost $4,975.00  (YES - FOUR THOUSAND, NINE HUNDRED, SEVENTY FIVE DOLLARS AND ZERO CENTS!)  He said that they would apply the $95 clean out fee to the cost of the repair.  To say the least I was speechless.  I asked him if he should run the snake down the main stand pipe clean out at the rear of the garage and he just shook his head and said that wouldn't do anything. (Um, that is the same stand pipe that the toilets are connected to that are backing up and overflowing the garage drain that is the lowest open point of this line).  I went to talk with my wife and she said that she thought we had the insurance offered by the local water company and went to find an old bill.  She quickly told me we did have the insurance and I told the technician.  He said if I have the insurance then definitely use it.  He cleaned up and gave me the $95 bill, which I paid, and left (He was a very nice guy and was very polite).
I called the local water company and was quickly put in touch with the emergency service team who opened a ticket and told me that a local plumber would be calling me shortly.  The local plumber technician called within an hour and made arrangements to come out first thing in the morning (only half of my house was affected by this blockage so I still had one bathroom and the kitchen functional so it could wait).  The tech arrived early the next morning and went to work clearing the line.  He brought out a snake that was twice the size of the snake that Mr. Rooter used.  He spent about 10 minutes going down through the garage floor drain. After the third attempt he pulled up dirt on the end of the snake which indicated a break in the line right below where he was working (note: This is the first time that dirt came up on either Mr. Rooter's or the local tech's snake).  Then he told me that he would have to go in through the stand pipe clean out at the rear of the garage.  He had to hook up a second longer line to the snake and it took him two tries to clear the blockage. (the size of the clean out heads that he put on the snake was much larger than the one Mr. Rooter used).  He said that I would need to file a separate claim with the water company to have the trap repaired, cleaned up and left.  I called the next morning and the insurance company informed me that we only had the basic insurance that covers unclogging the lines and that line damage that is under the foundation is NOT covered, which my line was.  I called the plumbing company that came out the day before and asked how much it would cost to make the necessary repairs to my drain.  The owner of the company said that it would probably be around $500 but may be more because of the depth on the line.  I said ok and the same tech and a assistant came out the next morning, dug up the line, found another break in the line about 1 foot from the garage drain trap (this is what caused the backup), repaired it all, filled the hole back in and poured cement to repair everything that they cut out.  Everything was done within 6 hours and I ended up paying $600 because they had to continually use the jack hammer to dig down the 6 feet to get to the problem.
Yikes - Mr. Rooter $4,975.00 - local plumbing company - $600.  Hmmmmm.....   You do the math.
PLEASE NOTE:  This is only my personal experience with Mr. Rooter.  I don't know if all customers are given the same pricing sheets that I was shown.   My advise - Please call local plumbers for price estimates.  Or better yet, get the premium insurance through your local water company.

They inversely dug up my French drain. They agreed to repair it and they have yet to come back to fix it. Mark Loughran, set up the finances and told me my payment would be between $80-100. On my last statement it was $251 minimum. I have gone back and forth with Mr. Rooter and Mark L. to get it corrected. They continued to give me the runaround. Last week, they finally came out with a new agreement that I signed however Synchrony bank says they never received anything. I did not budget to be paying that amount on a monthly basis. I would not recommend this company. The grades that you will see below are based on the administration on how that was handled not so much the work or staff that was used. Once they get your money, they do not return your phone calls.

I would rate it poor. They were overpriced and when they replaced the line they contracted someone else to pump the septic tank and that wasn't incorporated into the price. The had designated $550 to have it pumped out and the contractor didn't realize that it was built into my bill, so he wrote me a bill for $295 which I didn't’t have to pay, but Mr. Rooter still charged me $550 for a job that he didn't’t do, all he did was contracted it out. So he charged me an extra $265 than what I would have had to pay if I would of gone through the contractor myself.  Now I am having a problem with an odor coming back up through the basement so I called them back and they scheduled me an appointment to come out between 11 and 1 and they never showed. I’ve called them back and they have said that I am next on the list, then I call them again, and they say again that I am next on the list, we’ll call you. They ended up calling me back at 10 ‘til 8 that night and that was not acceptable. The job they did was good work, but I had a lot of other issues.
