Doug's Tree Service

They work hard and fast - came on one day and removed branches and debris from neighbor's yard and then returned on a Sunday to remove root ball and rest of tree trunk.

Minor glitch with glass table broken by small branch. They were short staff for about an hour due to need to remove trunks of trees . The tree climber and chain sawer were awesome as was the whole event. We used them before when hurricane knocked tree onto house causing major damage.

After obtaining a permit to have our tree trimmed by the city Arborist, we reached out to Doug's for an estimate.  They were there the very next day to drop off their estimate based on the Arborist's recommendations.
We contacted their scheduler to have them complete the work prior to the permit expiring.  We were given a tentative date of service estimate of 6 to 8 weeks (which meant we potentially would need a new permit).  They assured us that the work would be completed prior to our original permit expiring-- and it was.

They advised us on how to obtain no parking signs from the city as well as how many no parking signs to obtain.
On the date of service, they were right on time, completed the work quickly, cleaned up after themselves and left.
Price was exactly what was quoted.  My wife and I were impressed and absolutely would use them again to trim or remove a tree from out property in the future.

Great . They came out when I was home and went over the details of the job. They cleared up every thing before they left and returned for their sign in a timely manner.

Only problem was promptness. They were several weeks over what they orginally promised and was told there was a change in the clerical staff that seem to have misplaced my bid. Then the first team came to cut limbs off the tree to removed and waited nearly a week to have the primary part of tree removed. Good job of clean just a little slow getting things done.

He did an excellent job or we would not have had him back again. He is professional and always cleans up after himself.

Unreliable. Rescheduled twice because of "terrain," yet 80% of work on flat land. Owner verbally abusive, offensive language. Deplorable customer service. Would not recommend, especially for the elderly. Contracted with another service.

Very smooth, quick estimate, quick insurance certification, quick work, cleaned up, took an extra few limbs off we asked for. Very easy to work with.

The experience was very good. They cleaned up well after themselves, no debris left around. They ask questions before they act on something they might need to do. They were very professional.

They didn't call before they came, however, they never gave a days notice or anything, but just showed up. That was really the only negative.

It went good. He was on time, polite and professional. I would use him again in the future.

The setting up of the estimate and the consulation was great was confident we had chosen the right company. The work was to fix trees that had been badly damage in a storm and to put a support wire in at least one tree. The first appointment had to be cancelled due to weather issues. The problem came with the run around trying to get them to come out and do the acutal work. I wouldn't have had a problem if they would have spoken to me and explained any back log issues they had, but no body would return my calls. We waited appox 6 weeks until I spotted another tree service in the neighborhood and gave the work to them.

If it wasn't for the price to have a large tree removed from my yard
which was by far and away the cheapest estimate I would not
recommend..In removing the tree a bucket truck was brought into my yard
which was understandable due to the size of the tree being removed but
at no point were there any mats put down to protect my lawn from the
weight of the truck therefore DESTROYING my lawn..Even though they came
back out to repair the portion of my lawn which was damaged, about 50% I
feel as though they should have at the very least reseeded my lawn as
well.

I contacted Doug a year ago or to give us an estimate to trim two very large trees on our property. Doug was very knowledgeable about the trees we needed trimmed. His estimate was on the spot and I hired him on the spot. I was not there the day they came out but I knew as soon as I drove in the trees looked "different" and I realized they had been there. The property was spotless - you would not have known they were there. Very professional staff - and we are planning on having them back next year to trim the same trees and a couple of more!

Called for an estimate, a man came out in a reasonable time to do an estimate, we filled out the appropriate paperwork and the office lady told us they would call us to set up a time to come. We mentioned many times that they would need to give us a days notice, so we could leave the gate unlocked and tell our neighbor since they were to use his driveway to get access to our backyard. They came on a Saturday with no notice, and were not able to do it since our neighbor wasn't home to move his vehicle. They came a few days later, again with no notice, and when I didn't answer the door (I didn't hear it). They proceeded to jump over our 7 foot gate. I was in the kitchen and randomly saw a man jump over. I am a work at home mom of two, so I did NOT appreciate trying to figure out what was happening. I would have at least appreciated a phone call to let me know they were here when I didn't answer the door. They also proceeded to drive in the neighbors grass which was not stated in the original estimate (they did say we would need permission to use their driveway). The whole process was very unprofessional. They did do a great job with the tree removal part and left when finished. We received a bill a few days later in the mail.

They took care if it quickly, he knew what he was doing and everything was neat when he left. The price was reasonable or we wouldn't have used them.

IIt was a positive experience. They are just really good to work with and they also do the work very safely which is important to me. Their price is very competitive. It's a very dangerous thing to cut down a very big oak tree as it a giant tree which is 50 feet tall and if it is not done safely they would have got hurt and they were very good.

Winter snow caused our three 25 foot tall evergreens to bend to the ground. After the snow melted they did not recover. Most of the branches were laying on or near the ground. I thought they would have to be cut down. I told the service if possible we would like to save the trees. I was really surprised at what a great job they did cabling the tress back together and removing a few branches that could not be saved. The only difficulty was that often I had to communicate with them through their answering machine. Nonetheless it was worth the trouble - the price was good and the result was better than I hoped for.

It went well - I left them a voice mail with my address and what I wanted. A guy came by my house, walked around, and put an estimate in my mail box. We mailed them authorization to begin and one day they just showed up. (At this point, I had never actually talked to anybody directly).

Three guys came by and spent the day cutting down the big tree and topping the other ones. They took it down to a stump and left a nice stack of chopped up tree in my front yard next to a Doug's Tree Service sign. It stayed there for about 3-4 days, then they came back, took away all the logs, and got rid of the stump.

They left the location clean, did exactly the work that they said they were going to do, and then sent us a bill. The bill came in at their estimate.

All in all, a great response - they came recommended (from Home One Handyman, who I have used before) and fully lived up to expectations. I would use them again.
