Akropolis Marble & Granite‎

The craftsmen did an excellent job repairing my granite. Great customer service. My job was scheduled within 48 hours after my initial call and the job was completed within that same week. Great service start to finish!

What a tremendous experience I had with Akropolis. This was my first big house project, and my counters came out even better than I imagined--the white quartz I got is GORGEOUS. The measurements didn't take long at all, fabrication was quick, and the install was seamless. Such professional work and I could not be more pleased! Highly recommend these folks!

They were very professional and clean with installation. There was a little bit of water dripping, but I fixed that myself.

I had did some research beforehand and found that they have the most reasonable prices. The consultant, Isabella, was very knowledgeable and helped me with my selection of the counter top. She was very patient and helpful. When they delivered my counter top, they put a small dent in our refrigerator door. They replaced the door with no questions asked. They were wonderful.

They had lots of options and they all looked great, don't know the quality since we didn't end up using them. The rep, Mike, was helpful in selecting our pieces, and he works with our contractor on the pricing. When it came time to begin the work, they suddenly changed the terms of the deal, increased the pricing and added another delivery fee. It was very disappointing and we had to start the whole process over and find another company. A shame, they lost our deal, all of our contractor's future business, and inconvenienced us. Even when I called to ask questions, they never returned my call.

In July 2008, I moved into a new home built by Philomeno and Salamone Builders. Akropolis Marble & Granite installed the granite, New Venetian Gold, that I had selected for my master bathroom countertop.   Within a month, I noticed that the countertop was showing waters spots. John, the construction supervisor for the P&S Deer Lake subdivision, scheduled an appointment for Akropolis to come look at the granite. Two men from Akropolis came and kept insisting that the company had not installed the granite and that it was not a “natural stone” product. When I was unable to convince them that Akropolis had installed the product and that it was indeed granite, they left. I then called John again and he set up another appointment with Akropolis and made sure that he was present the following week when different Akropolis employees came to my house.   This time they noted the water spots and buffed and resealed the part of the countertop where they were. A couple of months later, the countertop was covered with water spots. Tom Shannon, who was the Regional Account Manager for Akropolis at the time, came out and personally buffed and resealed the entire countertop. A couple of months later, the countertop was again covered with water spots. I have always cleaned the countertop with products that were specifically indicated to be safe for granite.   A few weeks ago, I again decided to try and find out why the countertop shows every water spot and looks so bad. I called Akropolis and spoke to a man named Chris who told me that Tom Shannon was no longer with the company but that he could help me. I told him my issue as outlined above, and he said he could not find a record of any visits to my home or any information about my problem whatsoever. He said he would investigate this and call me back.   After a few days when he had not called back, I again called him. He said that he could find no previous information about my problem. He suggested that I try to remove the water spots with fine gauge steel wool. I said that it would not be a sensible solution to have to use steel wool every month as that is how often the water spots returned after the buffing Akropolis had previously done. In addition, at this point there is really not any part of the countertop that does not have a water spot on it and it is not reasonable use steel wool on the entire surface every time I clean it. At that point I suggested that he send someone out to look at my countertop. Chris told me to send him a picture of the water spots and provided me with his email address. I tried taking pictures but the water spots did not show up well. I emailed Chris this information and again asked for someone to come out and look at the granite. I received no response. A few days later I again emailed him and asked for someone to come out and look at my granite. (See enclosed emails.) Again, I received no response.   At this point, I am quite frustrated. I have had to work ridiculously hard to try and get just basic customer service from Akropolis and have failed. This is very surprising to me in this day and age when many companies are struggling and do not want to lose any customers. Thus, I will also send a copy of this letter to Philomeno & Salmone Builders as I strongly believe that they should not use Akropolis for future jobs based on their lack of customer service. I will also send a copy of the letter to Angie’s List so that anyone needing granite or marble installed will see my poor review of Akropolis and definitely think twice about using them. Now I will have to contact another granite company and actually have to pay to have them fix Akropolis’ poor work which clearly was never right upon installation.

Akropolis had a large selection of granite and marble at their showroom.  The salesman was very patient and answered all our questions as we were making our decision.
Pricing was comparable to other places we checked.  They were prompt when coming out to the house for measurement and installation.
We were very pleased with the entire process and are very happy with our new countertop.

They were very good, we had no problems.

They did a really nice job of cutting and placing this countertop in our kitchen. The men that came were professional and very courteous.
