All work was done according to plans and without any problems.

My parents had a good experience and were very pleased. I thought the cost seemed reasonable.

Russ returned our call & came out promptly for an estimate. During the estimate, he cleaned the high gutters & suggested leaf guards. He also pointed out potential problems (rotten boards, etc.) and suggested fixes. His estimate was conservative and he stuck to it. While doing the work, he made some additional repairs without charging extra. We were extremely satisfied with the work & Russ's honesty. We will certainly call him in the future.

Called contractor because of good reviews on Angie's list. Showed up for estimate. Did not show up on agreed on date to do work. Did not call. P.S. This was BEFORE Sandy. ADDENDUM: I find it very intersting that this contractor has the time to put a response on Angie's list, but has NEVER contacted me personally since I wrote the review. Obviously, the priority is to make it look good on Angie's list.

One of our 20 yr old skylights had been shattered by part of our chimney breaking free and landing on it. Modern Exteriors came out right away to access the situation. They wrapped the broken skylight with plastic so any potential rain would not make the situation worse. During this assessment, they were able to give quotes for various options. We eventually elected to replace the broken skylight (and the one next to it) with new skylights that have pre-installed solar powered blinds. We highly recommend getting the solar powered blinds. They are a great feature. Once the skylights came in, Modern Exteriors scheduled the replacement right away. They were able to use the existing shingles around the skylights; something that is important for roofs with shingles that have been discontinued. There have been no leaks, and they even survived Hurricane Sandy. It's been a pleasure working with Modern Exteriors and they provided a quality product and service ,and at a reasonable price.

We've worked with Russ for several years --- gutter cleaning, gutter installation, roof repairs. He's a great guy to work with and does a fantastic job for a fair price. He started out doing our routine gutter cleaning, but over the years we've found him to be very knowledgeable on all things roofing. He is super reliable and looks out for his customers. One of the best contractors we've ever worked with.

Representative from the company came out the same day I asked for the quote. Very punctual. He inspected the gutters and roof and provided a quotation in person and then via email. We agreed on a date and he showed up right on time and made quick work of our overloaded gutters. The representative did a great job and we will use them again in the fall.

He came to our house to look at what needed to be done and told us that he would send us the estimate in mail. It has been 2 weeks and we are still waiting for it. I will never hire this person nor recommend him to my friends

From first inquiry to completion of service, a highly satisfying experience. We opted for the lowest of four estimates?not always a reliable barometer, but in this case, we hit the jackpot.

The last time our house was reroofed the installer had failed to replace the flashing which had allowed the rain to run down under the sun room room, rotting out the decking. It was invisible from the outside but had caused leaks on the inside. No one knew exactly where the water was coming from. Russ had previously installed flashing and added vinyl drip guards to the house to fix these leaks but the rotten decking needed replacing and he was the person to do this. This job not only took roofing repair "know how" but certainly added an artistic touch so that it is impossible to tell that the roof had been taken off and repaired. it takes a real craftsman to do that kind of work. Not only did he do an excellent job matching the roofing repair, he was able to finish the work before it started raining later that day.

They were very good. They were very quick to respond. I wasn't home when they came to fix it but they were good. Their price was half the price of others. They finished the job very quickly. In fact within a matter of a week they did everything. They were neat and clean.

Russ spent an hour looking at the roof from outside and even crawled into the attic to look at the inside. He could not find a n obvious problem but caulked our ridge shingles. He only charged me a service call. I will definitely use him again for roof or siding issues.

The original roofer had failed to install step flashing which had allowed the garage to leak for years. Other roofers had merely applied another layer of caulk and hoped that would do the trick. Another roofer had deliberately withheld information from me which would have cost hundreds of dollars. I found out that Russ replaces drywall in the ceiling and he'll repair the damaged garage ceiling. It is such a pleasure to find a workman that is honest, courteous and knows what he's doing. If you're looking for an honest workman who can figure out how to solve a problem and is willing to follow through with the work, then Russ at Modern Exteriors is the guy you're looking for.

I have had a leak in my guest room for about 4 years. The water seemed to be coming in from the gutters and eaves. I had the gutters replaced and enrolled in a very expensive gutter cleaning service. The leaking continued. Then I hired a handyman firm to work on the problem. That company charged high dollars to replace rotted wood and repair the ceiling in the guest room. The leaking continued. I then decided that it was time to hire someone who did only exterior work. I found Modern Exteriors on Angie's List and had them come over. Within 20 minutes, Russ told me what the problem was and also told me about some other things that may become issues in the future. I decided to repair those as well. Russ' estimate included replacing about 1/4 of my roof in the front of the house, replacing the fascia and soffet and replacing the collars around all of the vents and the chimney. The work was scheduled for 2 weeks later and was completed in 2 days. He also cleaned my gutters whle he was on the roof. I'm am SO happy to report that there is no more water leaking in to my guest room.

this is a large house with a lot of gutter. Russ came in with one other guy and spent almost three hours. They did a wonderful job. They also spread breach on the roof for kill the Algae. They are very professional and friendly. I will definitely use them again next time.

Responded promptly. Provided an estimate and did the work on the same day. Estimated $100 but upon completion of the job only asked for $80. Awesome!

I am very satisfied with the work that Russ completed. He showed up every day, often times in very cold weather, until the job was completed. The quality of work appears to be excellent. He tore off an old roof, installed decking, replaced 2 skylights, and installed new asphalt shingles. He also replaced a window with a new frosted glass window. Exhaust fans were installed in two bathrooms that had no ventilation systems. Finally, he replaced a hose valve and repaired damaged piping. Russ kept the work areas clean, it never felt like an active work zone. I would recommend Modern Exteriors to anyone, and plan on using them again in the future.

That is going very well. It protects the wood and eliminates the need for painting. The job has been interrupted by weather, but he is doing a beautiful job. The price is excellent.

The guy emailed very quickly to tell me he would call, but he never called. I'm going to contact another company.

The guy fell off a ladder and broke his back last year. His name was Russ and he was great. We would like to get him back but we don't know when he will be back to work. He is amazing. Before he left from the estimate, he said that he couldn't leave because he had to fix a part of our roof that was going to leak because it was going to rain soon. He fixed it before he left to give us the estimate. He is very reasonable. We trust him as a person and would like to have him back.

I called Russ on a Tuesday, and we were able to schedule a meeting on a Sat afternoon. At precisely 1 PM, Russ arrived. We needed our gutters cleaned, and in addition, we asked Russ to look at the entire gutter/downspout situation, as there were repair needs. He did a great job of both cleaning the gutters and disposing of all of the crud. Russ identified an number of deficiencies (ineffective slope of gutters, missing downspouts, etc.), gave me a proposal for labor and parts, and we agreed he'd call the following week to schedule the job. Last week, Russ completed all of the work to our satisfaction.
