They were great!  They were neat and clean!  I didn't have a single mark on any of my paint jobs.  The windows look great and I would highly recommend them.  They even washed all the windows when they were done.

While the sales pitch was very aggressive, they did instill a sense that they could be trusted in my wife (and she is the one that counts).  The price was on the higher side of what we had expected but in line with what the other estimates we received were.  We opted for the top of the line vinyl siding with the insulated backing (something that was recommended by an energy audit) and with two different types of siding, lap for the main house and 'cedar' shake for the gables to provide some architectural interest.
The siding installation crew was outstanding!  Very professional.  This is the only major job that I have contracted out for, I prefer to do the work myself, I was initially concerned about the attention to detail that they would bring.  I was not disappointed, they took a lot of pride in their work and it shows.  The job was scheduled for there days but ended up taking five.  This was due to two things, the additional manpower that was promised did not show up and that the team that was here were perfectionists.  In the end, I am glad they took the additional time and made everything just right.  If I saw something that I thought was not quite there, before I could say anything, the team would already be working it.  But this was the siding crew (85% of the job), the gutter crews were not as sharp, in fact the crew chief for the siding made the gutter crews redo things as he did not like how they were going about their part of the job and did not want it to distract from his excellent work, a different crew was sent out for the front of the house.  I refused to sign off on the job until they took care of the cables that are routed from the satellite antenna down a gutter spout, they routed some of it behind the spout but left the top part just dangling.  They tried to give me some excuse as to why they could not do the work, I said fine, but I would not sign off until it was done and get someone out to do it right.  They figured it out then...
My only issue was the lack of communications from the project managers, delays were not communicated to me, I had to ask the crew chief, who would make a call then let me know.  I just felt that they should have been more proactive with a customer spending this much money on a job.
Again though I am very happy with how the siding was installed.  I could not be more pleased with the eventual outcome.

Power Home Remodeling Group were completely fast. They did it in one day and had one roof stripped, the other one replaced and I had a pretty large roof; it was quite impressive. They were pretty cool. There were some things that we wanted for them to go back and check but nothing major. According to them I will never have to use them again, they're guaranteed for a lifetime.

From the initial estimate and until the job was complete, I found this company very professional.     Even though it was a late start on the actual roofing job, due to the crew having a flat tire, they promised me that  the job would be completed that day and it was.    Any questions I had while the job was being done was handled with professionalism.  They found damage that was under the old roofing, took pictures and showed me and explained what they were doing to fix the damage.   I felt very comfortable that the job was being done correctly and the best roofing material was being used.    Clean-up after the job was fantastic -- looked like there was never anyone there putting on a roof.

This was a case of a provider who happened to catch me at home on a day when I had a plumbing job being done, said they were in the neighborhood, and asked if I'd be interested in an estimate on window replacement.  I *did* have a broken window that I knew needed replacing, so I said ok.  The sales rep came back that same night with a 3 hour song & dance--yes, very persuasive.  The heat device demo that he showed me seemed persuasive, and I liked the fact that the windows have locks built in so you can leave them open a bit without danger of break-in, and the tilt-in cleaning feature.  Originally I ordered my three dining room windows replaced (it's one of the dining room ones that already been replaced by a former owner and the replacement was a very shoddy job.  I kind of got cold feet and decided to change the order to my 3 bedroom windows (which are in the back of the house and less visible), which have also been a little drafty, and then when the pre-install inspector came, I added back the broken dining room window to the order.  The contractor was supposed to arrive between 8 and 10, and showed up at 9:45, citing traffic on the expressway, which is reasonable coming up 476 to Bethlehem from Philly.  There was one installer who worked from 10 to 5 to install the windows (with insulation around them).  He was professional and did a good job of covering things over before beginning work and cleaning up with a HEPA vacuum after he was done.  So far the windows seem to work as advertised--the tilt works well, I can finally fully close and lock that broken dining room window again, etc.  I also happen to have one of those laser thermometer devices.  I just went outside on my porch, where it is 56 degrees.  My old wooden windows  from the inside are registering 64 degrees, and the new PHRG windows are showing 67 degrees.  So hopefully that extra 3 degrees will help me save a little bit on the heat next winter.
After arranging the job, I spoke with one of my neighbors, who had PHRG replace some of his windows 3 years ago.  He is having some trouble getting the windows to lock properly, so we'll see how that goes (they are lifetime warrantied for the life of the current homeowner).  Also the new windows are bright white vinyl and I kind of like the look of my old ivory colored wooden windows better--and now with the one white window in the dining room, I might feel like I need to  paint the insides of the others white to match.  The bedroom windows I'm reasonably happy with, so far--no real test yet, other than the laser thermometer.  But the dining room window, while definitely an improvement  from the broken window, I'm not totally happy with--in part because of the white rather than ivory color, but mostly because the outside of the window itself is four inches around.  My old wooden windows are 2" around the outside.  Losing 4" of glass acreage--which I did not realize in advance would happen--it's not obvious looking at the window itself--makes me very unhappy, and I'm glad I did not have the whole dining room done.  For the increased security and warmth, I'm not sorry that I replaced that broken window, but I think maybe 5 years down the line, I'll look for someone who can re-replace my new window with another old-fashioned wooden one that doesn't need so much of a frame.

This company is very professional. From first contact to measurement to final installation of the replacement windows, they answered every question, kept in contact for scheduling, always were punctual, and provided a professional installation. Their window is the best vinyl replacement unit I've seen. I would recommend them without hesitation.

Contacted Power Home Remodeling for estimates for replacement windows for my residence, including patio sliding door & entry way door.  Salesman was professional until....hesitancy shown towards EXORBITANT PRICE FOR PRODUCTS (as compared to other vendors).  Salesman then became rude & discourteous to my wife & I and was reluctant to leave without telling us off first.  Also, REFUSED TO LEAVE A WRITTEN ESTIMATE FOR SERVICES QUOTED.  Told me just to "...write it down".

They were the original windows for this house (built in 1964) and I expected it to be a big hassle with many twists. Turns out with all of the experience the crew had, the 2-3 day job we were told it would be was only a 1 1/2 day job. I couldn't be more pleased. Everyone was professional and, more importantly, NICE. They were nice to our children, easy to talk to and made me feel comfortable. It may not seem like a big deal but since my husband wasn't home for 80% of the job, it was a HUGE deal. We would definitely use them again in a heartbeat.

My husband and I were referred to Power through friends that used Power for their new roof and they were happy with their completed job. The day I called Power for a roof and gutter replacement estimate was the same day their amazing Saleman, Anthony was in our home. The estimate process lasted a few hours, but was effecient and educational. Anthony even went into our attic to look at the wood on the roof to see the condition it was in for replacement purposes. Anthony impressed us with his friendly personality and knowledge of the products he was presenting. We signed on with Power that night.
We did have an ordering issue once the materials were delievered almost exactly like another review I read on Angie's with the delievery of PRESS BOARD instead of plywood which postposed the job until my husband and I felt comfortable - but once started with the correct materials, the job was completed in two consecutive days (Day 1 was the complete removal of the old roof as well as the complete installation of the new roof & day 2 was fascia, soffit and gutters).
The workers were efficient, respectful and professional. No debris was left either day in our yard. We have a puppy and four small children and their safety was never a concern. We even had a party the night of the roof completion and nothing was left in anyones way to cause any concerns, inconvience or issues of any kind.
Our roof and gutters look AMAZING!!!!! We plan to use Power again down the road for widows and doors as well.

Gutter Repair and Replacement
$7,500
On 1/28/13, Power Home Remodeling Group came into my neighborhood, knocked on my door, and asked if I would like a free no obligation estimate for a home remodeling project, such as replacement windows, siding, roofing, etc.  I spoke to the consultant at my door about having my dark brown gutters and downspouts replaced with white gutters with gutter protection, and white downspouts.  He said he would like to come in and show me some of the work they have done, and tell me more about his company on his computer, and he would also give me a free estimate.  He was professional.
He was here longer than I expected - several hours, and I ended up getting an estimate to replace all my dark brown gutters with gutter protection, downspouts, fascia and soffit, with white ones, plus replace my eight shutters and add hinged S-hooks to each one.  The estimate was approximately $7,500, and when I asked how long the job would take, he told me approximately 3 days.  I signed an agreement that day, and the agreement stated under "Estimated project completion:  3 to 7 days".
They came to start the job around 10 a.m. on 2/19/13.  They sent four workers, one appeared to be the supervisor.  He put verbal pressure on them to get everything done quickly.  It became apparent that afternoon, that he expected them to have the job done by the end of the day.  It got dark around 5 p.m. that time of year, so that means the job was to be done within 7 to 8 hours (not three days, like I was led to believe.)
My complaint:  The job was not done correctly the first time, and I believe it was because of the pressure he put on his workers to get it done within one day.  We didn't have much rain that time of year, but when we did, I noticed a leak from the roof, where the corner of my garage and living room met.  Also, by the time they got to replacing the shutters that day, it was getting dark.  They couldn't find all the dark green screws to attach them, so they used other screws, which did not look right, when I inspected the work the following day.  The wrong screws were no big deal, but considering the money I paid, I expected it to be done right.
I called them about the leak and the shutter screws, and they sent someone out in about a week.  He took care of the problem.
Then, after another rain, I noticed the water ran off the roof, and instead of going into the rain spout, on both the back of my house over the deck, and the front of my house over the garage, the rain leaked between the rain spout and the soffit - instead of going into the rain spout.  Therefore, I had to call them and ask them to come again and fix the problem.
They sent two men approx. two weeks later.  I told the one man that the job should have taken a day and a half or two days to complete - not one day!  If they weren't in such a big hurry to get it done, it probably would have been done right the first time, and the need to send workers back two more times would have been unnecessary.
I realize I was foolish to sign an agreement without getting at least one or two other estimates and, also, without checking out the contractor.  Because of the pressure put on their workers to get the job done as quickly as possible, rather than take their time and get it done properly, I would not use this company again.

I give Power HRG, which recently did a complete roof tear-off and rebuild for us, a good review – but with a strong caveat. Beware their pricing and salesmen and negotiate well (see below).
First, the good: Power sent a team of hardworking roofers to our house before 8 a.m. on the day of the install and, by noon, they had the 100-year-old cedar shake roof completely torn off. Considering the enormous mess involved, they did a fantastic job keeping the job site clean. The debris blocked both doors of our house but they cleared a path so we could use one and, by 8 p.m., almost had the whole job done.
Unfortunately, they could not finish the job in one day as we hoped but did a very good job tarping off sections that were incomplete. We had very heavy rains the next day and the tarps prevented any water from getting in. On the third day the roofers came back and finished the job. They left the yard clean and did a really great job on the roof.
Now, the bad: We were in the market for a new roof and had begun getting estimates when a door-to-door marketer from Power approached us. He set up an appointment with a salesman (who refused to meet with us unless both my wife and I were present – he told my wife that her husband had to be there. Seemed very 1950s and sexist and she was insulted.) The sales pitch lasted a good three to four hours and started high – over $25,000 – but came down eventually to about $16K, a price inline with the other estimates. We went with Power because the roof they were selling sounded far superior to others and it came with a 50-year shingle and transferrable lifetime warranty (fully transferrable, they say, if we sell the house within 20 years.)
The downside was that the salesman insisted that GAF, the shingle manufacturer, insisted on 5/8" plywood as a base and he said that is all Power uses. It was an out and out lie! He made his presentation with a little house-shaped carryall and pulled each piece out as he discussed it – the shingle, the ice and snow shield, the water barrier and a square of 5/8" plywood.
After about four hours of negotiating I agreed to sign the papers. Later that week, after the rescission period ended, the salesman's supervisor called and, when I asked him to confirm that they will install 5/8" plywood he said they would, but it would cost extra. When I told him that is what we were sold (not what we asked for but what the salesman built his pitch on), the manager relented and sent us an amendment that put the 5/8" plywood in writing. (We had no guarantee in writing the night of the sale and that was my fault for not insisting on it. However, after a four-hour sales and negotiating marathon I was exhausted and missed it.)
Though we now had the guarantee of 5/8" plywood in writing, when the materials were delivered two days before the installation the lumber company brought 3/8" USB (a thinner, inferior underlayment commonly called "particle board"). I refused delivery, called Power, and the manager assured me a mistake was made and that they would bring 5/8" plywood the day of the installation. Had I not been home to check the delivery I don't know what would have happened. The job might have been delayed or we might have just said to h*** with it and had them install the roof with the USB. They no doubt would have told us it's just as good.
Ultimately, Power HRG did a good job on our roof and, we believe, gave us a good and fair deal. However, I believe their salesman was underhanded, slick and deceitful in his presentation and I'd advise caution.
CUSTOMER SERVICE: Despite the issue with the salesman and the plywood, Power HRG seems to care about customer service. I don't know if the delivery of USB was a mistake, as Power claimed, but once it was resolved there were no issues. The work crew was professional and efficient. During the installation we had three different managers on site – a foreman, a supervisor who stopped by to check on the job, and another manager who came by to activate the warranty.
I do recommend Power for a roof job but, as with all major purchases, I'd advise using caution, especially in dealing with their salesmen and in determining price and details of the job.

After being approached in our local warehouse store, I booked an appt to have a salesperson come out and talk to us about our windows.  We had original to the house windows that leaked.  Some of them had been replaced but we were looking to have our upstairs and attic done.  They came 2 days later and were extremely professional and went through the differences in different windows on the market as well as how they could help us.  They measured all the windows that we requested (14 windows), we decided the types and they priced it for us.  The price was really reasonable and we were able to finance it directly through them.  A week later they sent a project manager who was a contractor to confirm measurements and tell us about the crew that would be coming.  Our crew came yesterday - in the snow storm.  They showed up early and worked straight through.  All of the windows are in and everything was left clean.  We also have a transferrable lifetime warranty.  Everyone was friendly and competent and we couldn't be happier!  I wish I could remember everyone's names so that I could personally thank each and every one of them and give them a shout out here.

Their sales presentation was very detailed, and no corners were cut.  Based on that presentation, we chose them to to the job.   That day, there were three people, and the crew leader was a stickler for detail.  They encountered problems with the front door frame which kept them late, but they stayed to the finish.  We liked the service so much that I ordered a new garage door from them.

Jason and his partner arrived at the exact time of the scheduled appointment.  Both of the installers from the company got right to work and removed the old windows and replaced them with the more energy efficient windows.   They were professional, explained to me the work they were performing, etc.  They finished the work in a decent time frame.   The final product looked and worked great.  No problems.   They cleaned up all the materials they removed and left me home exactly the way they found it. I am a happy camper.

Power Home Remodeling is the pushiest company I've ever had through my house. I thought Thompson Creek was bad but Power Home is worse. They quote you a ridiculously high price but will give you 30% off if you sign immediately. If you won't sign now, the sales pitch goes on and I had to flat out tell the sales guy "you need to leave now. End of discussion." to get him out after three and a half hours. All I wanted was a roof estimate on a very simple roof! The price if I didn't sign today: $32,000. That's more than my brand new car cost!
About a week later, I got a call from a "manager" that there had been a "pricing error" in my neighborhood. He begged to come and give me an updated price - he wouldn't give it over the phone. Against my better judgement, I let him come out but warned him in advance that I was calling the police if he wasn't out in 30 minutes. His sign immediately price was just under $18,000 so a substantial decrease from before. However, he was still $5,000 higher than the next highest bid for the job as I now had five other estimates under my belt.
I ended up selecting the second lowest bidder, Exterior Home Center, who has an A rating on Angies List and who I had used before with great results. Total price $9325. Essentially half of Power Home. They did great quality work. And the sales pitch wasn't painful! The lowest bid was $6000 but it was clear that the contractor didn't know what he was doing.
While I can't speak to the quality of their work, Power Home Remodeling's prices are sky high and getting an estimate from them will take an entire evening. Be warned.
