I was very happy with the service provided. The original estimator was very thorough and, of the estimates I got on a new roof, the one from Prescott was the most complete and detailed. I found the workers very professional, hard working, and easy to deal with. So far as I can tell the job was very well done and covered all items originally agreed on. I would certainly recommend them to others and plan to consider them for any future work.

I initially contacted WM due to the other terrific reviews from users, and I see why they've been so positive.  I suffered some water damage due to a big storm that dropped several branches onto my slate roof, cracking it in multiple places. Upon inspection both on the roof and in my attic, they were able to identify other sources of water entering my home that had yet to show up on my ceiling. Scheduling initially appeared to be a challenge, but they were able to seal up my home from any future water entry in about a week and were able to come out due to a cancellation and finish the job a week or so later.  The three man crew that came out was courteous, knowledgeable, and hard-working.  They took care to put the plants and furniture back each of the three days that they were on my roof, and I didn't find any debris left from the work that they had done.  They answered all questions that I had during the job and explained things in simple terms.  I'd definitely recommend this company for your slate roof repair.

The company came out to look at the roof and determined that the amount of work needed to be done would not be able to be completed for the 2 hour coupon and felt that if they were to get on the roof it would cause more damage. They were very prompt and honest, but we have decided to request a refund for the deal.

I left a message requesting an estimate for a box gutter and roof repair. About a week later I found a business card from them on my doorstop. I received a written estimate in the mail about a week after that. Besides it being the most expensive estimate I received, I also never spoke with a representative nor saw the person who came to my house and, presumably, went up on my roof. We went with a more moderately priced contractor with whom I'd actually met in person.

I contacted the company through their website (which looks awesome) and they were very quick to respond.  I sent the message Sunday night and they responded the very next morning. They were booked for the next couple of weeks, which was the only reason that I chose not to use them.

They came out, did an evaluation and gave me an estimate for roofing. I needed some extensive work done such as insulation in my attic, a new roof, new gutters and down spouts. They gave me a quote of $14000. They were going to give me a vent that's a new technology and they quoted me a price that was outrageous so I wouldn't go with them.

They were very quick. They responded fairly well. I think it took them a couple of weeks to put us on their schedule but they were very unobtrusive. They didn't upset the house. They were very nice guys. I believe they gave us a good deal.

With the first call I made I was told they would set up an appointment to inspect and review work needed to be done.  They were true to their word.  The roof was actually inspected with Prescott climbing on the roof to inspect.  They gave an estimated start date and actually started a few days early.  The workers were professional and polite.  They cleaned up completely every day.  The roof looks amazing , my neighbors and even mail person has complimented us on the job they did. I  WOULD recommend them highly.  Great Job!!!!  Great operation.

Thing have gone really well with them. They were absolutely fantastic. They were very personable, professional and knowledgeable on what they were talking about. They were willing to work with us. They came to itemize different things. They did their thing well. They did seem a little disorganized in the paperwork department, they always seem to have problems finding our file but the only reason why was because of their disorganization, otherwise, they were usually completely on the ball. They get back to you quickly once they find everything. Every time they said that they would come out, they've always come out at the time that they said they were going to come.

First off it took several phone calls before I could get someone to return my call.  Once they did the office staff was great in getting someone set up.  When the gentleman came out to look at my roof he started saying negative things about the work that was done previously and that it should not have passed a home inspection.  He looked at my entire roof and gave his opinion about what needed to happen.  Again after several phone calls and a few weeks I got the estimate, he told me it would come with pictures but it did not.  Everything in the estimate addressed areas of the roof that I was not having an issue with and did not include the problem I called about.  My home was a flip that I purchased in 2009, the roof on my house was put on in 2008, not only did I have the work verified by a home inspector but had a very qualified independent contractor come out to give their thoughts as well.  All was good.  I believe the gentleman that came out was trying to take advantage of me and use scare tactics to get me to spend way more than I wanted to do work that was not needed.  I live in a 100+ year old house is it perfect no, but you would think according to them that it was going to fall down around me.  DO NOT USE THEM!!!!!

"Thank you and we appreciate your comments. Our mission when estimating is not to mislead, provide negative feedback for the work done from a prior contractor or to take advantage of any situation. We are in business to provide a fair price for the work that is necessary and to educate customers on how some repairs need to be done so that future problems do not occur even if we don't get the job. This has been an unusual spring for bad weather and many many repairs, some of which occurred in the winter which was also bad. We had gotten the original call on 5/19 & scheduled for 5/29. The detailed estimate and roof inspection was emailed on 6/9. There were (16) pictures sent via the estimators phone prior to the written estimate to show issues that were addressed in the roof inspection. Our estimator has 20+ years experience in this industry & he had found several issues with the roof in addition to the leak that he originally called us for. Some additional issues found were: tin flashings were reused and in poor condition, no Ice & Watershield underlayment over exposed wood, chimney flashing improperly done-not tucked into the mortar joints, lead vent pipe flashings not replaced - aluminum flashings installed over old, depressions in center of box gutters that was holding water, eave tube drains split and holes in bed of box gutters. There were additional issues to other portions of the roof as well. We felt that this roof was not installed properly & not sure how a roof inspector would have approved it in this condition. We do not use "scare" tactics when estimating just to put work on our schedule, we simply try to educate. There have been times that we have talked customers out of a new roof or an extensive repair because they were not necessary. This company has been providing this service for over 100 years with employees that have been here for over 30 years. We do not claim to know all the answers to every issue, but we will investigate. If there is an issue or problem that we can't solve, we do go to our suppliers for assistance or even ask other roofing companies how they would handle. We do not make a practice of just "putting a band aid" on a roof just for the customer to sell and make it someone else's problem, we won't even accept the job. We do appreciate all comments, good and bad. This helps us to grow and move forward."

5/19/2014: I called Prescott on to request an appointment for an estimate. I was told by Diane that worked had been slowed by the rain but I could expect a call in the next week

5/29/2014: I called Diane again and received the same answer--worked is backed up by the rain; you'll get a call next week

6/5/2014: I called Prescott, spoke to Chris, and requested that my name be withdrawn from the queue due to their inability to schedule. Chris spoke those words again: "We're so busy because of the rain. We get 25 calls a day; I've got 50 estimates to schedule."

Prescott couldn't schedule but I found 4 roofers who did so I'll choose one of them. My point for Chris, Diane and any other service provider is this: If your company is so busy they can't do an estimate for 3 weeks, tell the customer. That one job won't break you and the customer will respect you for saying, "We would love your business but we can't do an estimate until next month. Are you able to wait?"

"We appreciate your comments. At the time when this call came in, 5/19, we were approximately a week behind in scheduling which meant we had to contact customers that have already contacted us to reschedule. The month of May we had a tremendous amount of rain and storm damage which unfortunately changes a schedule. Towards the end of May some heavier rains came which caused major damage to homes in our area. Trees crushed homes and some roofs had blown open. We felt at this time these were most important to fix or at least tarp until we could complete the repair. We have always tried our best to communicate to customers but we apologize if some get missed or overlooked. We do make phone calls on a daily basis to keep customers informed or to check to see if they have been taken care of by another contractor. At times, we struggle to find the correct or right approach for each customer -1) to tell them we are behind, busy or booked for a time period, whatever this is, and can't give a schedule date (as we did in this case) or 2) schedule and have to reschedule due to weather. We pride ourselves with the service we have provided for the past 107 years to our customers and try to do our very best to accommodate each one. We do not want to make excuses for our actions but in speaking with other customers that are willing to wait they have been thankful that we answered the phone or actually returned their call. Again, in this instance we do apologize. It is comments like these that make you take a step back and refocus on how we conduct our business because it is the customers that have helped in our success."
