He responded to my initial call promptly, and an appointment was set up for the next week. He arrived at the right time and brought in protective mats to walk through the house. Work was done professionally, and he took time to explain what he did and how the system worked. The final bill was the price he had quoted to me. He left a radon test kit for us to submit for determining the radon levels in our home. I would highly recommend American Radon Solutions for anyone who has questions about radon.

Worker arrived on time, completed the work in the quoted time, and did a good job cleaning up. And to top it all off, I got a $25 "senior" discount! I used ARS four years ago when I had a radon system installed in my house. I didn't think twice about calling them again when I needed a qualified contractor for my new townhouse.

The pre-purchase radon testing for our 8 yr. old house showed higher than recommended readings so we contacted Am. Radon - the original mitigation system installer - after moving in to discuss additional mitigation. The owner did come promptly for a first app't, suggested some possible measures and stated he'd soon return with testing equipment. We re-contacted him three times over the next 3+ months but he never came back even when we set a specific app't time with him. If he didn't need or want our business, he should have told us this initially so we could have contacted another radon mitigation business.
Description of Work: Made one visit to us re supplemental radon mitigation and never returned as promised several times.

We have extremely high Radon level in area. This company and person providing installation is extremely professional. Communication and scheduling for installation was extremely smooth. Installation was performed very diligently in timely manner. It has been more than a year and never had issue with Fan or Radon level. After installation Radon level dropped down to acceptable level. Price was bit high but considering there overall rating and pressing issue at hand went ahead with them. I would definitely recommend them to anyone requiring Radon mitigation.

From the initial appointment American Radon Solutions was prompt professional and thorough. He came out right away after calling for an appointment and took the time needed to completely inspect our home for any hidden areas or leaks that could potentially compromise a secured mitigation system, He found existing trouble areas in our home we didn't even know existed !! After he laid out a prescribed plan for sealing and protecting our home I was very impressed as no other Radon specialists had even identified the potential problems we needed to consider.They worked very professionally and left the newly installed work site immaculate. Everything went very well. Owner gave me a price over the phone. Two workers came out at the appointed date and time. After a little discussion we agreed on the installation site. The installation was done quickly and the workers cleaned up after themselves. They left a test kit which showed that my radon level dropped way below the required level.

Received verbal quote from Tuan and was followed up by a email quote. His price quoted price was substantially better than at least two others. Tuan called a few days before to see if he could reschedule the service for an 1.5 hours later. This was not a problem and he would have kept the original time if it was. Two individuals showed up from American Radon solutions right on time and began to inspect the current system. Immediately they noticed that whoever did the initial installation of the Radon Mitigation made numerous mistakes. Not only was the radon fan located in the basement (which is why we were having it moved), but the pit was not properly sealed. Additionally the fan did not have the proper gaskets so they corrected that issue as well. The pipes in the basement were properly routed into the pit and sealed appropriately with a drain added. The fan was relocated to the attic and an electrical outlet was run into the attic to power the fan. The entire routing of the Total time for the two individuals was 2 hours. The team was courteous, provided guidance and cleaned upon leaving. I would highly recommend again.

Tuag provided me with an estimate to install a radon mitigation system approximately 1 to 2 weeks prior to doing work. After contacting several different companies, I decided to go with ARS because of their professionalism and upfront discussion, eventhough thier estimate was not the lowest. Workers arrived as scheduled, made sure that area was covered so not to track throughout home. Installed system within 3 to 4 hours, while answering any questions that I had. Workers were professional, courteous and quality of workmanship was excellent, making sure system was installed properly. Prior to install, the average radon level in my basement was 29.8 pCi/L. Several days after install, I retested and the average radon level was 0.7 pCi/L, which made me feel more at ease in my home. Job well done and I will recommend ARS.

The scheduling was a nightmare. Three missed appointments for the install from the first individual scheduled to do the work. Finally an installer showed up. He was very professional and did a very good job. He explaned what he was going to do. Did the work and cleaned up his mess. He is the one they should have sent the first time.

There was a small communication problem at one point, but it was resolved. Work performed was excellent! Basement and garage were left spotless, entire job took about 4.5 hours.

I decided to have a radon system installed in our home. Even though tests for radon were never really high (ranged from >4 to 10 pCi/L), it was still above the recommended action level. I found this company on Angie's List. I spoke with Tuan and we scheduled an estimate. He promptly arrived as scheduled. He mentioned that the job would be pretty straight forward. He was very professional and provided a written estimate within days. The men who performed the work were also very professional and courteous. Even so to the point of during extra work by drilling through the concrete wall in order for the outside pipe to be as low as possible to ground. This was not easy to do since the area was tight due to pipes and fixtures from our gas furnace and AC compressor. I was impressed with the quality of work inside and outside. All the opening were neatly sealed and pipe holders securely fastened. The entire job took a few hours and they cleaned all debris. I was provided instructions for maintaining the system and a record of the project. A radon test kit was also provided. After testing, our radon concentration was 0.4 pCi/L.
Description of Work: Installation of a radon mitigation system in my basement. A 3" PVC pipe was connected to my existing sump pit. My sump pit never had a pump in it. The pipe was routed outside and behind my garage to an in-line fan. An exhaust pipe was installed from the fan to above the roof line. An on/off switch for the fan was installed and all openings were sealed.

They took care to manage the dust related to drilling and made sure everything was completely clean when they left. They tested the installation and guaranteed the work. The installation when very well. They gave us a time they would be out, they showed up right on time. They said it would take a couple hours, which it did. The final price was actually cheaper than the estimated price, which we were very please with. Also, the were very neat and cleaned up after themselves when they were finished. I called American Radon on either the Thursday or Friday before the Memorial Day weekend for a quote on a radon mitigation system for my home in York, PA. The person I spoke with was nice, asked me questions about my home, etc. and said he would email me a quote. One week later I still had not received a quote, so I called back on Friday, June 1 to make sure they had the right email address and contact information for me. The person I spoke with found me in their system, apologized for not sending the quote, and thanked me for calling back to remind them. I was told I would have the quote that day. It is now Monday, June 4 and still no quote - I am certainly not calling back a third time just to get a quote - I can't imagine if I have to work this hard to get a quote what actual service and install would be like. Not sure what all the hype is about this company - I chose them b/c of their great reviews on this site - complete FAIL!!

They did a great job. They did it in one day, neat and clean. They did a lot of drilling in the basement to take the air out and route it up to the the top of the house and it was very well done and it was treated neat. They followed up after we were done to check on us. We were very pleased.

I was very pleased with the process. Tuan provided details of the work to be performed. He explained there would be an additonal charge and the amount if a second hole would be needed in the basement. It wasn't and the original agreed upon price was the total charge.
Description of Work: I needed to have a Radon Mitigation System installed in my ranch home. I had three estimates from Radon Companies. I choose ARS because of his professionalism, explanation of details, competeive pricing, and number of years in the business. He also had the best reviews on Angie's List. They installed a Radon Mitigation System in my full size block basement. All contact was professional, timely, and estimate was in detail. He also responded to questions via email. The day of installation he and another worker arrived promptly, reviewed the process with me, asked any questions he had, and went to work. They were in and out in about 3 hours. No mess, no fuss, just efficient work. Prior to mitigation system my radon level was 33.4. After mitigation my radon level is 0.3.

My recollection is that the 2 technicians who did the installation were on site for approx 4-5 hours and it was clear from the start that they were experienced and committed to doing the job right the first time. The work they did was not only exceptionally effective- reducing the radon level to less than 10% of the recommended maximum level- but it was also very neat, prompt, and professional in every respect. We were very pleased with every aspect of the work they did, most importantly in reducing the radon level in our basement to between 0.1 to 0.4 pCi/L - the results from post tests that we did a week or so after the mitigation system was installed- using radon test canisters from two independent labs.
Description of Work: The contractor installed a radon mitigation system in our basement and in an adjacent crawl space. Before contracting with them, we did two short term canister tests that identified radon levels of approx 51pCi/L of air. I briefly considered installing a mitigation system myself but I am delighted that we had a professional do it because the layout they recommended and used was much simpler and much better than the arrangement that I had envisioned. In addition to installing the required exhaust fan and 4" PVC pipe, they carefully sealed a narrow seam between the edge of the concrete floor and the bottom of the cinder block walls around our entire basement. They also custom built a trap in our sump well to allow the drainage system to continue to drain water but without allowing radon gas to seep into the air. And they installed a new heavy weight vinyl vapor barrier in the adjacent crawl space, sealed it to the surrounding block wall, and connected PVC pipe beneath the vinyl barrier to the exhaust fan from the basement. Finally, they added a water pressure gauge in the basement to monitor the vacuum in the PVC pipe to ensure that it continues to function effectively.
