The company installed a radon mitigation system in my house, reducing the level from 300 to .4. They obviously did superb work, and did it promptly at reasonable cost (much lower than the statewide company I got a quote from). Then afterward they provided outstanding customer service by promptly responding to my request to replace the original powerful fan with a quieter fan. Tuan obviously cared about my satisfaction as a customer. My experience is that this company is extremely competent, professional and trustworthy, and I give them my highest recommendation.

Low Bid. Good communicator, quick response, knowledgeable, conscientious, pleasant, energetic, good workmanship (e.g. wiring clamps, etc). I was a bit nervous because he bid sight unseen, based on my description of the existing system. But, that saved an 80 mile trip that did not have to be added to the cost. However his contract was very professional with guarantees, and he had good Angie's reviews, so I went with him. (He even sent specs on the fan he would use). He did extras at a very reasonable price (dig out of my Builder's improperly installed basement pipe, caulking around sump, and re-leveling attic piping for proper downward pitch. He alerted me to leakage in my attic around the previously installed boot (I'll take care of that later). Result was that radon level was reduced from 11.0 to 0.6 (4.0 is max safe level). Note: price includes $50.00 Pa Radon tax.

Very professional & highly experienced! Recognized that the original installation did not include couplings, which would drastically reduce the sound. So we had those installed and what a difference! They also recognized that the original installation was probably done by a former homeowner because it was not up to their standards. It works fine, but ARS takes greater pride in their work. Another reason I went with them is because they got back to me immediately via text or email with a price range depending on the model being replaced. I hate talking on the phone, so this was a very convenient time saver. If you are wondering whether you should use them, stop worrying. With almost 30 years experience and being highly educated in the field, you are in great hands!!

Everything was great. He was very flexible to get us in on short notice before settlement date. Was very professional and neat, system was done on time and better than expected.

We contacted ARS to have our home fixed after measuring radon levels at 4.7 pCi/L. Our situation was apparently a difficult one as the initial remediation was only partially successful in reducing radon levels. We continued to perform testing and the levels actually increased to well over 10 pCi/L. Tuan stayed in touch with us to check on the fluctuating radon levels and also made several trips back to our home to identify where the radon was entering and try to figure out the best way to lower our levels. We greatly appreciate him working with us through the initial installation, ongoing radon level monitoring and to the ultimate solution. In the end, our home required sealing of an inside basement wall that faced an above-ground addition as well as a separate ventilation fan to be installed in the crawlspace underneath the addition. Thank you for giving us peace of mind and the feeling of safety in our home.

Went wonderfully. The installation was done professionally and in a timely manner.

Because of the large basement and also a crawl space Twan had to return several times to seal these areas. He was always pleasant and reliable until the job was well done.

Left a voicemail and they returned call within minutes. Showed up on time. Examined existing passive system and determined builder had place pipe exiting roof too close to wall so they could not install the fan at that location. They put a new hole in the roof, used existing horizontal PVC pipe and new vertical pipe. They installed gauge in basement to monitor the suction through the pipe. They also found that pipe in basement that leads below slab was buried in gravel so they had to dig it out. They did this by cutting the existing pipe and digging out gravel by hand using the existing hole. They did not dig a new hole. They also placed a trap on the pipe in the sump pump pit that water runs through. They left a pre-paid testing kit. The gentlemen was very professional and used time efficiently.

PERFECT !! We call on a Thursday and our system was installed the following Monday. Prior to having the system installed our radon level was 14.5 pCi/L. After the system was installed, our level dropped to 1.1 pCi/L. We were very happy. They displayed, professionalism, expertise and the job scene was left very neat and tidy. Thank you !!! American Radon Solutions were on time, professional and right on their quote for the work. Our radon level was high over 20 pCi/L and 2 days after installation radon concentration was tested by an independent firm at only 1.5 pCi/L - which is amazing! The area worked in was cleaned up, installation was sturdy and looked great - even from the street. I would highly recommend them!

Tuan did a great job for a reasonable price. All the work was professionally done, and our radon reading went from 33 to .6 in 2 days.

I initially called on a Saturday morning to inquire regarding radon mitigation services. Tuan actually offered to visit that very same Saturday afternoon to evaluate our needs. He sent us a contract within a few days and, once signed, scheduled the job on a mutually agreed date just a few days later. He told us he would be present by 9 am but found that morning that he would be slightly delayed. He called ahead of time to notify us of this and arrived within a half hour of the originally scheduled time anyway. The work was performed quickly and very professionally. It looks terrific and one would have to look very hard at the home to see any evidence of the system being installed.

Best of all, the system does what it's supposed to do..it works!!! We had pre-mitigation numbers in the 20's and 30's. After the system was installed, the numbers are down in the 1.4 to 1.7 range (well below the desired 4.0 limit). I actually tested with several companies pre and post mitigation (Tuan actually gave us a kit to use post mitigation) and all tests showed reduced values as noted. 

We could not be happier with the interaction with Tuan and job he did. Everything was done in a very timely and professional manner and, as I mentioned before, IT WORKS!! We are thrilled with the service and would undoubtedly use Tuan and his company again should the need arise.

American Radon Solutions came out to perform the work within 2 days of my call as I was very anxious to have this work done.    He was was prompt, courteous and cleaned up after himself.    Will definitely call this company again in the future.

PLEASE DO NOT USE THEM!  No customer service! 

We called and scheduled an appointment to have someone service our radon mitigation system. It was working but it was incredibly loud and would shut off and on. When we called they told us to shut it off.

They came on time and looked at our system.  He informed us that we needed a high powered fan and he would have to order it. 

We waited.  Two weeks later, we called them to get the status of the ordered part. They completely forgot about it!  They ordered the part and scheduled an appointment for that same week.  The day of the appointment American Radon called to reschedule to the next day.  So we had to wait again despite the fact they forgot to order the part!

Finally almost 3 weeks later, they come back to install the fan.  After installing the fan, he informs me that we didn't need the high powered fan and that a standard one would of been fine.  Instead of making things correct by installing a standard fan. He blamed us stating that we told his technician that we wanted the high powered fan!  I was so appalled at his lack of customer service.  We called his company since they are the "experts" and he blames us?!  We didn't know what type of fan to get and relied on his company to properly address this. He refused to remove it and install the standard one. Instead he proceeded to tell me how my electric bill is going to go up because of it and how it was our fault!  He suggested calling his company again when we need a new fan! 

PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!  This is probably the worst experience I had using a company on Angie's list.

Pre-installation radon level: 10.0

Post-installation radon level: 2.8-3.8 (It's a range because I bought a radon gas detector that continuously monitor for radon on Amazon).

Very happy with the result.  Now my little boys can play in their basement playroom without being exposed to radon, a leading cause of lung cancer in non-smoking population.



It was estimated at $880, but the final bill came to $800.  I was happily surprised and I asked how come it's cheaper and they explained they didn't need to do and use one of the parts that was originally estimated.  Super please with their honesty; they could have still bill me $880 and I wouldn't have known any difference.  An honest contractor is hard to find these days.

Great experience from start to finish.  I set up an appointment in early September to get an estimate, Tuan showed up at the scheduled time and explained clearly the most likely issue causing high radon levels and what they would do to fix it.  We set up another appointment for them to come back for the repairs.  The employee showed up as scheduled and got right to work.  He cut out a section of the mitigation pipe, dug out the blockage that was between the pipe and the water proofing trench, and replaced the pipe.  He then sealed the sump pit cover as well as several feet of wall where the water proofing system was not correctly finished.  Our radon level prior to repair was 5.9pCi/L.  The EPA guideline is for the level to be no more than 4.0pCi/L.  After repairs, our level was 0.8pCi/L, well below the EPA guideline.  We are extremely pleased with the service American Radon Solutions provided and highly recommend them.

Installation was scheduled soon after initial contact and was completed in a timely and professional manner. All our questions were courteously answered and instructions were given for the post installation testing. And, as hoped, the test results demonstrated that the mitigation work had lowered radon levels in our home to well below acceptable levels. We would highly recommend American radion solutions to anyone needing this type of service.

I had an excellent experience using ARS. They first came in August, but there work had to be delayed due to a water problem underneath the floating slab. Once that was corrected by a different contractor they quickly rescheduled and completed the work in one day and under budget. Very professional and courteous. The best part is that my Radon level dropped from 13 to 0.9! I would highly recommend using ARS.
