Carranza Roofing and Siding

I contacted Carranza and scheduled a free estimate for 6/3 @ 1:00pm. On the morning of 6/3 the gentleman contacted me and said he was in the area and would I mind if he came early. I was thriIled and said of course. I allowed this gentleman into my home to inspect the interior where we were having water damage and the exterior roof and surrounding areas. He took pictures and explained to me what the issue was, he was very thorough in his inspection. He said he'd submit the pictures to his boss (I'm assuming Mr. Carranza) and an estimate would be emailed to me. Although this gentleman did not provide a timeframe as to when I'd receive the estimate I expected it would only take a day or two. 3 business days later on 6/6, I still hadn't received the estimate and called Carranza. I spoke with a younger female who informed me that the estimate was "sitting on his desk, along with a few others and would be emailed to me shortly". Again I waited! On 6/7 I called again and again spoke to a different female (Melissa I think?) who apologized on Mr. Carranza's behalf and said he was in a meeting but that she'd have him get back to me before the end of the day. I asked if it is normal to take this long to receive an estimate and she said no and wasn't sure what the issue was but mentioned that there were a few others on his desk that needed to be sent. Again I waited!!! On 6/8 I called again and spoke with Melissa? who AGAIN apologized and gave an excuse this time that Mr. Carranza was just walking into the building and she was going to speak to him immediately and that she would call me back herself this time. I asked that the estimate be emailed to me as they initally explained that was the procedure and she agreed. It is 6/13 and I have yet to receive this estimate! As an Angies list member I'm appalled by the lack of professionalism this company has shown. I work in the real estate industry and pride myself on building a business based on respect, trust and loyalty. Referral & Reputation are the name of the game and as a family run business that Carranza claims to be one would assume that they would pride themselves on these same principles. Rather this is one highly dysfuncational family and it appears that they pride themselves on giving prospective customers like myself the run around. No job is to small, and my only assumption is that's what they thought and if I'm right then at least have enough respect and deceny to tell me! I'm truly offended!! I've never written a negative review for anyone on Angie's List before but felt this needed to be expressed for those other members who are in need of roofing repair as was I.

I little mix-up on start dates and some other very minor issues but the work was fast, professional, and cost efficient. I would highly recommend this company since they went out of their way to tackle a job others would not do.

The service man was on time, professional and polite. He fixed the gutter in no time and even discounted the standard service-charge fee without me asking. We?ve had many heavy rain falls since and not one drop of water has seeped through. I?ve used Carranza for shingle replacement after strong wind storms and both times, they were great. I highly recommend them and I would certainly use their services in the future.

They are excellent. I was completely satisfied with the end results of their work. The employees were all very nice and courteous. The issues I had was answered by the owner. The service that I got from the office workers to the roof workers themselves and all the service that I got. I would use them again.

Their estimate was on the higher end but the estimation process was for free. We were looking for what to do with the roof and then they left us materials for us to look at as far as shingle colors, frames and everything. They called to see if we had any issues with the pricing and it was just high for what we were looking for with our project. I would probably not use them in the future because their pricing was high.

My experience as good, eventually. They made everything right.

We were having water issues in our kitchen ceiling. We had Carranza come out to take a look at what the issue was. Eleizer came out to do an estimate and was fantastic to work with. I wish every contractor was as easy to work with as he was. He walked me through everything he was looking at and was very thorough and answered all my questions. Work was done when they promised once I was able to schedule. The only slightly frustrating part was trying to get the work scheduled. I was told I would be given a call within the next week to get my work scheduled but did not hear from anyone from almost two weeks and not sure when I would have if I didn't call first. Once I called and initiated the scheduling the work was scheduled the next day and they did a fantastic job.

The provider called the prior day to confirm appointment. The workman showed up on time. He provided an analysis of the condition of the siding, provided a detailed description of the nature of the repair, and he quickly repaired the loose siding,

Carranza never called back, even though they said they'd give the estimate within 2 or 3 days.

Professional response.problem fixed right the first time. Very thorough and courteous. Would definitely use again!

The estimator was prompt, professional, and answered all of our questions. When we decided to use Carranza from three bidders, we called and made an appointment to meet their project manager to scope out the job. Then after about a month for materials to arrive, Carranza called to schedule installation. On installation day a crew of six arrived on time, set up and began working. They finished mid-afternoon, did an excellent clean-up, and departed. Overall, the whole process was quite manageable.

They were really great to work with. They were on time and were very reasonable priced. They were able to do the repair without replacing the entire roof for us. They were the nicest guys to work with and I couldn't say enough nice things about them.

Ron the Sales representative was smart, kind and knowledgeable. He made the process seem less complicated and I felt at ease. I am very particular and set up 7 estimates and ended up canceling most of my estimates and went with caranzza roofing because I knew the job was going to be done right. They came out and measured my house and shed on time as scheduled. Next they set up and installation date and the roofers arrived on time as scheduled. They did an excellent job, answered all my questions, picked up every nail, and cleaned up all debris. I couldn't have asked for a better job. Thanks, again...

Scheduling was easy and Elezier came at the time promised. After assessing the situation, Elezier brought pictures of the spots that needed repair and an explanation of the roof's condition - not very good since it was the original roof on a 28 year old house. He asked permission to fix them. He did NOT try to sell a new roof or get into any horror stories about the consequences of not replacing the roof. I really respect the fact that he laid out the facts and let me deal with it. After thinking about it, I asked him to provide an estimate of a new roof to give us an opportunity to budget for it next year ('14). After he fixed the leaks and installed the vent, he gave a small presentation about the materials and technique they use to apply a roof - I will tell you that it is a different process compared to 30 years ago (no more tar paper). The price they provided was much less than we expected and seemed fair considering the work to be done (seal up a powered attic fan opening in the roof and install a ridge vent), the materials to be used, and the guarantee: my wife and I decided to schedule the work right away. They obtained the permit and our work was scheduled about 4 weeks later. They came out on time with a crew of six. The supervisor, Jose, was very pleasant and approachable. The crew worked like a well-oiled machine. They were cleaning up as fast as they were making a mess. They finished about 4 hours later and the job looked great. I also had a phone conversation with the owner during which I was impressed with his professionalism. Great experience. I would recommend them to anyone.

I have put a deposit with them and we are working on the date for them to get started. They are very good. They were on time. The quote and explanation of their job, and what they were going to do was very good and very thorough. They presented the job I was looking to have done. The people were very professional. They were very easy to deal with, and I knew what they were talking about which made it very easy.

The company did a great job an finished our pretty large roof within one day (7 people on the job). They used nice material, cleaned up everything and were friendly and nice. There was one little hickup right before the start of the job because the date was switched last minute by one day and changed for a two day job to a one day job, but it worked out in the end. The not optimal communciation between sales, material order, installation, company owner and final repair was a bit annoying, but did not impact the job in the end (skylight originally not orderd, but arrived in time, blind for the skylight nor orderd, but installed a few days later, details of repair work not communicated to repair guy). The roof is very nice, the color of the tiles fits nicely to the front of our house, so we are happy and would recommend Carranza to our friends (did this already).

I made a deposit of $404 on 09/09/13 and it took several weeks for the team to arrive to do the work. I had a little bit of a problem in reaching the owner, getting my messages returned, and getting the work started. However, once the team arrived at my home on 10/08/13, they were off and running. I was only having a shed roof replaced, as opposed to a whole house roof, but I was impressed with their speed. Before they left, I did have to call them back and ask them to touch up one area on the front. It was done without complaint and done quickly. I am satisfied with the work and I would call Carranza again and have no reservations about recommending them to others in the area.

Overall it went well and I'm happy with the results. However, I decided to use this company based on the salesperson's presentation and promise they would 'tarp' my house to catch all roofing materials, nails, etc, rather than have them in my yard and flower beds. That did not happen. While they did a good job of 'sweeping' the lawn and covering my flower beds, I was still picking up nails in my flower beds for weeks. They also told me my job would be done in one day, but had to come back the second day to finish it. Not exactly a huge problem, but just not what they told me. The final point is that the roof looks good and I haven't had any leak problems since it was replaced, so I'm happy.

After an initial miscommunication on the first visit, it took a little bit of phone tag to get a follow up visit and the issue was addressed correctly. I recognize it was a busy time of year for them. I feel like they are committed to providing good customer service and follow up on any issues that come up. I revised my initial poor review to reflect the final result.

Ron of Carrazza came to my house the day after I requested a quote. He was knowledgeable and took the time to explain every aspect of the job. Based on his presentation, I signed a contract. Performance is 3 to 4 weeks in the future. Since that has not happened yet, all ratings are for the quoting process

Roofer showed up right on time. Quickly diagnosed the problem, took pictures so I could see exactly what was wrong, and showed me how he would recommend repairing it. The charge was $165 for slightly over an hour's work, which I thought was very reasonable. I wish I had used this company for the previous work and would definitely recommend them.
