I contacted the online company Angi to find a technician to service an oil furnace that was not working in a second a home I own. This property is not commercial or being rented. Angi gave our contact info to Village Heating and Cooling LLC. Village came out on Friday 10/25/24. I was contacted by Village (Mike), they would be there at 11:00. They were about 6.5 hours late. After inspection of furnace, he said it was non-serviceable. He recommended installing a new ductless system. Said if he installs a new system, we will not be charged for the service call. Over the next two months, we conversed mainly thru text messages about numerous set ups to meet our climate needs. It took a while as this system can be up to 4 times more costly. I told him I wanted the old tanks removed along with the boiler. Mike agreed. We agreed to leave the piping for radiators in place. Mike also said he would clean up wiring in the basement and first floor that was to include updating any knob and tube wiring in the basement and all electrical receptacles on the first floor, and would also move already in-place air conditioning system in the master bedroom. We agreed, via text messages, to a 75 percent down payment on 12/17/24. Within 3 hours Village sent a worker to my primary residence to pick up a personal check for 15,000 dollars for down payment. I was still at work and was never able to sign an updated version of any type of contract. They said work would start on 12/19 thru 12/21/24. Check was cashed the next morning 12/18/24. No work was done those days. We only have an invoice saying we gave a deposit of $15,000. A formal contract was never presented, discussed, nor signed by any party involved. We agreed to resume work after holidays. He suggested 1/13 thru 1/16. No work done 01/13 or 01/14. Village said they could come out that Friday and Saturday. 2 hours work done on 01/15. Village dropped of some materials, carried them upstairs and left. On 1/16, a worker showed up for 2 hours, but no work done because tools did not work. No one came out on 1/17 and 1/18. Village said they could come out the week of 1/20 thru 1/23. Weather forecast had 0 degree temps, I suggested the following week with temps in 40s. Village said thank you and schedules for 1/28 thru 1/31. First day, Village was there for 1 hour to fix a pipe that broke because it froze. Second day, no work. Village showed up at 12:45 on third day for 2 hours. No one came out on the fourth day. They suggest Saturday along with Monday and Tuesday, all 3 days no work is done. During 16 days Village said they would come out to work, they only showed up 4 times with less than 7 hours total worked. Two of those hours nothing was completed because tools (pump) did not work. One hour on 1/28 was to fix a pipe that froze because of no heat. Currently, Village is demanding the balance be paid in full before they will continue work. I contacted Angi's Resolution Department on 3/3/25 to complain about the lack of work being completed and about our 75 percent down payment agreement not being honored. A formal complaint was filed. Village agreed to the 75 percent, but tried to trick Angi's Resolution Department by saying 75 percent of the remaining balance. That is equal to 97 percent of the total invoice. I made Angi's Resolution Department aware of this.

It when we’ll until the job was complete and he left than about 30 minutes after he left I went to check to see was the pipes getting hot and noticed that they wasn’t locked at the water temperature had dropped from 180 to 69 contacted the company and right from the good he accused me of during something to the boiler
Response from Village Heating and Cooling LLC
"Anytime you see 1 star it can be assumed that’s a clear scam. We don’t have anyone report to Angie’s currently and we do not accept Angie’s customers without screening of our own. This platform is being abused by people with nefarious intentions. This review reflects that base."
