Ratner & Associates LLC

This was the first time we had used Ratner so our experience included the initial meeting and overview-I'm assuming that, should we choose to use them again next year it will require less work on our part. We met with Jordan Jones on April 2 to go over our tax info and our draft returns were returned by mail a week later. One return was fairly straightforward and one had some complicated job changes and IRA/401(K) details. There were a couple of minor, obvious errors in the initial return, but we were able to work through it and submit the returns on time. In general, it was a fairly painless process: about an hour for the initial meeting and whatever other time we spent reviewing and returning the completed documents. 

All pertinent information was requested and collected. Spent time going over final product. Laid things out for year to come. All forms professionally completed.

We really liked Jordan.  He was friendly and very helpful.  His eye for detail ended up saving us a huge amount of money.  The bill was a little higher than we'd expected, but we decided the peace of mind had been well worth it.

I contacted Stephen Ratner to seek help in getting our taxes done. I wanted a professional opinion after owing a sizable tax bill last year. Stephen looked over our previous return, asked some questions and  told us how to prevent this from happening again. He is a friendly, interesting guy with years of financial experience and wisdom. He spent a good amount of time with us and charged nothing for the visit. I highly recommend him!

We received a letter of revised tax request from the IRS.  I do my own taxes normally and wanted to do the same here so I realized about 2 weeks in that I should just have someone work out the details for me.  I called them one day based on Angies list, and made an appointment for the next day.  They met with me for an hour, gave me a price, took my paperwork and got to work.  A few questions later, I was good to go.  They were reliable, quick and accurate as far as I could tell.  I plan on using them for our family taxes from here on out.  Really pleased!

I found Ratner Lynn through Angie's List. My experience with them was excellent from the first phone call. I was quickly transferred to an accountant, Rob Gottschalk, who answered my questions and made me feel very comfortable with proceeding to the next step. This was my first time using an accountant to do my taxes. I've always done my own until this year, but recently transitioned from being an employee to self-employed and I needed assistance. Rob always answers any and all questions I have (and I have a lot) incredibly quickly via email or phone (whichever I prefer). I HIGHLY recommend him/them to anyone looking for an accountant.

Over all experience was great.  John worked over the weekend and was very efficient at communicating over email.  He sent me my returns with a few days to spare for final reviews and I was able to make the tax deadline without having to file for an extension.

It went great.  They gave a very quick response.  There was a quick turnaround.  We felt that they got us the best return possible.  They filed everything electronically.  We would highly recommend their business.

I called Ratner, Lynn and Company with a question about inheritance taxes in Pennsylvania. Though I hadn't previously used their services, I received a courteous answer from the accountant, who was willing to describe the rules that applied and to explain the tax procedure involved in my particular situation. I was very happy with the help he provided and expect to hire this company in the future.

Alleviation from the headaches from the wonderful Philly Tax Folks as well as the aggregate refund amount were well worth the service cost. And if you go to their office on Fridays, you get to meet Henry--a beautiful, happy, wonderful four-legged canine!!! 

Rob is very knowledgeable and professional. He gave us great guidance and effectively communicated with us. We met with him in person the first time and then communicated via telephone, email, and mail.

I dealt with Rob Gottschalk, Jr. What a nice young man! I came prepared, with most of my paperwork in order. Along with a big scare from the IRS telling me my husband and I owed $13,000 in back taxes, plus penalties and interest. This turned out to not be the case as I had simply rolled over some mutual funds where I had lost money. Rob got me some money back from that year. Rob had initially figured our taxes using joint returns for both Federal and State taxes due. However, my husband insists that we maintain our residence in Kentucky (we are contractors) which has no reciprocity with PA. I was very disappointed initially when Rob told me our return would be virtually equal to the one from 2006. He then told me to give him some time and went back and separated both our Fed and State returns (Married filing Individual) and we received a much greater refund that way. One of the very few instances he has come across that worked out better. And, he didn't charge us for the extra time it took him to do this. I would highly recommend this firm to anyone. I will be leaving the Pennsylvania area next month, but Rob will continue to serve as my tax accountant.

I was pleased with the service. I was able to schedule an intake appointment on a Saturday and my return was prepared on Monday morning. My questions were answered and the tax return was prepared and filed promptly.

I met with Rob Gottschalk to file my 2006 taxes. Rob was extremely professional, and has a great personality. He truly loves his job and it shows! I am completely clueless when it comes to taxes, but Rob made everything a breeze. Not only that, but he got me the biggest tax return I've ever received. He knew about deductions that I never even heard of. In addition to being extremely proficient, he was very quick! Plus, whenever I had a question, it was very easy to get in touch with him any time of day or night. I will never use another CPA again!!!
