The sales associate at our Ashley store was quite knowledgable, helpful, and efficient. He has a good sense of humor, too. That always helps. The quality of all that we bought is excellent. The price was fair. However, we received a "25% off everything in the store!" sale notice five days after the furniture arrived. That hurt. We should have waited. The only "B" above in my ratings is because it took a whole month to get all our furnishings from the day of purchase. Initially, one piece was delayed, then additional pieces were delayed. But everything arrived together and was lovingly moved in by two very nice (and strong) young men. Our satisfaction was their main concern. We appreciated that. Overall, we'll return to Ashley when our next need arises. We'll also make sure to ask if there are any upcoming sales before we buy!

I had an awful experience with Ashley Home Store in Altoona. Clearly nobody bothered to check the finish before it left the factory or the store. We opened the box in the house and noticed missing and dripped stain. The store referred me to the New York corporate office for that franchise which offered me 50 bucks to keep it. When I declined they offered 100 bucks. When I said I wanted a new table they said that if the table is damaged in transport back to them that I could not return the table and get a new one. This puts all the risk on us when we did not cause the problem. If I wanted to return the table for a refund I would have to pay 12% of the cost of the table for freight back to the factory. This is a ridiculous policy. If they do not ship out defective goods they do not have to worry about the cost of return freight. I was later told the table would likely be sold in a clearance sale at the store. If so why are we paying freight back to the factory. The manager of the store is named John but he has absolutely no power . I tried to go up the food chain at the corporate level but was denied access. Apparently everyone who answers the phone there is a manager and answers to nobody. We found out that the stores are separate companies from the manufacturer which is not what they say on their commercials. "Made by us, sold by us" is misleading at best. We purchased an extra warranty in case the dogs damaged the table. We asked that we at least have the table fixed using the warranty but were told that the warranty only covers damage caused by us and not manufacturers defects. My advice is to avoid Ashley at all times.
