He sent a sales rep, the owner did not come. We were looking at several different companies. We had gone to the home show to see what they had at the home show looked like. He told us that he did not use subcontractors that he had his own employees do the work. We found out as they were installing it that they lied about that. The two guys that were putting it up fought with each other constantly and they were subcontracted by him. They didn't pitch it right for the gutters in the back so we always have a bunch of water in our yard. It doesn't even go down the gutter into the downspout. The worst part is that the past 3 years the roof has leaked. We called him and he said he doesn't do that work anymore and I said can you tell us who we can get to repair it or fix it because we cant have the sunroom continue to leak, it is ruining the floor. Sometimes it rains in the middle of the night and we have to put buckets out. If we don't do that then anything we have is rained on and ruined. He is telling my 64 year old husband to go up on the roof himself and dig out all the caulk in the cracks in the seams and recaulk it. I said don't you have anybody at all that can fix this, the answer was no. It was never installed properly to begin with. I don't want anybody else to have this experience with them. I would never hire this man to do anything because he is a lying jerk. When you spend that kind of money you don't think that is only going to last 2 or 3 years before you have major issues.
Installation day one- installers didn’t get the faucet nor flooring in their ‘package’. They wanted to install flooring first. Went out to pick up the flooring from the place we had selected it six weeks earlier (they told us where to go). Were also going to buy faucet at Lowes. Didn’t get flooring, it was special order, no one had ordered it. Came back with faucet, was not what we had selected. No work done that day. Contacted owner to ask about the corner shelves (we changed the shelves we wanted during the final measurements six weeks earlier). He “oops, I didn’t order the shelves you wanted, I had even written it down”.
Installation day two (1 week later), after flooring people installed the flooring. Came about 9:00. Ripped down old ceramic fixtures, installed tub and faucet. Started to install tub walls, did not have the corner pieces for them, they were still at shop. Quit at 1:00, said it would take an hour to pick up the parts.
Installation day three. Tub walls and wainscoting installed. 2:00 they seemed to be rushing to clean up when I asked about installing the two towel bars I was told to purchase on my own to replace the two they took down. They said it was not on their work order. Had to contact the owner who told them to mount the bars. Finished by 3:00.
Detail issues: 1) Did not protect sinks during work, sinks had caulk and a purple stain in it and some minor scratches. 2) No caulk was put around the tub spout so there is a drip into the wall behind the faucet when the shower is used. A funny thing, they left me 5 tubes of extra caulk, were they expecting me to finish the job? 3) Did not caulk around base of toilet after they reinstalled it. 4) No caulk used to finish the gap where the wainscoting meets the floor (is this too much to expect?). They did caulk between tub and floor. 5) Five days later owner has not called to follow up whether there are any problems or whether I am satisfied with work.
