They replaced my entire kitchen after water damage. We are beyond happy with the results . Any problems were taken care of promptly. KIM the supervisor, ERIC and RICHARD work together as a team and make things flow smoothly. They are all extremely talented. Also thanks to Tobey, Trevor and Sean who were there for the original cleanup/demo. We highly recommend them.

Getting the estimators and adjusters out in February, after the snow melted, was fairly prompt. Then, delays, excuses, failure to return calls, and failure to do what they said they would do soon dragged this job on from days to weeks to months. When the wrecked porch had been removed, siding replaced on rear wall of home, and deck flooring was complete, all further work ceased. I was finally able to determine that the new porch had never been ordered! Once Mellon got in contact with the porch subcontractor, he said he had been too busy, and that the porch would take another 8 weeks. I fired the whole group that day and the insurance company paid them only for the work done. I had to research the area for a new subcontractor to get the porch ordered. I will never, ever, hire Mellon to do anything again, nor will I hire a contractor without having a date-of-completion in the contract, along with penalty clauses if dates are not reasonably met. It is going on 9 months since the porch collapsed, and all we have is a bare deck without a screen porch.
Description of Work: Mellon was hired to remove the wreckage and replace our collapsed screen porch in its entirety.

Description of Work: They did a great job cleaning the house. Repainting was done, without any additional prep to the walls or patching...that was disappointing and not discussed prior to painting. | |I felt their communication was not adequate regarding their schedule, my schedule and the plans to complete the work. It took them over six months to complete the job of a 750 sq ft house. | |Their services were recommended by my insurance company.

Following SuperStorm Sandy, I noticed shingles littering my yard. I was able to see that my roof had several areas where my shingles had blown off. I phoned my insurance agent, and literally within the day, Mellon Certified Restoration called me to ask if I would be able to meet with someone at my home to look at the damage. I met with their estimator and he explained that he was going to verify the damage and submit the estimate to repair to my insurance company. He went up on the roof and came back down to discuss the damage with me. He had arranged to have a crew come to perform temporary repairs to patch and "ice-shield" my roof. The crew came by within two hours, and were pleasant and efficient. The repairs were completed and I found the bill to be reasonable. Now that's great customer service!!!

Water damage from a broken water pipe in the basement, but did not contact insurance company due to lack of awareness of the unseen damage. Damage occured in July 2010, insurance company informed and initial estimate given after several weeks. Insurance company recommended Mellon. Mellon assessed and developed a plan of action. Initially there was a delay in the work due to an emergency at another job which placed them 2 weeks behind. Several subcontractors worked under the direction of Mellon. Generally, the workers were professional and knowledgable. The work had a few flaws which were not initially acknowledged after being reported. Contract changed after water accessed the basement during a storm within the same area where the work was performed. Mellon denied any responsibility for water access and refused to view area. On social security and was paying on a payment plan for $500.00. Mellon agreed to discharge the remaining $200.00 in leu of not being responsible for any additional mold found in basement. Service agreement to be honored for 1 year after work. Update: Contacted Mellon about several holes opening underneath carpeting on stairs. Agreed to come out and assess. Contact person took pictures of problems and agreed to contact with a plan. Currently awaiting correction of problem.
