I echo the previous reviewer's praise for Terri, who was also our saleswoman. She's exceptionally professional and diligent, and it was a pleasure to work with her through all stages of the buying and delivery process. We purchased from Thomasville for three primary reasons: 1) they had an extraordinary showroom with lots of inventory -- which is becoming more rare in this age of online purchasing; 2) the quality of the furniture we chose; and 3) Terri's professionalism. Nor was she the only exemplary employee, as other people -- especially the warehouse manager -- provided extraordinary customer service. So why the "B" rating? Simple: it has nothing to do with the local employees (who were uniformly excellent) but rather with the lengthy delivery time. It took nearly two months for us to receive all of the items we purchased. Terri informed us of this time-frame when we made the purchase, so I can't claim we weren't aware, but I suspect the reason for this delay is, pure and simple, corporate policy. Everyone we worked with locally was excellent and exhibited the highest level of professionalism. I suspect our furniture was ready to be trucked to Portland earlier than week 8 and that corporate policy holds that no truck leaves North Carolina until sufficient orders have been placed to make that trucking run profitable. That's good economic policy, of course, but nonetheless, as a consumer who LOVES this furniture now, well, I would have loved it even more had it been delivered in 4 weeks rather than 8. So that's the ONLY reason the grade is a "B" -- corporate policy. If I'm mistaken, then the error is mine. BUT Terri and everyone else we worked for were simply amazing, and we will definitely shop at Thomasville again. I think it's important to support (when possible) stores such as Thomasville that invest heavily in their inventory. For something like bedroom furniture, it's important to touch and feel the product rather than simply look at something in a catalog or online. And that's a corporate policy that I DO endorse. Long story short, my wife and I are overjoyed with the start as well as the end-result of this purchase; Thomasville corporate, I hope, recognizes my lament about the middle-period of this purchase and brainstorms accordingly. If you visit their showroom, ask for Terri!

Our salesperson was Terri and she was great. Many other stores had the typical pushy, over the top salespeople. This usually scares us away. But Terri was very professional, not pushy at all and yet still very informative and helpful. She spent a lot of time with us and helped us make the right decision.
Description of Work: We purchased new bedroom furniture from the Thomasville store. We have not received the items yet. We will update this review after delivery. We shopped around a lot and this store had the best variety in bedroom sets for the best price.

In June 2012 we order two travertine tables (a cocktail and end table) at a Thomasville furniture store in Tigard, OR. When I picked up the tables at the warehouse in Wilsonville, there were no furniture tags or documentation on caring for the tables. Since the tables were about $700, we thought it was strange that no care instructions accompanied the tables. One month later we noticed a water ring mark on the travertine table from a glass containing a cold drink. We went to the store to ask about care instructions and how to remove the water ring mark. It was obvious from the saleswoman’s response that she really had no meaningful knowledge about caring for travertine tables; however, she offered a couple of ideas including putting a sealer on the travertine. A warehouse employee was in the store and told us that he would take care of it and send a person out to our home the following day to take care of the problem. He did state that he was not supposed to do this but would do it anyway. No one came to our home, nor did we ever hear from Thomasville. We will not make another purchase from Thomasville due to their incredibly poor customer service. Customer service and quality furniture are the reasons we shop at higher end furniture stores – we obviously made a mistake thinking Thomasville provided both.
Description of Work: Purchase two travertine tables - one cocktail and one end table. No care instructions came with tables and when water rings appeared Thomasville was NOT helpful.

They delivered the sectional and the pieces wouldn't fit through my door. I needed about 2 more inches. The delivery man was very nice and suggested I get a carpenter to take off the door jamb so the furniture would fit. He called the store mgr. to see if they could take it back to the warehouse and hold it for me until I could find a carpenter and schedule the work to be done. They refused and dumped the furniture in my garage. I was only asking them to hold it. It was paid in full. I was even willing to pay a re-stocking fee and re-delivery fee. I understood this was my problem, but I was shocked that they wouldn't work with me on this. I thought it was very unprofessional of them. They were not interested in keeping me as long term customer. They just wanted their sale.
Description of Work: Bought a sectional from Thomasville back in September and paid for it in full.
