Ivan Bobkov and his highly skilled, professional crew did outstanding work with our house. The experience from original estimate to reinstalling the light fixtures was was excellent. From the original estimate to the finishing touches everything went well. It was a midwinter project so the weather dictated the schedule. Ivan coordinated everything, always called to keep us up on the progress, and showed up daily onsite. The crews (for both the siding and painting) were very professional and competent. I would hire these guys again in a heartbeat.

Lada Enterprises had to reframe an entire window that was in our living room. It had been originally installed incorrectly and they were able to repair that for us. The quality of the work was fabulous. The workers were very punctual and they were very respectful. They did a very good clean up job and they worked very well around my children and pets. The owner was also able to find the custom siding that we needed even after he offered to make it himself. They were very responsive and they were willing to work with the financial aspect of the project. They were also willing to fix any interior walls that had been damaged or altered during the installation.

Initially the dry rot repair, window install, and residing were scheduled to begin December 12th, but Portland was hit with what has been labeled the 40 year snow storm . Ivan, Lada s owner and manager, called and immediately re-scheduled for an after-the-holidays start date. While I was sure the work would be put off again and again due to cold, rain, snow, and wind, Ivan s team showed up as re-scheduled and endured grueling weather conditions day after day with nary a complaint. Despite howling wind and steady rain, Lada s employees, Roman, Michael, Eugene, and Hector, were always pleasant and courteous. They carefully organized the work so that my house was not left exposed to the elements for hours on end, and that construction trash was kept to minimum. First they carefully addressed the dry rot issues. Then each window was removed and reinstalled one at a time. With each window removal, they took the time to check for potential dry rot, carpenter ants, and termites or any other unknowns . If such undesirables were found, they checked in with me and told me how they were going to handle it. Each window frame was rebuilt and in some cases the header was replaced. They also resided the entire south side with cedar boards. Cedar requires that each board be hand hammered to the plywood surface. This they did while slipping and sliding in mud. When the work required that they come inside to trim and caulk the new windows, they were considerate, announced themselves, closed the door behind them, and always removed their shoes. They were super cautious inside in terms of where they set their tools down and the handling of debris. While all of this was going on, Ivan checked in with his staff and me constantly, not only via phone, but also in person. Nearly every single day he was outside looking at the progress. Furthermore, I called Ivan for this or that concern that developed during the course of construction that did not necessarily relate to the job they were currently performing. Dry rot can make a homeowner paranoid. Nonetheless, Ivan would stop by, often in dark, to dutifully inspect my construction concerns and give me his diagnosis. Finally, I would like to mention that Lada does not skimp on materials or sacrifice quality. They used the best products available in terms of paint, windows, siding, caulking, flashing, and vapor barrier materials. Hiring Lada to do the work meant that I had hired an ethical company that would not skimp on materials or sacrifice quality to complete a job. Consequently, what could have been a very stressful and cost prohibitive experience, was actually a very measured, time bound, pleasant, and positive experience. I cannot wait to have them back again to replace my roof.

I am building a 24' x 28' garage with a 2nd floor one bedroom apartment. This structure is the size of a two story home at almost 1400 sq ft. The service was excellent from the first contact. Ivan responded to all my calls immediately. He was a fount of information and help. He went above and beyond the call of duty. There was an issue with how some flashing was installed by the window company. Ivan called it to my attention and took photographs and wrote an e-mail to the window company. He was very accommodating when I was having issues with the roofer getting some flashing installed(there will be a review of the roofer coming soon). I asked for a certain pattern in the siding and it was done just as I asked. I am going to be remodeling my home in 2010. It will include all new siding. Ivan will be my choice for that job also. His workers showed up on time, cleaned up, and were very professional. In fact, after the job was done one of the guys came back a few days later and said he forgot to caulk a few places. Price was great, and so was the service. I paid exactly what was quoted to me.

It was fantastic. He showed up on time, he was prompt, the estimates were good also. They were very courteous and they cleaned up well and did a good job.

We had a window leak in the first floor office and were not certain if the root of the problem was the first or second story window or the siding on the house. Ivan came out and explained the possible causes and provided clear options we could choose from to try and fix ranging from smallest repair and cost, to full replacement. Given that the crew was already coming out and removing one window, the additional work was more cost effective than multiple attempts if the source of problem was not what we thought. We decided to go ahead and replace both windows with new, high quality windows and replace the siding on the small wall. Ivan took care of ordering new windows for us and coordinating delivery. Turns out the upstairs window was the issue. There was damage, plywood under the siding and vapor barrier between the windows. Ivan and his crew replaced damaged plywood and confirmed beams were in good condition at no additional cost. They were able to replace the windows, vapor barrier and siding all in one day. They left the site clean and were careful around shrubs. The painting crew came out the next day and did two coats of fresh paint that perfectly matches the house color. You can't tell work was even done now, except that the new windows are much better quality. Overall Ivan and his team were very professional and explained the problem and work being done very well. We are happy we decided to replace both windows and siding since the window with the issue was not the window leaking and the original quality was not very good. I would use Lada Enterprises Inc again in the future.

He was onsight daily and kept us informed with the process and progress. His crew cleaned up daily and their presence was never invasive. When they came out they were very professional and thorough. They were able to give opinions on what should or shouldn't be done. They were just very helpful compared to other companies we contacted. They came out when they said they would and got our bid to us on time.

They did a good job. I liked the fact that he stays small in order to keep his workers busy. They do a good job for him. They are very loyal. They did an absolutely wonderful job on this project.

Inspired by the great Angie's List recommendations, LADA was one of the companies we contacted for siding/painting estimates. Although we ended up going with another company simply because of budget concerns, we were extremely impressed with both Ivan and Fred and the decision to turn them down was very difficult. It's clear these gentlemen have a true work ethic -- they don't accept payment until the job is done, and they freely shared valuable information and advice during our talks. I really got the feeling that they wanted the best for our house, just as we do. I would have loved to have them handle the painting especially, because they actually offered to get the samples and swatch them on the side of the house for us, to help us decide -- and if you've ever tried to do this yourself, that's a HUGE incentive. Ivan spent a lot of time on different aspects of our estimates, and worked very hard to lower the price for us; unfortunately, money is tight for everyone and although the difference wasn't huge, we had to go the other way. Wish we had two homes to do! I know we could have trusted them and I truly hope we have an opportunity to do business with them in the future. Check them out, you'll be happy you did!

I needed 100 sq ft of cedar shake siding replaced. Ivan returned my call for an estimate promptly. He came out within 2 days and emailed a bid that night. The bid was higher than anticipated so we ended up doing the work ourselves. Ivan was courteous and professional and we would consider hiring him for a future job.

This was a very positive experience. Ivan supervised and made sure that the work was done correctly. We appreciated his integrity and professionalism. The workers were great and always cleaned up before they left and Ivan checked every evening to make sure the area was clean. I was amazed that none of our flowers or bushes were damaged since they were so close to the house, but the crew was extremely careful. This company does quality work and I would definitely hire them again and refer them to friends and family.

Fred instantly gave me a warm friendly feeling from the start to the end. He was patient with my questions and even made an extra trip back to answer more questions IN PERSON, rather than over the phone. He cared enough to "see" what my concerns were. His staff was organized and neat. They even greeted me with a smile and eye contact when I would come home; however, the siding removal guys were shy, especially the young guy. The only time I saw him smile was when I gave him an ice cold glass of soda on a very hot day. The "rip stage" was very clean every day; they swept and with me having a motorcycle, I had no worries of a nail or a screw getting into my tires when entering the back area of my house. When prepping for the new siding, they were careful with removing things near the house. In addition, my plants were protected in a gentle manner. The painting options were hard to make, but I was given good advice of shades, colors and trims to match. Again, he was patient with my choices and even painted FIVE sample colors on the house for me to take my time to decide (a week!!). The "prep time" took a while, but that just showed me how important they wanted the paint to last (scraping old paint and priming areas) and to protect the surrounding area. The paint job was unbelievable. No "extra spray" was anywhere but where it belonged-the house! The trim was perfectly painted to the edge with no errors. The house AND shed look great! I am very grateful that there is still GREAT service, a GREAT price, and a "service with a smile." The company (the people), LADA Enterprises, INC is great! I would highly recommend this company because the price, the warm feeling and PROMPT SERVICE were excellent!

It was an excellent experience. They were honest. There was great follow-up service. I can't think of how it could have been improved. They were on time and professional.

Ivan supervised the job. The bid was done quickly and once we chose LADA for the work a start time was estimated. They actually were able to start earlier than we had expected. The job was carefully and neatly done. Painters worked quickly, but did a thorough job. After sanding the front stoop, Ivan noticed dry rot on one side of the doorframe, which he repaired at no extra cost and actually prepped and painted the whole lower area of the entry after the repair. This was an unexpected bonus to us and nicely done.

It went very well. Fred came out promptly for the estimate which was very competitive. This is a weather-dependent activity, so part of the project was completed one day, then followed up a week later when the weather cleared. The workers were very polite and did a complete job clean-up.

Fred arrived promptly to estimate the cost of the job and I found him friendly, personable and very professional. I liked his no-nonsense style. He told me exactly what the job entailed, materials they would use and how the work should properly be done. I'd had other bids and done my research, so I appreciated that he gave me all the information I needed and didn't waste my time. We choose to do this project rather early in the season and this year was unseasonable cold and wet so there were delays, but the crew moved along at every opportunity and everyone worked hard and everyone's attitude was great. Fred was immediately responsive to every question or concern, and was unfailingly polite. When my choice of paint was 3/4 up and the sun hit it, I realized it was way off what I had envisioned, but the painting supervisor seemed only concerned that I get the final job I wanted and worked with me to find the right color. I thought he gave this effort a lot of attention and was very appreciative. There was also new hardware to install and new outside lights to put up, and it all looks great! I would also like to say that the clean up along the way and at the end was excellent. This was a big home project and mother nature wasn't very cooperative, but I couldn't have asked for more from Lada Enterprises and the house looks great.

Fred took the extra step which I was very impressed with. I had been informed that the original siding was no longer available. After similar siding had been delivered Fred found a company that still had the right amount I needed of the matching siding. He took the similar siding back and installed a perfect match. I am very pleased with the result and would highly recommend him. He is easy to work with and very accommodating. Since he came out right away to give me an estimate and a prompt completion date I did not get a second estimate as the price seemed to be fair.

Fred and Ivan did an outstanding job with the siding and the exterior painting! The work was very high quality and was completed on time with excellent cleanup. I spoke with several contractors, but Fred and Ivan were the most diligent in identifying areas of rot needing replacement and discussing details of the job. I had a particular problem since my neighbor had installed a loud heat pump next to my house. Our two-houses are close together so they act as an echo chamber. Fred discussed the options with me and indicated problems with various alternatives. As a result, I feel that the option selected will adequately lessen the noise problem, yet not cause future problems with the siding. Ivan was in charge of the exterior painting and recommended a great color scheme. In addition to the high quality of the work, he installed new door hardware and light fixtures which saved me hiring a locksmith.

Overall, I think it went pretty well. We are happy with the end product that we got. I think that they took care of a number of things that they really didn't have to but they didn't charge extra for it. The owner does a great job, but there were a few days where the staff didn't clean up but I was happy with the end product.

I originally retained Lada just to replace my siding. During this process, they discovered some dry rot around my living room window and some serious dry rot under my office window. I decided at that point to replace four of the windows. Fixing the dry rot under the office window required removing a decorative brick wall under the window. I got a quote from Lada for this but found it cheaper to use a mason (Vogt and Sons). Removing the wall and fixing the dry rot added a considerable delay to the project but this was not Lada's fault. They showed great patience while I figured out what to do about the wall. Once the wall was removed, Lada promptly repaired the dry rot, installed the office window and finished the siding. The cost for the siding was just what I was quoted. The window installation and dry rot repair of course added to the total cost. The manager, Fred Chakov, was easy to work with, attentive. He was reliable in communicating via email, phone or in person. The crew leader, Eugene was also easy to work with and skilled. The entire crew was conscientious and a pleasure to deal with.

Fred was very professional, prompt and made sure everything was done properly. The crew were also great and cleaned up everything. It all went well.

From the beginning this was a very positive experience. Fred was very professional, straight forward, and helpful with suggestions. His crews (each specialized in different areas) each did a great job. When a couple of unexpected challenges came up, both Fred and Ivan were extremely helpful in finding solutions. I am very pleased with both the process (they are a great company/people to work with!) and with the project outcome. One of the additional areas that set Lada apart from the other 3 large companies I spoke with was Fred's professional, respectful, and straight-forward way of doing business. He did not use the same gimmicks, sales pitches, and inflated initial bids that the others used. Lada will definitely be my company of choice for any future projects.
