Travis was punctual with an estimate and friendly. He performed the work as soon as it was warm enough to do so. He did not obtain the proper permit from the city as required for the approach. The result was a letter from the city, a stop work order and a filing of a proper permit. Thankfully I was not fined. The end product looks nice, although there are few issues not yet resolved. Namely - he did not cut the expansion joints where they meet the garage slab. This has caused cracks to appear 3 feet in length in the new concrete as it expanded in the summer. I expect this crack to get worse in the years to come, although in March 2011 he did return and cut an expansion joint next to the garage as requested. We will see in 2011 as to if this solves any future cracking. Upon performing the pour, his crew accidentally placed a piece of tape in the slab which has now removed in the winter and left a portion of the surface damaged. Travis' crew sealed the concrete but didn't protect my garage floor that has an epoxy coating. As a result, the coating in the final 3 feet of the garage is damaged. He attempted to clean this, but was unable to get this off of the existing epoxy floor. A simple tarp would have prevented the issue. Finally, it may have been too cold when the slab was installed as I have micro-cracks in the slab surface. Time will tell as to if this will result in the top layer of the concrete flaking off in the coming years. Overall, while our driveway certainly looks better than it did when this was started, I am unsure if it will be durable in the long-term. Time will tell and I will update this review accordingly. I have seen other work that Travis has done and it has been very impressive.
