Excellent; Travis and his crew were professional, efficient and kept promises made around time frame and costs. Clean up and follow up to ensure customer satisfaction was excellent as well. I will definitely use ABC Construction again for all my outdoor landscaping needs.

Just don't hire these people. 2 re-pours due to bad finish work, low spots, joints are deep and uneven. They used pea gravel on a large graded area instead of a more durable mix, did not compact soil and graded the final work the wrong way. this led to massive soil contraction and a 3" gap under the entire slab within a year. The costs to try and salvage the slab have nearly doubled the initial price. Travis is confrontational, untruthful and fails in every aspect as a competent contractor. His employees are horrid. Chew was spit into our slab during pouring later deteriorated and left a large divot. No pride of work or leadership here, seek another contractor, unless you have unlimited time to fix crappy workmanship and enjoy wasting time and energy trying to get people who don't give a crap to care about what you are paying them for.

HORRIBLE WORMANSHIP! CHECK CCB MULTIPLE VIOLATIONS FILED COMPLAINT WITH CCB Very bad experience with Travis and ABC. First off Travis comes to your home in a cut off T-shirt with no sleeves, professional! Look at their photos you will see employees working with no t-shirts. That aside these guy take the cheap way out. I asked for a walkway and slab. When I saw the first layout they were about to pour the concrete over my dirt. I would have had a 6” step up to the walkway, absolute trip hazard. The initial agreement was they would dig down 4” and install 2” of gravel and 4” of concrete. After confronting the “Project Manager” he was trying to convince me I didn’t know what I was speaking about. As if only he knew concrete. The “forms” that made the shape for the concrete were crooked and way off grade. I called Travis and expressed my disappointment. He kept trying to convince that I do not know what sub-grade means. Speaking to me as if again he is all knowing concrete. After much debate and not falling prey to him he turns to me and say “I’m not trying yo be an *******..” Really?? Stating that proves you are! They make the adjustments and ask for my approval. My concerns were address the forms are burred a little more. Not knowing I should have a 4 foot level to measure the forms, really so now the customer needs to check the grade to make sure the walkway and slab don’t lean towards the home. Where does the water go when it leans towards the home? They pour the concrete and what a HORRENDOUS job.. My square concrete landing is being pulled down in one corner as if its sinking, response by Travis is “if falls pithing CCB guidelines” Really? So your workmanship is based on CCB guidelines, proves there is no craftsmanship at this point. My walk way is wavy and twisted. Look at the photos of the patch work they did 3 days later, brand new concrete poured and I have 3 patches where they mixed some more concrete to cover mistakes.

Save your money and hire someone else. Our patio and concrete walkway has several low spots where we now have standing water. Their concrete finish work was awful. Our joint lines are not straight. I asked to have the gravel compacted and was told it was not necessary (even though we brought the grade up 10" (in some spots). We had them pour approx 1,300 sq/ft I asked if they were going to put down rebar or steel mesh - I was told it was not necessary... they only used the steel mesh because I insisted. They might be good at doing other backyard stuff, but if you need concrete work done I suggest you look elsewhere

Everything went well. Travis responded to us quickly and was able to get the work done in our timeframe. The deck looks better than we expected.

Contractor repeatedly failed to follow instructions, delayed the project by weeks, did not appear when he promised to do work three separate times and would not return phone messages. It was almost impossible to reach the contractor directly - voicemail was the only avenue. When the sidewalk was poured, the contractor failed to clean up the site properly and left our property and the neighbor's property looking junky. This is the contractor employed by the City of Tualatin to do sidewalk and safety repairs. Make the extra effort to find an alternate contractor. He's extremely unprofessional and the township was not open to my complaints about the quality of the contractor's work. You don't have to use this contractor for repairs required by the town.

They same workers poured the patio that did the previous time.  I paid him unfortunately before I was completely satisfied.  I thought the color would improve.  What I ended up with a splotchy looking patio. It literally looks like it has clouds in it.  I called Travis, the owner back to look at it. He said, "I don't know what is wrong with it.  I've never seen this before.  He said let's give it some time"  This was in August of 2012.  I called him back in the spring of 2013.  He still had no idea why it looked this way.    I have to mention I had just got hit with Rheumatoid Arthritis the summer he poured the patio and really wasn't doing well physically.  I regret having this job done when I wasn't feeling well.  It took a couple years before I felt better so again in 2014 I called Travis.  He had no resolution.  By this time I could not go to the state and file on his bond.  I did contact an attorney but  he said I'd have to sue him in small court.  I really thought about it and had it not been for having to keep my stress low because of my RA and going back to school (I'm a teacher), I would have done it.
Just know he doesn't stand by his work.  If I could add photos, I would.  You would not believe what this looks like.

Inspection of the fence (new construction) in 2013 revealed the following:

  • Poor workmanship.
  • Wrong fasteners used
  • Missing components
  • No staining

  • The owner (Travis) was contacted to complete worked started under previous owner.  He agreed to complete the work.  It took weeks and then onto months for the work to be completed.  Many starts and stops.  Missed appointments. Work done was done very poorly.  Used wrong grade, length, and style of staples.  Staining was incomplete and sloppy.  Stained over dirty, etc. Fence is falling apart less than 2 years after construction.  If I could sue him I would.

The pouring went ok. was what i expected. the work was almost done and all that was left was the trimming, clean up and forms pulled. I paid him the final amount and after that had to nag him to come finish all the work that needed done.

Travis was punctual with an estimate and friendly. He performed the work as soon as it was warm enough to do so. He did not obtain the proper permit from the city as required for the approach. The result was a letter from the city, a stop work order and a filing of a proper permit. Thankfully I was not fined. The end product looks nice, although there are few issues not yet resolved. Namely - he did not cut the expansion joints where they meet the garage slab. This has caused cracks to appear 3 feet in length in the new concrete as it expanded in the summer. I expect this crack to get worse in the years to come, although in March 2011 he did return and cut an expansion joint next to the garage as requested. We will see in 2011 as to if this solves any future cracking. Upon performing the pour, his crew accidentally placed a piece of tape in the slab which has now removed in the winter and left a portion of the surface damaged. Travis' crew sealed the concrete but didn't protect my garage floor that has an epoxy coating. As a result, the coating in the final 3 feet of the garage is damaged. He attempted to clean this, but was unable to get this off of the existing epoxy floor. A simple tarp would have prevented the issue. Finally, it may have been too cold when the slab was installed as I have micro-cracks in the slab surface. Time will tell as to if this will result in the top layer of the concrete flaking off in the coming years. Overall, while our driveway certainly looks better than it did when this was started, I am unsure if it will be durable in the long-term. Time will tell and I will update this review accordingly. I have seen other work that Travis has done and it has been very impressive.
