Furniture - Sales
The corners on the top of the china hutch were poorly drilled and there were very visable cracks. Our Armoir came in two parts; a top and a bottom. The mover?s put in a very deep two inch scratch on the the armoir as they put the top piece together. Had Woodsells properly inspected that piece they would have noted that a screw was sticking out. We promptly called Woodsellers regarding the two obvious problems and they assured us right away that they would fix it. They said they worked with a local furniture repair man. We paid Woodsellers in FULL that day and tipped the delivery men very generously as the furniture was very heavy. Two other problems involved missing hardware for the computer desk and shelving that was too large for the china hutch. Woodsellers again assured us on the spot that they would take care of that. Also, there were minor scratches here and there on the furniture. Woodsellers said they would order the hardware and also have Stuart David send us the parts that needed to be fixed. This included a new top to the china hutch, new shelves, the hardware, and the furniture repair man would fix the scratch on the armoir. Woodsellers gave us a timeline of approximately one month for the repairs. After waiting one month, I called Woodsellers. This was just the beginning of another two months of me calling and following up on the repairs. Woodsellers would always be quick to say they were working on it. Unfortunately we did not have a direct line to Stuart David. Not once did Woodseller's actually initiate a phone call to us to keep us posted. I always had to call them and wait for their return call. After three months of waiting and calling, the delivery truck from Stewart David was to arrive at the "promised" day/time. By this point, it was the end of February. I had ordered the furniture 6 months prior. AGAIN, I had to call to find out that nothing had been sent outside of the missing hardware. By this point, we were very upset and disappointed in the obvious lack of concern on both Woodseller's and Stuart David's part. Finally, Woodsellers agreed to give their furniture repair man, John, permission to fix our furniture. He promptly responded to our call. He came out at first to take measurements and then returned two weeks later for the final fix. He was courteous and did an excellent job. We wanted to buy matching office furniture for our Stewart David office desk. We called Woodsellers for three price quotes but they only got back to us regarding two of the items. We were a little disappointed in the quality of the furniture and very dissapointed in the lack of regard toward us as a customer. We took a very long time selecting Stuart David and were very impressed with Woodseller?s showroom when we first visited it three years prior to making our furniture selection. We will no longer do business with Woodsellers. Since our experience with Woodsellers, we have found a wonderful furniture store in Vancouver Washington. They were able to match our office desk with two solid wood file cabinets and a very attractive matching bookshelf.
