The Glass Guys

This is my second experience with the Glass Guys.  The first was about 4 years ago when they replaced the windshield on my van.  Jim and an assistant came to my home, were prompt and professional and did a great job.  That prompted me to call them when I needed a new windshield for my other vehicle today.Today's experience left a lot to be desired.  When I called a week prior to make the appointment, Jim said it would have to be done in shop because it was too cold outside.  We agreed on a date and time.  He called me the morning of and asked why I wasn't there, and I reminded him that our appointment was not for another 30 minutes.  He said "Oh, I'm always late.  I must have put it down early so I would be on time."  I arranged for a ride, drove the vehicle across town and dropped it off.  We agreed on a time that afternoon when I could pick it up.  At the appointed time, my ride dropped me off but I found his shop deserted and the doors locked.  I called him and asked him where he was, to which he replied he didn't have my number (of course he did, he called me that morning to confirm) and he had left but would return in 20 minutes (you will remember that it was too cold for him to work outside, but not too cold for him to leave me outside.)  When he arrived back at the shop, the first thing he said upon exiting his vehicle was, "Do you have my money?"  I assured him I did (why would he even need to ask?).  I asked how we had miscommunicatedthe pick up time.  He responded, "I remembered the right time, but I got a call from a big client whose business means a lot to me.  So I rushed right over when he called."  I paid him the deductible, he gave me a receipt, reminded me that the work was covered by warranty and I left.In summary, the windshield replacement is fine and appears to be quality work.  But why would I do business again with someone who doesn't keep appointments, didn't try to call me when his schedule changed, treated me as though I wasn't going to pay him, and indicated that his preference is to do business with "big clients" rather than with customers like me.
