Description of Work: Kitchen renovation included new Diamond cabinets, formica counter, tile backsplash and LVP floor in kitchen, dining room, entry way, laundry room and bathroom. there were long delays due to flooring laid in wrong direction, ceiling transition from popcorn to even and flaws in a few cabinet doors. The floor installer was Floors by Design, they offered a 20% discount to keep floor as is but I wanted it in different direction. Although the delays were inconvenient the contractor and floor company provided excellent customer service. Having dealt with previously large house construction projects I understood the reason for delays. Lydia designed the kitchen and I love it! She suggested colors for tile backsplash and changing the cabinet colors to match.

Description of Work: There were few minor issues as there always are in a remodel but they were handled quickly and professionally. The price seemed high but results were beautiful.

After I expressed an interest in hiring Your Kitchen and Bath to renovate my master bathroom, the owner showed up with an employee to look over the space and to discuss what I wanted to have done. The owner had a notepad with him and took notes, but I discovered later that he failed to take complete notes. I feel that I made myself quite clear during this visit as to exactly what I wanted and I was very clear in describing details. This space was to be completely gutted to the studs and, at completion, everything contained in this room would be new. A proposal was prepared after I had selected some materials for the renovation: tile, a new toilet, a new vanity, new windows, etc. During the visit with the owner/contractor at my home, I described the type of new windows that I wanted, which would be larger than the existing ones, clear glass, with a grid pattern to match the other windows of my house. I also told him that I wanted the existing jetted tub to be replaced with a free-standing, vintage-style bathtub. I asked him what such a tub might cost. He told me that a cast iron tub would cost approximately $300-$400. When I visited their showroom before the proposal had been prepared, I was shown some free-standing tubs in a catalog -- tubs that their supplier would be able to supply. The employee who had been assigned to my renovation had tagged one in particular that she thought would work well in my bathroom. I liked it and asked what the cost was; she was unable to tell me. This woman said she would find out and phone me with the cost. Needless to say, I was shocked when I heard back from her and was told that the cost of this tub was $7,000. I told her that I was unwilling to pay that much for a tub, nor could I even afford to pay that much. She suggested that I go online and look at some others she had researched, which I did, but they all had a very contemporary style, and I was going for a vintage-style bathroom. I ended up going into a website I found on my own where I selected, ordered, and paid for a bathtub myself -- one that was only a fraction of the cost of the one she had selected for me. I also purchased on my own the new lighting for this space, the granite counter top for the vanity they were providing, and the new faucets and sinks. The first hiccup in a series of hiccups was when the windows arrived for installation. They were not what I had described to the owner/contractor; they had frosted glass instead of the clear glass I asked for. So, the new windows had to be reordered, which resulted in plywood being placed in the window spaces until the proper windows arrived. During the initial visit by the owner, I stated that I wanted the existing door -- a four-panel door -- to be replaced with a six-panel door. This discussion about a new door took some time because the owner suggested that the replacement be a door with a smooth finish -- no panels -- which I nixed. He failed to take any notes about my wanting a new door because far down the line after the renovation was taking place, I realized that I was not getting a new door. I contacted the employee I was working with and asked her why the old door was sitting in my bedroom and had not been removed for disposal like everything else in this space had been. She checked with the owner and told me that I had told him I wanted to keep the existing door. After such a detailed conversation about this door, I was surprised and I told her to remind him of our conversation regarding the purchase of a slab door versus a pre-hung, and a six-panel door versus a non-paneled door. The plumbing they had done was done incorrectly for the free-standing tub; the free-standing faucets that I had purchased were placed incorrectly on the new new tile and, at one point, it looked as if the new tile would have to be ripped out in that portion of the bathroom. The plumber (a sub-contractor) had to order some connections to solve the problem and the tile did not need to be torn out. The painter who had been hired by Your Kitchen and Bath was scheduled to do the painting after the new baseboard and tub had been installed, and he found it nearly impossible to get behind the tub to paint that portion of the wall and the baseboard. He also had not been told to, or hired to, paint the new exterior trim for the new windows, which was yet another hiccup. When the vanity I had selected through Your Kitchen and Bath arrived at my house for installation, there were some flaws that had to be addressed. The corner of one drawer was damaged and that drawer front had to be ordered and replaced. There was a piece of wood veneer chipped off the edge of the vanity and an employee who worked for Your Kitchen and Bath was sent to repair it. Although this man did his best, I am not entirely pleased with the end result. I feel that the vanity should have been thoroughly inspected prior to being delivered to my house for installation. Although I was pleased with the bathroom in the end, there were too many avoidable missteps along the way, as far as I was concerned. I felt that the owner could have taken far better notes than he did and stayed on top of things, such as the scheduling -- the sequence of what was to follow what work. Toward the end of the project, I expressed my frustration over all the missteps and was told that that the owner/contractor was too busy taking care of things out in the field to stay on top of my project. This to me, is a poor way to conduct a business. And although the employees and sub-contractors who performed work at my house were polite and friendly, this did not make up for all the mistakes that took place. I recently decided to give Your Kitchen and Bath a second chance and renovate my master bedroom. Again, the owner/contractor came over to look at the space and discuss what I wanted done. Along with things such as removal of the existing carpet and replacing it with hardwood flooring, new baseboard, painting, a new closet door and entry door, I wanted three other doors in my hallway replaced. When I received the proposal for this work, there were inaccuracies in it, and something I discussed with the owner about changes to the door trim for all four doors was missing. My existing closet door is a mirrored bypass door that I want replaced with a non-mirrored, paneled bypass door. The proposal showed that the existing "bi-fold" door was to by replaced with a new "bi-fold" door. I was quite clear during our discussion of this closet door replacement that I want a six-panel bypass door. This proposal not only was inaccurate, but it lacked even the most basic details one would expect to see in a proposal, and the total cost was outrageous --shockingly outrageous. I have since hired someone else for this project at a third of what Your Kitchen and Bath wanted to charge me for. I will never again try to use this business and I cannot recommend them to anyone.
Description of Work: Renovated my master bathroom. The "Approximate cost of service" amount shown above was only part of the total cost of the project because I purchased many items on my own that were included in the bathroom.

I ordered complete bath items. We had to pick up items ourselves as I was told that they do not deliver. Though they were on-sight to get measurements and note the layout of the bathroom, they ordered the wrong tub. Because of their error, they did deliver the replacement tub. However again they ordered the wrong tub. It was re-ordered again. They finally ordered and delivered the correct tub. Then after the tub surround was already installed it turned out they did not install the color that I originally ordered. Thus they ended up cutting the tub surround out along with some of the sheetrock from a newly constructed bathroom addition. I also found out after the fact that the shower hardware I ordered did not match the plumbing work. Therefore I ended up having to purchase some of the hardware items from a big box store and they did not math the parts I ordered from Your Kitchen & Bath. So I now have mismatched hardware. They did a good and accurate job on the floor tile the cabinets and the toilet. However after seeing how much room the cabinets took up in the space it did not allow enough room for the window I had originally hoped to install on the outside wall. I am sad to say that overall though the people were nice and they worked hard to correct their mistakes I cannot in good conscience recommend using their services. Nor will I order from them again.
Description of Work: Installed bathtub, tub surround, cabinets, toilet, and floor tile. I cannot recall the costs as it was part of a new addition to an existing structure.
